MASS EFFECT 4 (and beyond)

Jesus, if ME:A had the same quest system as the better Bethesda games, the extra shit would take up entire half TB drive drive and gameplay would be in the hundreds of hours.

I'd enjoy it immensely, but when would I find time to play something else?   Would I want to play anything else?

Who is this Ryder person?  I thought that the ME:A protagonist was supposed to be known as the Pathfinder and rumor was that you could customize your last name as well as your first?

The vid brings up an interesting point.  If we're in a new galaxy, who do we meet along the way to fill the ranks of our squad?  I'm not so attached to the Citadel races that I will miss Turians or Krogans in a new game, but I am not sure how the System Alliance can go explore Andromeda with a Human centric agenda in mind given what happens to every other race in the Milky Way during the Reaper War.

I can dig the Astronaut reference.

The "Ghost Riders In the Sky"  song also kinda sorta has a double meaning for the game, too.

You've got the reference to the Western In Space feel of the game via the Johnny Cash song and Ghostrider is the call sign.for a famous Navy fighter squadron that was disestablished in '95.

Appropriate since all military references in the SA are Naval based..

EDIT: I am dumb.  Fucking Maverick from Top Gun was a pilot in the Ghostriders.

Eh at least one of the pictures shown in the past looked similar to the inside of the Citadel. Salarians & Krogans have been mentioned or shown in tweets & pics as well. I'm imagining it will be something of a race against the other Alliance members if the human centric agenda rumor is true.

I just want our squad to be filled with the craziest DLC classes they put in ME3's multiplayer. Vorcha, Batarian, Teleporting Sword guy, Sledgehammer Krogan, Merc with a crossbow, etc. etc.

Yeah, after playing the Earth DLC and getting to use the Avengers... er... the N7 Earth Defense Squad, I can't go back to plain old Soldiers and Infiltrators and shit.  Andromeda has to go balls out with new Biotic powers and Omni-Tool weapons.

Maybe it would be good if they did away with standard character classes and allowed full customisation? So if you want your character to have Biotic Warp & Tech Shield Overload and the ability to carry Assault Rifles & and an Omni-Bow, turn invisible and wear heavy armour, you can... but you'll have no points left over for Intimidate or Unity. And they have the 'x is unlocked by having high level y' system. Because lord knows, developers like to make massive games so powergamers can say they've unlocked everything, and made their invincible beast-god even more versatile (or specialised; Or both versatile and specialised).

As we’ve been playing the game at the studio recently, it’s showing us that we’re taking the game in the right direction. But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be – that’s our commitment from all of us to all of you. Because of that, Mass Effect: Andromeda will now ship in early 2017. We can’t wait to show you how far we’re all going to go. We’ll see you at the EA PLAY press conference on June 12, with an update.

So, it looks like the Systems Alliance constructed their own mass driver and pointed it at Andromeda.

Explains how we get there, but does not explain how we navigate around a brand new galaxy unless there is another set of mass drivers already in place like there were in the Milky Way.

There kinda has to be another set in place for Maverick to be the first one to explore Andromeda, right?  If there are new mass drivers, I wonder if part of the game is finding and activating them in order to travel to other parts of the galaxy?

Hopefully, the canon ending from ME3 is Destroy so I don't have to deal with a return of the Reapers..

I can't accept an ending that kills EDI and the Geth reunited with Quarians.

I choose to ignore that Lady Or The Tiger bullshit since the endings were designed to spark discussion and debate as to which future was preferable.

As far as I am concerned, Reapers are dead and the Geth and EDI are just fine and MyShep survived to find out what Ashley did not tell him before the mission on Ilos.

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite trailer on the Citadel.

“If you go back to the original Mass Effect, there was that sort of awe of going to a new galaxy and meeting all these aliens for the first time—new races, new cultures, new civilizations,” Andromeda’s creative director, Mac Walters, told us in Los Angeles during an EA gaming showcase today. “We want to bring that back.”

The idea for now, though, is that BioWare wants fans to guess, to scour trailers for clues, to keep them hungry for details. BioWare knows when Andromeda takes place, for example, but they want to be vague about it publicly. “I think it’s fair to say that with even the most creative scientific advancements, it’s hundreds of years to travel to Andromeda,” Walters said. “So that should give you some sense of how far in the future it might be.”

No, that's clearly an Asari. Like I said, I'm guessing the jump to a new galaxy isn't just a Humans Alliance thing. If something is bad enough that humanity is outright abandoning not just Earth, but the entire galaxy, it'd be bad enough for teh Turians and Asari to want to take the same ticket  out.

I'm more curious of what we will be encountering there. Like, it's presented like we are just going to an empty galaxy, with some natural wildlife, but that's it. But life in the Milky Way produced dominate civilizations repeatedly over and over potentially thousands of times. But, if this is a a galaxy that never had to deal with the Reapers, does that mean we are gonna find a race that has been existence for millions upon millions of years? If so, it's an interesting feel, because they'd have a right to view us as hostile invaders.

I don't think they've ever hinted to it being anything more than general expansion so i doubt its a case of needing to leave the Milky Way outside of maybe too many damn people, not enough livable planets.

Didn't the trailer hint to just exactly what you said? I know the leaks/rumors from last year did. Pretty sure it will be a some are ok with us, some want humanity and co. from the Milky Way to go fuck themselves.

Yeah - I never once got the "Flee the Universe" feel more the "We are Explorers" feel

And I can't shake the feeling that that is a Asari-evolved race - not Asaris as we know them

On the other hand - that was definitely a Krogan
