OSJ
Apologies if this has been done before and I somehow missed it, but it looks to be fun: You have a ceiling of $36 to spend, don't forget the VETERAN PRESENCE! OSJ
My team: C- Mauer $1 1B - Bagwell $2 2B - Hornsby $5 3b - Mathews $4 SS - Smith $1 LF - Bonds $5 CF - Cobb $4 RF - Robinson $2 DH - Martinez $3 RHP- Maddux $2 LHP - Carlton $3 RP - Gossage $3 I'll admit I haven't given too much thought to team chemistry, but I figure that being flanked by Bonds and Robby, Cobb will behave himself. The Man Known as Dan
Seriously though, this list is crap. Hudson? Holliday? Beltre? Booooo.
OSJ
Some very curious omissions, no Sandberg or Eddie Collins at 2B was odd as was no Mantle in the OF. Some very choice bargains, is Ruth really 250% better than Frank Robinson? Not in any universe I'm familiar with. Mauer at $1 is just silly. Id like to see it set up with 2 or 3 options at each price point instead of just one.
Death From Above
Catcher: Johnny Bench $5 1st Base Pete Rose $1 2nd Base Roberto Alomar FREE BECUZ I WANT ROBERTO ALOMAR OR I'M NOT PLAYING 3rd Base George Brett $2 SS Honus Wagner $4 LF Ted Williams $4 CF Ty Cobb $4 RF Babe Ruth $5 DH Harold Baines $1 RH Starter Roger Clemens $4 LH Starter Tom Glavine $2 Reliever Hoyt Wilhelm $
The Man Known as Dan
My team in batting order form. 1. Ichiro RF 1 2. George Brett 3B 2 3. Ted Williams LF 4 4. Willie Mays CF 5 5. Pete Rose 1B 1 6. Joe Morgan 2B 4 7. Frank Thomas DH 4 8. Ivan Rodriguez C 3 9. Ozzie Smith SS 1 RHP Greg Maddux 2 LHP Randy Johnson 4 Reliever Mariano Rivera 5 Not as much power as some teams, but we will hit for ungodly average, we defend incredible up the middle, And our 1-2 pitching staff would be a giant culture shock, with the best closer ever behind them. Go2Sleep
C - Pudge 1st - Rose 2nd - Morgan 3rd - Brett SS - A-Rod LF - Bonds CF - Griffey Jr. RF - Ichiro DH - Baines RHS - Maddux LHS - Johnson R - Rivera I think that adds up to $36.

muhammedboehm
Wasn't there at some point in time a website where you could put together teams and sim a season to see how that team would do?
OSJ
I think you're right, but damned if I can find it. I agree these things would be a lot cooler with multiple options at each position, but since I'm too lazy to set up something like that, I'll content myself with bitching that no one else has done it. JRGoldman
I think instead of costing $1, Mark Buerhle should give you an extra dollar.
OSJ
Unless Buehrle is pitching against the M's, in that case he's worth $5.
Cristobal
This list is more about "Who can you live with at low-dollar levels?" then the "build a team" strategy of the basketball one. C Joe Mauer $1 1B Jeff Bagwell $2 2B Rogers Hornsby $5 3B George Brett $2 SS Alex Rodriguez $5 LF Barry Bonds $5 CF Willie Mays $5 RF Babe Ruth $5 DH Harold Baines $1 RSP Greg Maddux $2 LSP Tom Glavine $2 RP Joe Nathan $
LethalStriker
I'll fill out my list later but since you have a salary cap of $36 to pick from 12 different positions you basically have to average $3 for every pick you make. So for every $5 guy you pick you have to pick a $1 player or 2 $2 players.
RIPPA
The website you guys are thinking of is whatifsports I haven't played their in over a decade but ironically I will still get random invites from people to join theme leagues The baseball sim was always better than the football sim

What If Sports. We spent way too much money on that back in the day... fun though. C: Fisk $2 1B: Rose $1 2B: Hornsby $5 3B: Brett $2 SS: Wagner $4 LF: Rickey $3 CF: Cobb $4 RF: Aaron $4 DH: Baines $1 RHS: Big Train $5 LHS: Glavine $2 Reliever: Goose $3 Cobb having to share the outfield with The Rickey and Hank would guarantee a whole lot of spiked second basemen.
