S.K.o.S.
Guardians made $11.2 million from Thursday night shows - more than Captain America 2 and Transformers 4 did on their Thursday nights. Box Office Mojo is saying it's guaranteed to have a $70 million opening weekend, which would be a record for August, and a $100 million weekend is a possibility. The Erotic Terrorist
Oh, why didn't I have Guardians higher on my list? I know that to me it looked pretty weird and as a non comic book guy I had never heard of it before, but I should have remembered that Marvel can do no wrong now. Once I saw that I knew quite a few people who went and watched it already, I realized I screwed up.

Death From Above
I don't know if anything Marvel could be deemed a surprise success, but Guardians of the Galaxy looks to be blowing away almost all expectations. If anyone took a punt on it way up the box office list, that's going to be handy.
blitzkrieg
I couldn't find myself on the list because I was looking in the wrong direction. Still don't expect a surprise rush to the top but hey I might finish in a slightly respectable manner.

If anyone took a punt on it way up the box office list, that's going to be handy. It's also back up to 92% on RT, and tied for the top spot on that list right now. 168 positive reviews out of 182 is exactly equal to HTTYD2's 132 positive reviews out of 143. Brian Fowler
GotG was, not shockingly, really front-loaded. The best Thursday so far this year, 37.8 by the end of Friday, finished the weekend at a very strong 94 million.

J.T.
50% for the Ninja Turtles so far from the first six reviews. Could this turn out to be the next Hercules? No. I expect the reviews of Ninja Turtles to be shit, but also expect it to make decent money. I don't expect it to beat GoTG at the box office this weekend , though. JRGoldman
I put DoFP lower than I wanted to because I thought the Singer lawsuit would have some legs, and there would be some minor critical backlash because of it.
_MJ_
It's interesting to see how many less reviews there are for How To Train Your Dragon 2 (only 143 reviews) compared to X-Men reboot sequel (224). I guess some critics just don't review animated flicks.
