Guest Edwin
Hey guys, I'm currently encountering a problem with my Windows PC because my DVD drive will recognize CD/DVD's, but it will read them as blank CD/DVD's when they're either music CD's, movie DVD's or data CD/DVD's. Does anyone know a possible fix for this?
Raziel
Clean the laser lens. Check the drivers, hope the drive didn't brick (this has actually been a problem lately.)
Guest Edwin
I checked the drivers and it said they were updated. I guess I'll have to clean the lens then, but I'm not sure that'll be the problem because it does read the CD/DVD disk, it just doesn't read the data on it, but I'll give it a try either way. Thanks! Tabe
You can also try uninstalling the drive in Windows. Reboot after doing that and it should get reinstalled automatically and may fix the issue.
Red is Dead
Additionally - you could try rolling back the driver. It could be a corruption in the latest driver update.
