GOTNW
So with WWE doing this tournament for the #1 Contender for the IC title....why didn't they just say this was the 2014 King of the Ring tournament and that the winner, along with being 2014 KotR, also gets a shot at the IC title? ......I just want them to bring back King of the Ring Didn't turn out so well last time they did it. Matt D
Network Special. It's right there. Rumblings were that it was first going to be a fatal four way with Big Show and a few others for the shot that Christian was to win but since he wasn't cleared they did a tournament. Go2Sleep
You'd think with all the talent on the roster now and their affinity for long matches, KOTR would be a natural fit in modern WWE. As for Wargames, I'd be ok with a modified version with one ring inside HIAC. Sort of a halfway point between Wargames and Lethal Lockdown if you will. It should also be fought under I Quit rules, since a routine tapout is pretty underwhelming for such a big match. The other thing is it should only be for one-time blowoffs like Bryan/Shield vs. The Authority. No annual eponymous ppvs with shoe-horned feuds, please.

GOTNW
You didn't like King Sheamus? No. WWE sometimes likes to depush their young guys to test their attitude or something of that sort, I don't really know the reasoning behind it but Sheamus was in that phase and they gave him the KOTR. So he achieved monumental success like losing to Santino before getting a random US Title run.
Niners Fan in CT
I've been thinking about it, and one of the reasons that always gets cited why WWE doesn't do a WarGames match is because they don't want to do a two-ring setup. Well, if you take into account that a WWE ring is 20x20, rather than WCW's 15x15, and that the Hell in the Cell cage also gives around 6-8 ft around the ring to fight, you could just do a Hell in the Cell match under WarGames rules and it wouldn't be much less room for 8 guys to operate... WCW was 18x18 actually. Most indy rings are 16 foot, and WCW I believe was a step up from that. So if WCW was 18x18 and a step up from the indys, would it be safe to say TNA uses a 14x14 ring? It's the only way they can make Abyss look like a threat instead of the guy who works the register at the local porn shop.
Craig H
Why does everyone want WarGames in WWE? LET IT DIE, PEOPLE! Because WarGames: the Match Beyond is fucking awesome.
Matt D
Yeah, look, ok, I get why people might be hesitant about Sting wrestling or whatever, but WarGames is pretty damn timeless. is there nostalgia there? Sure, but it's also a damn fine idea on paper. Two teams enter a man at a time. One team has a man advantage. They hate each other. It ends in surrender. Web Conn
A Wargames of Evolution (Triple H, Orton, Batista and Flair) vs The Shield and Sting could move alot of fucking tickets and get some PPV buys. I know my dad and my mom for that matter (my parents would watch Crockett on Saturday nights together while they were dating) would shell out the 50 bucks to see Flair and Sting go at it one more time in a Wargames match. I know its a match I would love to see.
LooseCannon
Can we please make sure the HEEL team has the man advantage? One tweak I would make to stop it from being a choice between predictably giving the heel team the man advantage or doing something stupid would be to mix it up within the match, so that the the team that gets the 2-1 advantage is not necessarily the same team that gets the 3-2 advantage. Sure, in a 4-on-4 match, you still give the heels the 4-3 advantage, but you can mix up the dynamic a bit. Heel who can go 60 minutes starts off against good worker face tag team guy and destroys him. Tag team guy's partner comes in and we get some dazzling displays of double-team maneuvers. Heel comes in to even the odds, then another heel comes in so we can see the heel numbers game.

offspring515
I don't think Sting, who still looks like an athletic middle aged guy, is going to be used in the ring. I hope to god they never use Flair in any physical capacity again. He is in rough shape physically and seems even worse off emotiionally. Let alone in a War Games match. Yeesh.
