APRIL WRESTLING DISCUSSION THREAD

Have Brad Maddox be the guy who pins him. Then he can be more positioned as the Authority's stooge, using hired muscle to keep the title for a while before some babyface rolls him over.

Stooge Maddox with like Mason Ryan as his muscle would be sweet. Shit on Raw next week you could have Trips make the match then Evolution cost Ambrose the match.

That could work, but I think this should be Bo's spot. Have Mason Ryan clubber them, then Bo does the 'lamest spear since Edge' for teh winz.

They don't need him on TV right now in his usual role due to the glut of backstage figures already with the Authority, Vicki, and Maddox. He does a decent amount of press for the company. He does their appearances at the Arnold for example.

If they have Bo Dallas as US Champ he should cut a Bo-Lieve promo before hand call out Ambrose for the US title then they have their match Evolution still costs Ambrose the match. Then have Bo cut Bo-Lieve follow your dream promos on Main Event and Superstars beofre wrestling the Yoshi Tyson Kidd and JTG's of the WWE Universe before setting up a program with like a returning Darren Young or something.

As long as he stays far away from the ring, more power to him.

I have no idea what the story is with Otunga. He is in the intro to all WWE programming among the main eventers and the hall of famers. He landed on the cover of Muscle & Fitness. So they clearly like him.

He seems to wrestle often on the houseshow circuit so it's not like he's not around.

So with WWE doing this tournament for the #1 Contender for the IC title....why didn't they just say this was the 2014 King of the Ring tournament and that the winner, along with being 2014 KotR, also gets a shot at the IC title?

......I just want them to bring back King of the Ring

Didn't turn out so well last time they did it.

You'd think with all the talent on the roster now and their affinity for long matches, KOTR would be a natural fit in modern WWE.

As for Wargames, I'd be ok with a modified version with one ring inside HIAC. Sort of a halfway point between Wargames and Lethal Lockdown if you will. It should also be fought under I Quit rules, since a routine tapout is pretty underwhelming for such a big match. The other thing is it should only be for one-time blowoffs like Bryan/Shield vs. The Authority. No annual eponymous ppvs  with shoe-horned feuds, please.

You didn't like King Sheamus?

No. WWE sometimes likes to depush their young guys to test their attitude or something of that sort, I don't really know the reasoning behind it but Sheamus was in that phase and they gave him the KOTR. So he achieved monumental success like losing to Santino before getting a random US Title run.

I've been thinking about it, and one of the reasons that always gets cited why WWE doesn't do a WarGames match is because they don't want to do a two-ring setup. Well, if you take into account that a WWE ring is 20x20, rather than WCW's 15x15, and that the Hell in the Cell cage also gives around 6-8 ft around the ring to fight, you could just do a Hell in the Cell match under WarGames rules and it wouldn't be much less room for 8 guys to operate...

WCW was 18x18 actually.  Most indy rings are 16 foot, and WCW I believe was a step up from that.

So if WCW was 18x18 and a step up from the indys, would it be safe to say TNA uses a 14x14 ring?

It's the only way they can make Abyss look like a threat instead of the guy who works the register at the local porn shop.
