Big Fresh
Fallout 4 is a game I would like to play.
Eivion
Picked up & started New Vegas yesterday. I find it pretty fun so far though I'm not happy with the change in how fast one gains perks. The reputation system is interesting though a little frustrating as well. I'm already seemingly screwed on the prison quest involving the Powder Gangers. misanthrope304
I couldn't pass Fallout 3 GOTY up @ $9.53 tax & all, so I bought it yesterday, it should be here on...fucking Wednesday? WTF Amazon Prime, get your shit together.
cwoy2j
So I've been playing Fallout 3 for the last month. I just achieved lv 30. and have seemingly done most of side quests and DLC leaving me the main quest, Broken Steel, & the Mothership DLC. I figure I will probably beat it in another week or two. Was wondering if New Vegas is worth picking up? Does it glitch too much even today, or has worst of it been done away with? The DLC packs all seem to run pretty well. The on disc stuff can glitch out if you play too long. Good rule of thumb would be if you've been playing for more than an hour, save your game and then use the wait function in the game to wait 7 days. That'll clear out whatever's bugging it down. Also, clearing out the cache seemed to help me. http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/939933-fallout-3/answers/79615-how-do-i-clear-the-cache http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/939932-fallout-3/62833951
cwoy2j
Some info went out from Quake Con about Fallout 4 btw, including confirmation that you can romance human companions. http://www.gamezone.com/news/everything-we-learned-about-fallout-4-from-quakecon-2015-3422243

It was fun, but the lag & freezing in the last third was kind of pissing me off. So far New Vegas has run smoothly save for two very random freezes. I'm generally trying to save often to avoid big setbacks like that though so it hasn't been a big problem as of yet.
Robert C
I might have to give that a shot. I never had many issues with 3 outside of Broken Steel, which was nearly unplayable, but New Vegas froze on me constantly.
Eivion
So I'm trying to complete Raul's companion quest, but the final dialogue won't start after talkign to Ranger Andy. Am I basically screwed on this one? I'm on the PS3 version by the way.
BrianS81177
If you're still having problems with the Raul quest, try going back to Ranger Andy and exhausting every single piece of dialogue. I had to do that with Loyal
Eivion
I tried doing that before, but it didn't seem to work. Been doing some side quests with other characters since then. Could hurt to try one more time. Right now I've been playing through Honest Hearts. I find it fun outside of the damn Giant Cazadores. They do way too much damn damage, move terribly fast, and seem to come out of nowhere more than half the time.
BrianS81177
Make sure to find "The Survivalist's Rife". It's a hell of a weapon.
Eivion
Thanks for mentioning that. Not sure I would have found it otherwise even with my trying to complete the map.
BrianS81177
Yeah I'd have never found it either if I hadn't looked up all the unique weapons in New Vegas. Honest Hearts is pretty good DLC all in all (you should make the Gecko Backed Leather Armor when you have a chance) but good god almighty is Waking Cloud the worst fucking follower ever. I can't stand her.
Eivion
I didn't have too much of a problem with Walking Cloud. I liked her story. Gameplay wise she definitely left something to be desired. She had a habit of getting in the way of shots and somehow getting koed despite having 200+ more life than me.
BrianS81177
Yeah that was my main problem with her. She'd be unconscious every 5 minutes it seemed. Also just read for Fallout 4 you can flag items you need for crafting, so when you're scavenging out and about they'll be highlighted and easier to find. Eivion
That is a nifty addition for 4. One again I have to thank you for pointing out the Survivalist Rifle as that along with the anti-material rifle have made Deathclaws so much more easier to deal with. Is there any way to get decent money more easily in this? I tried that card game and sucked terribly at it. Its left me afraid of trying the casino games. BrianS81177
You're welcome about the Survivalist Rifle. It's one of my favorite weapons. What I do with the blackjack tables is every time I make a few hundred caps, I save. Then if I lose a lot, just re-load and start over. You can get about 40K if you max out the tables in each casino. Another good way to build up caps is to kill the gun runner guards and sell their gear to the Vendortron. You don't get any karma penalty for killing them, and they all wear combat armor and carry hunting rifles so you can get a good amount for their gear. Sell each piece separately, don't repair them into higher condition cuz you'll get less money that way. Kill the guards, sell their stuff, fast travel away and wait a few days, travel back and do it all over again when they respawn. If your luck is low you can get the luck implant from the Medical Clinic, and if you have access to the Caesars Legion safe house you can get the Lucky Shades from there that will increase your luck by 1 when you wear them. The vendors mostly all get new inventory and get their caps refilled on Sunday and Wednesday so you can hoard stuff til you're full then sell often. I really wish they had included the Dart Gun from Fallout 3 in New Vegas. It made Deathblows and Ghoul Reavers so much easier to deal with. cwoy2j
Also, the Blackjack version of the Courier Duster raises your luck skill by 1. You have to have neutral or negative rep with all three factions.
BrianS81177
Fallout 4 will have no level cap, and will not end when you finish the main story http://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-4-will-have-no-level-cap-and-no-hard-finish/
Eivion
Makes me wonder just how big the game will be and how perks will work this time around.

BrianS81177
You'll be forced to wear an explosive collar, so be prepared to deal with that. Also, at the end of it you have a chance to take some gold bars that are worth a lot of money. You'll be over encumbered if you take them all, but there is a way to get them. Google it before you do the final boss battle (you'll know when it is)
Dirty J.
Just saw some of the leaked gamescon footage of FO4. Color me unimpressed. Looks like they reused a lot of old assets from the previous game, then again I'm not suprised by Bethesda.
