So my fucking idiot neighbor got bedbugs. As of today, my apartment is clear, but they're doing the full preventative maints routine to make sure, which requires me to sign a contract verifying that before the pest control people come I will:

1) move all furniture two feet from the wall I share with the moron

A big fuck you to the ignorant piece of shit at my new job.  (However this takes a good turn at the end.  Hang in there.)

After getting laid off in January and getting a small severance, I was having a hard time finding a job until I lucked out because a good friend got me hired on where he works.  Part time hours at first.  It's a warehouse for a contractor to Time Warner cable.  Long story short, the installers come into the warehouse in the morning and get the equipment they need for their daily routes. I check it out to them, keep track of everything, etc. I had a similar job with another contractor a couple years ago until the contractor suddenly went out of business.  (The same guy has gotten me the job at both places....great guy.) Part time hours at first, and eventually moving to manage a different warehouse they are opening.

Today ended my first full week.  From day one I've been stuck working with the boss's son.  What is his exact role there?  Fucked if I know.  Padding his hours and fucking around seems to be his job description.  So from day one he rubs me the wrong way.

--Literally on the first day, he got into a shouting match with one of the installers because he's a blowhard.

--Saw all of my tattoos and started bragging about doing tattoos in his basement.......apparently he didn't realize I actually go to a shop where people actually do it professionally and not jailhouse bullshit.

--Mentioned off handedly that he "fought in some tough man competitions." (Of course I don't buy it, but he sure said it.)

--Claims on his payroll form that he works 55 hours a week. (There's a log we all sign into)  I am always there later than him so I'm not sure how that works.  So I do more work than him but he pads his hours because he can.

--Is an expert on everything.  Everything.

But today..........goddamn, today.  While we were making a trip to the Time Warner main warehouse to pick up product and do returns, he told me "They fired everyone that worked here before and hired on this crew of 'nigs' and they're slow as fuck."

Yes, he said "nigs."  And yes, he meant exactly what you think he means.  I was furious.  Because being a racist is bad enough.....but to just assume I am as well and just talk that way to me, assuming I'm a piece of shit like him?  But what can I do?  Go off on the boss's kid and lose a job I really need after only 5 days there?

So anyway, I left to go back to the warehouse before he did (we were driving two different vans), and after stopping for lunch, I got there to see that he got back before I did.  He proceeds to tell me he got into an argument with not only the guys at Time Warner, but also with guys from another contracting company.  I have no idea how, nor did I ask details.  All I know is that everyone over at that place was cool to me and it was smooth sailing and I had no hassles at all.  I have no idea what happened after I left.  I just shook my head and went about my business and he left.

A few minutes after he left, one of the other guys in the office came into the warehouse and asked me where the dude went. I said he left for the day.  He asked "What happened over at Time Warner today?"  I said "Man, I don't know......everything was cool when I left, then I got back here and Zack said he'd been in some sort of argument."  Dude shook his head in a way that said he was used to this.  I'm assuming someone from Time Warner called about it.

But the silver lining............

My friend that got me the job called a few minutes ago and asked if I could run the warehouse by myself tomorrow morning.  I said yeah, why?  Well, looks like the racist dickhead finally used up all of his daddy points.  The people above him are pretty much going to make him fire his son.  Because apparently not only did he have the altercation, but he got pulled over for speeding today too..............and apparently got pulled over earlier in the week  On top of getting into shouting matches with people on two different days.

Good fucking riddance.  Hoping this will free up the full time gig I was supposed to be getting farther down the road and make it happen sooner.

So yes, a fuck you to that fucking moron.  But a thank you to karma or whatever the hell led to him getting put in his place.

I put this under Fuck You because I'm 99.999% certain if she wasn't well-known, or at least had the connections to kick up up a fuss, there's little to chance they'd have paid up. Man, it's amazing these companies can get away with crap like that.

In this case it wasn't really the insurance company's fault.  The insurance company asked for medical justification for the treatment and the hospital didn't give them any, despite three separate requests being made.

Now, that doesn't mean things should have gone like they did.  The insurance company assigned a case manager - I believe all insurance companies do that for cancer cases - and that person should have continued following up instead of just giving up after 3 tries.

That said, as I've experienced first hand more times than I can count, insurance companies absolutely DO deny claims for no reason.  They very clearly deny claims just to see if you'll fight the denial.  It's BS and they do it all the time.  Why not?  A percentage of people won't, or won't know they can, fight the denial.  That's like adding money to the insurance company's bottom line.

However, as I've also learned, it's often best to ignore an initial denial.  Wait until the bills start showing up.  I can't tell you how many times a claim for my wife got denied initially, only to get cleared up before I ever got a bill because more information was received - without me doing anything.

I honestly thought the healthcare law was suppose to end this sort of thing. Like that was the big selling point.

Had to put one of our dogs down this morning. So, I guess, FUCK YOU to whoever decided that dogs couldn't happily and healthily live forever after we get all attached to them and stuff.

Second time my wife and I have had to do this over the past couple of years. . .sucked this time just as much as it did the first time. We have one more dog, and it's going to suck then, too, if I had to wager a guess.

As an isurance agent, I explain to my customers that have claims that insurance companies are basically Joe Pesci in Casino.  It's a fucked up racket.

Well, when you think about the insurance business model, that's pretty much what it is: they assign a monetary value to various outcomes based on their historical probability of occurring and make profits on the likelihood of said events not occurring.

To Gonzo: My sympathies. The missus and I still haven't gotten over putting our Harley Quinn down two years ago.

To Mike Zeidler: I'm pulling for your mother, man.

Cliff Hanger: There is a device that works as a heat source for things that can't just be chucked into a dryer like your comics. It goes up to 120 degrees, more than enough to kill any bugs. Bedbugs can't stand heat. Remember that.

So, yeah, Mom's got breast cancer.  She's the sole caretaker for Dad, who has Parkinson's and needs lots of physical assistance.  My brother and I live 2500 miles away.  Ugh.

My own Fuck You as my Mum was admitted into hospital yesterday with severe pneumonia. One of my worst days of my life. For my FB friends please don't say anything on my wall as those who need to know do. Thanks.
