odessasteps
Badass Brass Knuckle Theater double feature tonight was Manhunter and Silence of the Lambs. I hate night shift . A double feature of Manhunter and Red Dragon would have been sn interesting comparison.
Curt McGirt
Manhunter would and will always smoke Red Dragon, no matter what, as I just witnessed. "In A Gadda Da Vida", hoh-nay. EDIT: And for that matter I am one of the few people that likes Manhunter better than Silence despite how completely amazing Silence is
odessasteps
When i was either a sophomore or junior in college, in less than a week, i watched silence, read both books and saw manhunter. I dont recommend doing that.
Curt McGirt
I think I read both books back to back when I was in high school too. Didn't weird me out or nothing. I'm hard like that.
NikoBaltimore
I noticed they had American Gladiators and was super excited thinking it was the 80s/90s version. Instead it was the newer one with Hogan and Layla Ali as hosts and I was incredibly disappointed. They also had on Pros vs. Joes. Can't help but wonder why they're on this network. If they needed to fill time just put Miami Vice on there. I'm hoping it was a one-off deal.

Cliff Hanger
Shit. I'm still figuring out what I do and don't have (just got cable for the first time in 5 years); I really need to hop on board this channel for LU and movies, don't I?

So....Naked Lunch WHAT. THE. FUCK Don't do drugs kids. The movie was pretty wild, it was like a 50s version of Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas. I feel like I really need to read the book now though. Curt McGirt
The book and movie are completely dissimilar. And the book is weirder.
SolidGoldBomb
Hell Yeah! They are going to be showing both Kill BIll movies and a Bruce Lee marathon in the next few weeks! The master of the sidekick returns! Bruce's sidekicks are one of my favorite things in the world to see, he was the GOAT at kicking ass!
NikoBaltimore
Both Kill Bill movies I've seen a billion times, yet on El Rey it feels so, so right. And fuck yeah for Bruce Lee marathon.
J.T.
Who do I yell at for not warning me that Takeshi Kitano's Blind Swordsman Zatoichi send up was on last night?
Curt McGirt
Not me, I missed it too. But I DID catch the Michael Mann Director's Chair and I have even more respect for the man(n), he's a sly Chicagoan who doesn't give away all his secrets, but you can see the wheels in his head turning like mad the whole time. J.T.
Today is Alexander Fu Sheng's birthday. He would've been 61 today. RIP. Gone too soon.
NikoBaltimore
I never heard of Fu Sheng until El Rey put a bunch of his movies out. He was just so unbelievably good and I was saddened when finding out he was killed in that accident. If any of his movies are on today I'm going to have to check it out. J.T.
It's the Serious-Lee Bruce movie marathon weekend. I've got my parent's DVR set to record Way of the Dragon and Game of Death on Saturday. Next Thursday will be interesting. You've got Beat Takeshi's Sonatine and Blind Swordsman Zatoichi coming on before the Lo Lieh ass kicking double feature of Five Fingers of Death and The Chinese Boxer. The entire Mexico Trilogy will be coming on again on Monday night. The only one I haven't watched all the way through is El Mariachi.
Neil Koch
You don't have those Bruce Lee movies? You can get the remastered versions on DVD for $6 with both movies. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AKB8OZC/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1445700200&sr=1-3π=SY200_QL40&keywords=bruce+lee&dpPl=1&dpID=51CZFqPQ%2BgL&ref=plSrch
Curt McGirt
I kinda laugh at those being called a trilogy since Desperado is a complete remake of El Mariachi (and better).
Kyle Black
Are they crunching the credits for everything now?
J.T.
I think so. Compressed to fit in the time schedule. For those of you lucky to be at home at 3PM EST, Beat Takeshi's Zatoichi send-up is coming on. I will be ordering a pizza for the Lo Lieh Is Fucking Awesome double feature tonight starting at 5:30 PM EST. The asswhoopins at the end of Five Fingers of Death never gets old. Curt McGirt
Don't forget, if you really, really don't have anything to do on Saturday, El Rey is showing the first five Puppet Master movies. The first and third are worth DVRing, at least.
Pete
Game of Death is hysterical for all the wrong reasons. "You! You're a tallish black guy, you'll be a perfect stand-in for Kareem Abdul Jabbar!"
