Tabe
So the Spokane Indians, the local minor league baseball team, had a "Caption This Photo" contest on Facebook. And, yeah, Tabe had to go and win that mutha. Bring on the autographed team ball from 2012!
Johnny Sorrow
I've mentioned that I recently changed careers, and I'm now a pest control tech. Well, today I had to go take my exams to be certified in Colorado and I passed both in record time with great scores.

Reggie20x6
My other job finally slowed down, so I just got some new contracts and I'll be back on the road again. I'm glad that my leased vehicle only racked up a total of 12,000 miles in two years because I will be driving everywhere this time. I'll be in Mississippi all of November (where dreams are made), and back in Texas for the two weeks before Christmas. Not sure where I'll be in-between, but the wife will probably murder me if I don't stay home with her. "Home" being a relative term. By January, we will be at month seven of not having a house or apartment in our name. It's also been almost two years since I've worked in an office, and I hope that streak continues for as long as I am working.
Mike Campbell
My wife is absolutely on the warpath, and it's not at me! She and her friends went wine tasting and out for lunch last week. Well the restaraunt (which BTW they weren't happy with their food or service), decided instead of breaking up their bill, and charging each person for their food, just put the whole bill on her debit card, and didn't tell her. She found out two days later when I was going over our account, and asked how she managed to spend 60 bucks on lunch. Needless to say, that restarant got an earful. JustJay
Baby number two came on Friday at a whopping 10lbs and 21 and 3/4ths inches long. Mom was a champ, all natural. Home now today and doing well.
Burgundy LaRue
Congratulations! But is it just me, or are a lot of DVDVR posters fertile as all out? Y'all mammals doing it like you're on the Animal Channel! (joking)

We'll see how I handle two girls lol. Though me and wife are thinking of doing that same exact thing so no more surprises.

Control
I'm teaching "The Call of Cthulhu" in my intro lit course today. I've gotta assume that, when I made up the reading list, I meant to put it on Halloween. Good call, me!
Tabe
Last week, I got assigned to a new dept. I'd been kind of pushing for a change at work and my boss was looking to accomodate me. Didn't get the opening I thought I would but that's OK. Last week wasn't all that interesting, mostly just reading documentation and twiddling my thumbs. Finally started the hands-on training yesterday and completed my first project (90% on my own) today. Have 2 more to complete as well. I have been doing software QA for 12 years prior to this and my soul was crying out for a change Now I'll be creating electronic forms and writing reports in the medical record software that my company installs and integrates at hospitals. It's not the most glamorous job in the world but it's a change. It's completely different, it's challenging, it involves writing actual code, and for once I'll be creating instead of destroying. And the folks in my new dept - many of whom I knew already - are really nice and all the supervisors seem genuinely very happy to have me in their group. So yay me.

OSJ
Congrats to all the proud parents and to Tabe on the new gig. (I'm hardly in the same league when it comes to writing code, but I do know it is much more fun to create something than to spend hours breaking things. I spent too many hours of my life QAing stuff for a major company when it wasn't even my job, (my job was sales to major accounts, but I got tagged as the regional "computer guy" and suffered accordingly.) My good news is also good news for anyone interested in old-time rasslin (I have to assume that there are at least a few people here that fit that criteria). Anyway, the company that I'm an editor for, Ramble House Publishers is going to produce wrestling historian Steve Yohe's book on Strangler Lewis and I've been tapped to write the intro. I consider it an honor to be associated in any way shape or form with this project, but to have my name in the book sort of vindicates all the hours and hours I've spent watching and reading about this goofy sport. The book's going o be expensive, so start saving up now. It will be well worth the money.
Marty Sugar
Although I'm disappointed that anger towards Wal-Mart killed my mini "War Of The Worlds" Zombie Flu gimmick on the FUCK YOU! page, the good news is that both Tegan and I survived a pretty horrible stomach bug. Plus, hey, I dropped 12 pounds in the process: it's all in my new weight-loss program that will be going to market in a few weeks.

I dropped about ten lbs. when in the hospital (since I refuse to eat the crap that passes for food there, it was almost a four-day fast.) Wife smuggled in two fish sandwiches, but that was about it. With every meal they served, I just drank the crap de-caf coffee and ate the dinner roll. Since when does "low sodium" mean "use no spices"? Dewar
Awesome time tonight at the MTS Centre watching the Jets beat the Red Wings. Ran into some friends, and long lost high school buddies. If only rum wasn't 8 bucks a drink...
OSJ
Just saw the doc and she's finally sending me to a specialist later this month. Weight is under 280 for the first time since my twenties. 273!!!! Only 33 lbs. to go to get back to my fighting weight of 240. That stupid BMI says I should weigh 185. Only time I weighed 185 was when I almost died of mono when in high school. Idiots. My doc is of the opinion that 240lbs or 230lbs is just fine. I said, "What about the BMI?" "That's for people who aren't built like football players to start with." Okay, cool, I don't want to be a member of Team Emaciated.
Control
After class today, one of my (mature) students told me that my lecture was "fantastic." This was nice to hear, especially since attendance has been sliding in both of my courses, and I've been paranoid that it's me or something. He assured me that I'm "definitely not boring." Music to my ears.

OSJ
Two sections of Intro literature, which is a required first year course. Can't see how that could be boring... Are you able to work in anything that Library of America has issued? In which case give 'em some Cormac McCarthy, HPL, and PKD. That'll put meat in the seats.
