[WWE NETWORK] Technical and General Content Question/Comments

Am I the only one disappointed in the content of the Network?  Everything is going up way too slow for my liking and I'm not sure I'll resub in 6 months.  I really like watching some of the old Smackdowns and I want to watch more but they're not there.  I knew it all wasn't going to be up this soon but I thought it would be a little faster.  By the time we get some of this stuff, it'll be years, if we even get it.

Dude.. today makes one month. Since they've launched they've put up 10+ house shows, six months of 1993 RAW, various other RAWs, all of 2012-13, a few classic Smackdowns, 10+ episodes of World Class, 10+ episodes of ECW TV and that's not even counting their original shows plus NXT every week.. an NXT PPV quality show..etc.

I guess my point is they have put up quite a bit of content in a few weeks time. If you are expecting a certain show like say maybe WCW Saturday Night.. you might have to wait for that to trickle in.

Somewhere between 1997 and her return (1999?), she had comedy-porn-star level implants put in. It was unfortunate, both for her looks and for her athleticism. I think she has since removed them.

Her best 90's mainstream work for me is still the Alundra Blayze era. I am kind of partial to her 80's AWA run, though, because THAT HAIR!

Hey, watch it buddy, I became a man looking at those jugs

I realize everything you said but we've got over 1000 episodes of RAW alone to go through, going at a rate of 5-7 per week.  Factor in all the other shows that they're not even airing right now.  How many episodes of the 6:05 TBS shows are out there?  How many SD's and Nitros?  I just want things a little quicker.  For the SD's, we're only getting a couple per week.

I think they are probably saving the Nitros for when the Monday Night War show debuts in the Summer. The other stuff I don't know.. they do have to go back and upscale all of the old footage to make it acceptable for network viewing so it might take some time to do that. Someone who is more familiar with video tech could explain how that process works.

I think they realize this is their new platform to push content, so the content is going to be dragged out really slow from here on out. If they're going to be using this for years to come, why rush the content? Not everyone will be satisfied, but the ones that are (like me) are glad to hand them $10 a month for what's available right now.

I do wish ECW on TNN and 2000/2001 seasons of RAW & Smackdown were on there, though.

You guys are really expecting every episode of Raw and Smackdown to go up? That's never gonna happen.

It should, and I'd wager that if it doesn't that could be one of the things to drive subscribers away. The streaming model demands new content, but in the case of the WWE they own all the content so it also demands access. I don't think the Network can survive long term if they try and treat it like a Netflix model where they are taking stuff down all the time, what's there needs to stay there for the type of service they are pushing.

They added a particularly awesome episode of Legends of Wrestling on the 1970s with Nick Bockwinkel, JJ Dillon and Pat Patterson all trading stories.  Too bad the fourth seat for that one was Hayes.  The Patriotism one is pretty good too as it's just pretty much Sgt. Slaughter telling awesome stories the whole time.

sorry but as someone who had Classics on Demand since its beginning I have no issue with the speed of how things are coming.  On Demand only put an average of 6 - 8 shows a week that expired in two weeks.  They definitely putting up more than 8 shows a week and they don't expire from the looks of it.  It took about 6 years to get through 3 years of 1996 - mid 1999 Monday night RAW shows.  They have at least 3 or 4 months of 1993 RAW up in their first month.  Plus 2 full years of Smackdown and RAW.

if you are one of those people that has to have everything now and apparently has the time to watch everything now, save the $60 for the six month period find a trader and buy a year set on DVD.   Hell there is still hundreds of illegal torrent sites out there.

And people are talking about taking stuff down is just unproven.  Can anyone actually name something that was on the Network and has never come back?

I notice quality drops at times. I watch on Roku. It's usually just for a minute or so and then it pops back to HD.

The only annoying things on Roku now are the live stream "skipping" sometimes and sometimes a vod selection will stop and reload several times in a row. Restarting it seems to fix the problem. So really minor stuff IMO.

I think people jumped the gun about taking stuff down. Seems like the only reason they took stuff down was to either uncensor language or correct theme issues, namely because they added a lot of stuff that was first on CoD just to ensure they got everything up at launch that they promised.

Overall, I'm with you bubba. I thought Classics was the greatest thing ever but The Network is just a billion times better. I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how fast they're adding new content. In fact, if there's one bit of content I wish they'd add, it's new (as in, not having already appeared on CoD) episodes of Legends and the Old School house shows.
