glfpunk Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 The Treasure Cave is BORING! Just do some patrol missions or something. Why you're going to pay top dollar for a brand new game and then, rather than actually play the thing in an exciting, challenging way, you want to stand on a rock and ruin the ammo drops for everyone else in the lobby? Stupid. The game did screw me over on a couple of Bounties in the Moon. I had 28 or 30 Melee kills, 8700 of 9000 XP without dying, stepped off a bridge the wrong way, and got TURN BACK 5, 4, and it wouldn't let me glide back up, so they were reset to zero. Still completed them though. Did four Gold Tier events - took out the Walker on Mars twice, then defended the Warsat on Earth twice. #1 How does anyone playing around the loot cave ruin ammo drops for anyone else in the lobby? #2 Are you aware that if you are completely out of ammo that after 30 seconds of being empty the game replenishes all of your ammo to full capacity?
J.T. Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 There were people camping the Treasure Cave this morning. That is going to get hotfixed really soon. This is Bungie's fault. The loot rewards for the harder missions are PATHETIC and downright pitiful. It's no wonder people just want to camp and do the treasure cave. The reason? It is the best and easiest way to load up on tons of decent loot. Some runs now that I have a legendary weapon, I don't even have to search for more ammo to reload. My new legendary pulse rifle gives me a full reload once I empty. I enjoy the strikes. They are fun. However, I want to get better gear, and doing the strikes do not help me all that much in that regard. I will play harder and harder strikes and sometimes get absolutely nothing. Why do I want to spend 30 minutes to an hour or more on a strike to get basically nothing? It's no wonder fans are looking for loopholes to load up quicker because Bungie has kind of fucked us over with the loot rewards. I agree that loot and Glimmer should fall a little more frequently, but I relish Crucible wins so much more because I know my gear is crap compared to other players. 1
Andrew POE! Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 The Queen's Bounties are a joke unless you are under lvl20. The only weapons available to trade in are rare weapons (which this game seems to have plenty of rare weapons, so....they aren't really rare?) and you can do a Kill Order to replay a mission at lvl24. For people above the level cap, this is small potatoes. You get legendary items like armor shaders, cloaks, etc. but no legendary armor or weapons.

Eh, earning favor with a new faction during a limited event is a worthwhile venture, IMO.. Her bounties are low hanging fruit, so I can polish them off in the course of working on something else. If the items I get are sub-par, I will just take them apart and use the glimmer and raw materials for something else. I will cheerfully schmooze with any power broker, whether it be the Queen of the Reef or the Iron Banner.

This was going to be my exact response. I would only add that considering all of my friends are level 20 to 27, I would actually like to, you know, play strike missions with them, instead of fucking around with story missions, which I'll still complete. Now I can complete those story missions and not have to care about the exp side of things, which is one less thing off of my back. Again though, the Treasure Cave doesn't impact ammo drops for anyone on the server. At all. Anyone who says so doesn't know what they're talking about because, like point #2, your ammo reloads automatically anyway. Oh, one last thing, it's a very quick and fast way of upgrading your existing weapons. You're essentially playing target practice.
J.T. Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 The Queen's Wrath bounties will be available until October 6th so I will have all next week to curry favor with Her Hotness, er Highness. I think she also has a mission queue available (probably Strikes) so I am up for doing whatever Queen of the Reef related stuff that is Level 22ish difficulty with any 360 clan members that are online. If Mark is on, I will help him score on the Gold Loot Chests on Earth that he's missing.
RIPPA Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 If Mark is on, I will help him score on the Gold Loot Chests on Earth that he's missing. Well considering he was posting at almost 3 AM - I don't think he is on the same schedule as us
J.T. Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I crashed last night at 9:40 PM EST. Hopefully I won't go all Night Shift and will be catatonic at 3 in the morning. I have to drive to Maryland tonight and will be at the Skins / Giants game on Thursday with my girlfriend and her family.
RIPPA Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Yeah - when I got back on I did one more crucible and got both the Hunter and Warlock bounty in the same match. I really need to keep doing the story just to unlock Mars because almost all the rest of my bounties are for there

I really need to keep doing the story just to unlock Mars because almost all the rest of my bounties are for there I am good with pressing on with Moon story missions. I can always opt out of the Crucible bounty I haven't started yet and get a Queen of the Reef bounty related to harassing The Hive. We can try to score on some loot chests while doing story missions on the Moon and maybe you will luck out and get some jumpship schematics.

Craig H Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 PS4, holla. And it's like the ECW shirt says, JT: JOIN THE REVOLUTION 1
J.T. Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 At the rate I am sending money to our builder, it is remarkable that I have cash for food, heat, and rent. I dunno if the budget can absorb a new console. When the new crib is done, it will be awesome. The loft will be a video gaming oasis to be sure. 2
misanthrope304 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Getting ready for my first real attempt at the vault of glass...
TheVileOne Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I only got legendary armor and weapons from doing the treasure cave. And an exotic one as well. Just saying.I do Patrol missions too. But I spend some time on treasure cave simply because it yields the best results. Now that I am level 25, crucibles and strikes tend to give me outdated and obsolete gear.
Cristobal Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I played myself through the entire story, completed all the raids and strikes short of VoG, played in the crucible, was level 24, and didn't get a SINGLE piece of legendary anything until Sunday when I started farming the treasure cave. 2
J.T. Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Getting ready for my first real attempt at the vault of glass... When you fall upon your enemy, fall like a thunderbolt.

Thank you Cristobal, this is what I am talking about. It is clearly not just me. I think he was overly harsh, but this was one of Angry Joe's big problems as well. So until Bungie fixes this, people will continue to camp out at Treasure Cave. Also for AxB, I still do Strikes, Patrol, Crucible and all that. I just like to spend some time doing treasure cave for a while. Load up and then go to town in the other stuff. However, I want to do the Level 26 Raid and I want to be good and ready at Lvl 26 before doing so.
AxB Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I was on Cristobal's Strike Team when he was farming the Treasure Cave last night (a bunch of other people were too). Got bored and started doing patrol missions instead. No Ammo was spawning for me anywhere on Earth. Explain that. nb: He told me to turn my headset on. It was on. I took it off when I figured he wasn't wearing his - we were doing Moon Patrol and he seemed to be AFK because I was soloing everything.
Cristobal Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I was farming helium to upgrade my boots, and I had my headset on the whole time. I could hear you but you couldn't hear me. And since you got a legendary engram like a minute into the farming, I think some thanks are in order.
Andrew POE! Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 For the first time in my life, I traded in a game to Gamestop and it is Destiny. It may have been against my better judgment to do so, but it's for the best. I'll pick it back up later whenever Activision/Bungie get done counting the money and realize that 'oh shit, we have a HUGE problem right now.' I'll just keep an eye on this thread but not comment anymore on it -- I think I have long since beat that drum about my dissatisfaction. Those who enjoy it, hey have fun.
AxB Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 The legendary engram I got from the cave was green boots. The one I got for reaching Vanguard Rank 3 was The Comedian.
Cristobal Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I still deserve gratitude. It's Bungie who deserves your ire. I dunno if I'll trade it in, but Rockstar could sure bring me back to GTA Online with the least little bit of new stuff there in a hurry.
