Aside from everything that went down when he left WWE, were there any well known cases of Bret politicing or keeping anyone down?

He had the Rougeaus tag title win get nullified in 87. Jacques was pretty pissed about it, since the Harts were winning them back in two days.

What if the WWE was on a tour of the pacific rim right now and their chartered flight happened to be the one that is currently missing? Do they bother going through with WrestleMania as some sort of bizarre tribute, or is it cancelled all together? Assuming the tour has most of the key members of the roster, how well does the company do after having been forced to basically start from scratch?

I've been wondering lately why the WWE didn't go the Triple Crown route and have their heavyweight champion carry around the WWE, WCW, and ECW titles. Heck, go the full monty and toss in the AWA, and WCCW titles as well. I'm sure WWE would never do this as it would be a sort of admission that other promotions were on their level, but I think it would have been/would be really cool.

IIRC they actually do have contingency plans based around bringing back old timers, promoting youngsters and giving the book to (at the time) JR amongst others.

Ironically enough, this'd be the first year where it probably wouldn't have as immediate a financial impact, as at this point WWE is expecting people to buy (or have bought) the Network rather than order the PPV. Other than that, what FSW said, especially if HHH were on that plane as well and they needed someone to give the book to.

If Dixie Carter were smart, (why do I hear laughter?) she'd try to sell to Vince then and there.

DVDVR would immediately get behind a Regal/Zayn feud for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Clones and zombies.  Vince was planning to eventually replace all the alphas with clones or zombies anyway after Punk walked out.

Show goes on more or less as planned.  Triple H's clone melts after it gets too close to the pyro during an entrance, so Zombie Bryan Danielson (D-Zom) carries a broom to a 4 star match.

D-Zom wins the title in an overbooked mess that sees run-ins from CM Clone, the original Ultimate Warrior (the one that died), and Dolph Ziggler (Dolph wasn't on the plane.  Only his career is actually dead).

Man, if I were booking WCW at the time, I would have definitely paired Greg "The Hammer" Valentine up with Van Hammer. Vignettes of Van Hammer taking him to meet Sammy Hagar, and Greg Valentine looking old and all "fuck, not this shit again" would have been tremendous.

Should this not get over, the Hammers would then be recast as British soccer hooligans from West Ham. There is no reason why Greg Valentine is still on TV post 1990.

I have no idea why I'm so angry he went over Bagwell clean on PPV in 1992. It's 20+ years later, and I really don't care for Bagwell that much.

On a smaller scale, they kinda had to scramble back in 2010/2011(?) when that volcano erupted in Europe when the Raw roster was on tour there and couldn't fly out to make the live Raw on Monday. They had to call in Taker and Lillian Garcia and the Smack Down roster, who helped out which was basically a SmackDown! Show with no storyline IIRC.

The Lilian Garcia call was always puzzling. When Raw is on the verge of wreckage, who thought it was important to get Lilian Garcia?

How WWE would handle it will depend on who is on the tour. Based on the area Batista and Yoshi Tatsu would definitely be there. As this is the build to WM I can see Orton, Bryan, Wyatts, Shield, Rhodes Brothers, and Cena all being there, meaning if the plane goes down/disappears Mania (as we know it) is fucked. WWE would start off Raw with Vince McMahon letting us know that what he is about to tell us if not part of the 'entertainment' aspect of their business and he will proceed to go into the details of what's going on and close with 'out thoughts and prayers are with the WWE superstars and their families and we hope they return home safely." The Raw that follows that statement will look like Main Event/Superstars as the majority of the top guys are missing. Wade Barrett's "Bad News" gimmick would be cancelled immediately as WWE wouldn't want their fans thinking anything 'bad' at this time. This type of thinking will filter down the roster meaning someone Evan Bourne will lose the aviation sounds in his theme music and some of his moves will be renamed, etc.

This would be an excellent time to be someone like RVD as well will surely call him back. WWE would probably guilt Jericho into coming back and for Booker T to lace it up for only a few months (same with JBL). I can see Eve Torres getting a call and WWE would pretty much have to sign over a billion dollar check to CM Punk as WWE would have lost two of its top media sellers (Bryan, Cena). This might work for night one...hell it might work for the first week. But what the fuck would WWE do after that first week? At that point it will be clear to the fans that top guys like Batista, Cena, Orton, and Bryan are NOT COMING BACK AT ALL and WM will change. Again, CM Punk, Kane, Jericho, RVD, Booker T, Taker, Brock, JBL, and a broken down Mysterio would be the main selling points of WM30 - which isn't THAT bad and a tribute video will be shown at the start of the show. I can see CM Punk going over in the mainevent and winning the title and afterwards cutting one of the best 'we have to stay strong and move on' promos in the history of the business.

Anyone WWE was dicking around with (Ziggler, Cesaro, etc.) will automatically become elevated and treated serious as WWE will not be able to afford NOT to fire on all cylinders (as Taker will not be around post Mania, Brock will be there sparingly, Mysterio will get hurt again, JBL will want to go back to commentating, and Jericho will have other projects happening). Punk may walkout at any moment, so WWE will pretty much become his playground which means Colt Cabana will have a job in WWE and within 6 months will be the IC champion. AJ Lee will most likely be on that plane as would one (if not both) of The Bellas. With The Bellas gone, WWE will be able to successfully bring back Maria. WWE would also have to move everyone on NXT who is READY (Sami, Solomon, Bo,Paige, etc.) to the main roster immediately.

Seriously though, Lillian has been with the company for over a decade, so in addition to her ring announcing duties, I'm sure she's more than capable of picking up the slack in cases of emergency.  So it's not a case of putting the cart in front of the horse, as Cibernetico might think

See you later, sport. Mike's impending week off aside, anytime the WWE goes outside the normal format, generally when they're forced, it feels different in special. Just having Lillian there made it feel a bit more like an event, as weird as that sounds on paper.

I know it is a morbid "what if" topic, but I've found the speculation over the last few pages to be fascinating. Certainly I don't want all the big stars – or any stars – to die in a tragic plane crash. But sadly these things do happen, and you never know how they're going to handle it. With as deep a roster as they've got now, they're positioned as well as they've ever been to cover for such a horrible situation.
