Cobra Commander
I recall a DEAN thread back in the old forum which essentially amounted to people posting blood-soaked matches (which may have been a cover story for Dean to post more bloody Puerto Rican matches)... I can't remember what he called that thread well... if you're gonna go bloody, might as well go 1000% with Abdullah Kobayashi unleashing gruesome sentons on Yuko Miyamoto and bleeding from every orifice above his naval. So here's some blood for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJkStCitx9k I can't tell you why this stuff seems less like complete stupidity when it's done in Japan. These matches might be the wrestling equivalent of smoking crystal meth and i'll find that any lighttube match with less than 400 lighttube shots won't do a thing for me now. Morals are overrated when there's a fat man bleeding for our entertainment
mco543
http://youtu.be/c2KWwi5tLW8 I'm not really a fan of deathmatch wrestling and actively hate that shit in indies like CZW and IWA MS but I'll be damned if there isn't something to this match with Kasai and Numazawa. The first time I saw it I was just in awe about the spectacle and thought the razor cuts were the sickest thing I'd ever seen in a wrestling match. I don't go out of my way to watch these and I'm not sure if I've seen one since but I'll always enjoy this one for whatever sick reason.
Cobra Commander
yeah, I won't try to explain how Japanese deathmatch violence seems favorable to US Indy deathmatch violence. Maybe we just feel secure that we won't run into someone who reminds us of Jun Kasai while out in public, while in some areas, there's a variety of people who could pass as Necro Butcher
Curt McGirt
That thread was enormous and I probably contributed a quarter of the posts, so I don't think I can continue in such a fashion now, BUT! Here is your '80s lucha set #1 match. And it is buckets upon buckets of fucking blood. DEAN
I think I saw this before I saw Funk-Onita but either way both matches sealed my burgeoning fascination with FMW and W*ING- which lead to WAR. It was a great time to get into tape trading. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7scsm_fmw-atsushi-onita-vs-genichiro-tenr_sport

Curt McGirt
Goddamn DailyMotion. I've wanted to see that Tenryu/Onita match forever, someone needs to put it on Youtube. Here's more Onita and this one is finally in full, which it hasn't been for years online. Matsunaga is young and uncrippled and the intro is EPIC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n45imqDJUZo EDIT: Side note, listed in the sidebar to this match is Hase vs. Tiger Jeet Singh in an Island Death Match, 44 MINUTES. If anyone can sit through that they deserve a sexual favor of their choosing. Or at least a free movie ticket or something.

JRGoldman
A few years ago there was a pic posted on this board from a Japanese Death Match that was blood just flying off of a dudes face as he was getting slapped. Cobra Commander
I hope they just threw it away instead of trying to clean it it's probably in the giant WWE warehouse space that they store random things in. So, may I interest you in Greg Valentine working Big Japan? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Zstdw3urbE Not sure how much of Valentine's BJPW tour is on tape, but here are the results May 29, 1995 - Hamamatsu, Shizuoka 4. mco543
Here is one I can't believe I forgot about, while it isn't a deathmatch it was really my introduction to Joshi and was (and still is) one of the damnedest things I've ever seen. While I'm sure there's been much bloodier Joshi matches, this is on my shortlist of matches that every wrestling fan needs to see at least once. http://youtu.be/eAOkDH0ZZf4

Lawful Metal
Kudo's retirement match may not be her most brutal, but it's a really damn good match. And she gets her hair set on fire. http://youtu.be/zHcb7sO_rRE And for the life of me I can't remember who was in that exploding pool match where Onita gets stabbed in the stomach with a sickle. That's gotta be on youtube somewhere, right?
Cobra Commander
another known match for the blood bank http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6w1byzpTuiw would have been a lot worse for Val Venis if Wally Yamaguchi persuaded Russo to let Wally blade Val's head instead of doing the choppy thing
The Z
This match is batshit insane and highly cringe-inducing and also came very far in the Purotopia poll that year, if I remember correctly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAwkDixnQ04
Lawful Metal
This may not be Kudo's most brutal match, but it is a damn good match. Plus, Kudo's hair gets set on fire. http://youtu.be/zHcb7sO_rRE And I'm blanking on the rest of the participants in the exploding pool match where Onita gets stabbed in the stomach. It was a six-man no rope exploding barbwire exploding pool match where if you got thrown into the pool, the pool explodes. And Onita gets stabbed in the stomach and lit on fire. But he has fighting spirit! It's gotta be on youtube somewhere.
