Hagan Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Yeah, the Usos are incredible. Not that I want Cody and Goldust to break up, but the Usos should probably win the tag belts at 'Mania and take the lead babyface role. I like their superkicks, too. The Bray promo was so great. It's amazing the amount of backstory they throw into his character and promos. The stuff about Abigail, his father etc. The vagueness of it helps it all. So many promos have too much exposition. Like Jake Roberts, an effective heel promo from a creepy character should leave you confused and unsettled. I also really liked The Shield promo. They have their characters down so well. They're not cartoonish heels (like a lot of guys are in WWE), they're really honest in their promos, and none of them pander to the fans in any way. Even Reigns, who we know is going babyface sooner than later, still acts like a mean motherfucker. I will weep if we ever have smiling Roman Reigns doing shit with Hornswoggle one day. 1
Tromatagon Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 eh I'm sure the next tag team to win the belts will be some shitty singles combination featuring Kofi Kingston
Jrag Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 The Shield, Bray and Punk/Kane promo's were all great. I was already on board with HHH/Punk because I'm not sure where else either guy would fit in on the WM card, but the ending actually started to get me excited for the feud. Punk taking the hard road should be a fun lead up. It was probably Punk's best promo in a few months. His schtick works so much better against the Authority than it did during the Heyman feud.
The Man Known as Dan Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I see Gonzalez has found his new "These guys are getting real popular so I need to start talking about how much I hate them" project. Good luck with that!
Gonzalez Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 eh I'm sure the next tag team to win the belts will be some shitty singles combination featuring Kofi Kingston Air Boom doesn't get enough love around here.
Joe Fixit Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 eh I'm sure the next tag team to win the belts will be some shitty singles combination featuring Kofi KingstonAir Boom doesn't get enough love around here. Probably because they only tagged together for like three months.
Jrag Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Or maybe because that is one of the worst tag team names of all time.
Gonzalez Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 At least they have their own wiki page. Can't say the same for the team of RVD & Booker T.
The Man Known as Dan Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 And I'm not sure they would be in my top 5 Matt Sydal/Evan Bourne short term team ups.
NintendoLogic Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 The Usos have always struck me as just another team operating within the hidebound WWE tag formula. But after that Gonzalez post, I think I'll have to give them a second look. 4
MADCAP Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 The Uso's have gotten alot better, but dammit their superkicks are awful. They only connect to the head about 10% of the time. The others look like savate(for pro wrestling anyways) kicks. And as far as having a Somoan mystique, they don't seem quite as fearless as their predecessors.
GuerrillaMonsoon Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Rikishi, dude. Come on. The streets changed him, in all fairness.
Gonzalez Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Blame Captain Lou. That son of a bitch made him wear boots which then lead him into the world of hardcore drugs. 2
GuerrillaMonsoon Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Just like The Tonga Kid before him...damn ghetto blasters got a lot to answer for.
