J.T.
I Hate Christian Laettner = million billion stars. What an awesome documentary. Oh, and Fuck Christian Laettner.
Tabe
In case you're still pissed off over last night's game, the Christian Laettner doc is now on Netflix streaming.
FireThunder
I watched Elway to Marino today. Pretty entertaining stuff, with a lot of fun little stories woven into the fabric of the 1983 NFL Draft.
Just Dave
I really enjoyed the Laettner 30 for 30. I eagerly await the sequel, "I hope JJ Redick dies slowly in a fire."
Charlie M.
The Redick hate hasn't seemed to last as long as Laettner. He would get booed like heck by the 10 people at Charlotte games while he was in Orlando but outside of that, it really went away pretty quickly. Josh Mann
Right about the point Redick was about to be canonized,he had that horrible slump at the end of his last year at Duke. And that was the end of it.
Brian Fowler
People hate Reddick because he went to Duke. People hate Duke because Laettner went to Duke.
Just Dave
For me, as a Georgia Tech alum, it goes back to a phantom call at the end of the ACC tourney. Redick slapped Jarrett Jack in the dick, and then refs called a foul on Jarrett's dick. Redick got more preferential treatment from refs than any Dook player I can remember. Fuck him in the ear... Joe Lucia
ESPN usually dumps the press release in July or August for the first six that'll air in October/November/Heisman. None of what was announced at upfronts this week gets me going all that much...I don't like the mainstream stories.

I agree...from my understand of what the 30 for 30's where supposed to be about was the sports stories that we didnt know about or didnt get huge pub at the time. Burgundy LaRue
They haven't followed that concept tightly, though. I daresay OJ got plenty of coverage 21 years ago.
muhammedboehm
They haven't followed that concept tightly, though. I daresay OJ got plenty of coverage 21 years ago. But the OJ one was more focused on all the other sporting events that took place that day and how the chase effected those events. Death From Above
Yeah that was never the concept. The very first 30 for 30 was about the biggest sports trade in the last 50 years, broke no new ground, and actually missed like three quarters of the interesting stuff we already know. Joe Lucia
From Wiki, the "official" explanation... The idea for the 30 for 30 series began with ESPN.com columnist and Grantland.com founder Bill Simmons, who wanted feature filmmakers to recount the sports stories, people, and events of which they took a personal interest or involvement in, however great or small, and felt had not been fully explored. The Nature Boy
I selfishly enjoyed the 30 for 30 on the last 4 games of 2004 ALCS. But I'm a Sox fan and that was as close to watching porn as I can get on basic cable.
Brian Fowler
Pete Carroll makes sense. From twice failed nfl has coach to a dominate college program and being the first coach since Jimmie to win titles at both levels, plus the scandals and controversy. hammerva
The Pete Carroll one only makes sense if they go into detail his role in USC getting probation and him leaving out the back door before the authorities came in
