That probably IS why he's doing it. Either that or he needs to harvest their essences to stay immortal or something equally insane.

I didn't see this posted elsewhere here, but host of the Dating Game, Name That Tune and Bullseye, Jim Lange died at 81 at the end of Feb and John Henson, Jim's son who played Sweetums after the original puppeteer couldn't do it any longer died of a heart attack at 48.

So E! is doing its first ever scripted show about a fictional UK royal family starring Liz Hurley:

Queen Helena (Hurley) has the power, beauty and intelligence to get anything and everything she wants. And failure isn’t an option, especially when it comes to protecting her family’s image, which she will stop at nothing to control. King Simon (Regan) is a moral compass amidst the chaos of palace life. He is a good king, yet one who controversially places his own family above the people he rules. The youngest son of Simon and Helena, Liam (Moseley) is thrust into the spotlight when he unexpectedly becomes the heir apparent in the pilot. Liam enjoys the many perks of being the world’s most eligible bachelor while coping with the rigors and pressures that come with being the future King. Sole daughter Eleanor (Park) is a controversial princess whose bad choices play out in the tabloids, much to the Royals’ chagrin. She is raw, intelligent and forever waging a battle between her desires to be young and independent and the rules and tradition she was raised to live by. Ophelia, a young American girl, is modern, self-reliant and independently thinking, which causes her to butt up against the traditions and rigidity of the Royal family when she embarks on a romance with Liam. The monarchy is a world she has known for a long time as her father is the head of security, but she now experiences the spotlight in a different, more personal way when she starts dating the prince.

Eleanor’s new bodyguard Jasper (Austen) is as confident and charismatic as he is cunning and duplicitous. He will prove to be one of the few people in Eleanor’s life who can match wits and cunning with her. Cyrus (Maskall), the nefarious brother of King Simon, has gone through life with none of the responsibility, but all of the benefits of a King’s existence. He is a man of dubious moral fiber who will stop at nothing to reverse the injustice of being second born. Prince Liam’s bodyguard, Marcus (Roach), becomes a knowing confidant for the wayward prince. Marcus has a great sense of integrity that belies his youth; time and again, he will prove his mettle in protecting his charge. Ted (Milburn) is head of the Royals’ security detail and the father of Ophelia. He is steadfastly dedicated to keeping a professional distance from the Royal family, which becomes nearly impossible when Ophelia and Liam become romantically involved.

Shocked CW didn't pick this up first.

I think we found the first instance of CW passing on a show yet still making it to TV regardless.

I hope E! just go all out with the silliness and cast Bruce Jenner (complete with terrible accent) as the stuffy British prime minister who has to sit the king down and tell him to sort his troublesome family out.

From what I hear lately, Jenner might be better casted as the Queen.

Seriously, though, can we call CW the biggest fail network ever? (OK, there's NBC, but at least they were enormously successful at some point.)

Granted they churn out decent shows from time to time (Arrow, Nikita) but most of what they produce is absolutely awful. I really don't understand the idea of being a broadcast network trying to appeal to a niche group (teenage girls).  Then you should be a cable channel, in that case.

Honestly, one of the few times I ever sympathized with Vince McMahon was when SmackDown, despite being the highest rated show on the network and incredibly cheap programming, got kicked off the air by CW execs because it didn't focus enough on pretty teenagers and their problems.

My wife is freaking me out by how much she is into this NatGEo show about the most disgusting predators on earth.  Every time some poor little mouse or SLoth (Yes a whole fucking SLOTH) gets horrifically torn apart or melted by acid or eaten from the inside out by larvae she's all "Whooooa....Ewwww, Yeeeeeeah.  LOOK...ARE YOU LOOKING YOUHAVETOLOOK!!!!!"

Guys, I'm afraid of this woman.

Cosmos was so good. I loved the original and didn't think anyone could be as engaging as Carl Sagan but Neil Degrasse Tyson proved me wrong. Who says TV can't be educational and entertaining atthe same time?

They probably somehow did even before Cosmos. Episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine are probably more informative than 900 shows about restoring cars and alien conspiracies.

I like Ancient Aliens though :/  At least the early ones, because I actually DO subscribe to some of the theories.  It wasn't until they started REALLY reaching that I lost interest.

As far as I can tell from that show, there is not a single thing that has happened on this planet in the last 4000 years that wasn't done by aliens.

Well, my old man used to say that Barney Miller was the most accurate representation of what really went on inside a police station, so I'd wager if he were still alive to tell me, he'd say that Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a more accurate police procedural than L&O:SVU.

So the statement is true.

It's solid and you know, often times I like to sit down and have a nice home cooked meal. Then there are the random days where I enjoy Taco Bell. Say hello to Hardcore Pawn.

I watched Hardcore Pawn once and saw a guy pawn his prosthetic leg and a woman pawn her microwave for $15.  Then I just had to turn off the TV and be sad for a while.

Pawn Stars is okay but I don't really feel the need to watch more than one episode, much less the endless marathons History seems to run.

I've been to the shop, not surprisingly it's a dumpy little place in a low income part of Vegas.
