Tabe
Read the article - introduce the kid early enough and he won't know any better. This particular kid is a bit of a freak though - beating ridiculously hard games at the age of 6 & 7, for example.

Besides, I was mostly kidding.
Death From Above
Let's be honest if your kid is too thick to enjoy a quality 16 bit game you should probably give him away to an orphanage anyway.
Guest The Magnificent 7
Yeah, my kids play my Genesis all the time, and when they have money to spend they will sometimes spend it on Genesis games.. Good games are good games. If you expose the older games to them they will like them. We all started playing that Volgarr the Viking game on Xbox One, which is a 16-bit game if there ever was one. They love it, and I do too. I don't really want them playing FPS's yet, so the older style games is what I encourage them to play. They need to play outside, though, too. Screen time is an hour a day max. I'm not producing any basement dwellers.

Cliff Hanger
I have started playing NES Remix. Also, if anyone wants to come to my house and unlock the Duck Hunt stage on Smash Bros. Wii U, there is a zero percent chance I will ever manage it on my own. I'll totally be your friend and buy you dinner.

Use Shulk in Cruel Smash and just keep repeatedly spamming his Down B move (Counter). You'll get a kill. Guarantee.
NikoBaltimore
Duck Hunt dog wasn't that bad. I just used the "stick and move" approach and it worked out pretty well. And that kid is awesome. It seemed like a nifty experiment that worked out really well for both.
Cliff Hanger
Beating the dog wasn't that bad to beat, but to get his stage you have to score a kill in Cruel. The funny thing is, the list I was looking at said this would unlock Lucina, not DHD. So I guess I still get to play a ton of one stock cpu matches for her. Lucina is unlocked by beating Classic Mode above 5.5 Intensity. Try my Shulk strategy to unlock the Duck Hunt stage. Spam Counter. I think Cliff may have me on ignore... Cliff Hanger
Well, I *do* have you on ignore but seem to end up reading all your posts (in threads I was reading) manually anyway. Thank you for the advice on Cruel Smash, it ended up taking me a dozen or so tries just because of timing but I did finally get 3 KOs on Wii U and 4 on 3DS. I don't know why I got Lucina and Duck Hunt's unlock conditions confused. I need to make sure I order the Sonic and Mega Man amiibos, and Lucina whenever she comes out, to make sure I don't miss out on them entirely. My plan was to get either MM or Sonic and leave it there, but at $13 I'd rather buy a couple extra than say 'gee, I wish I'd gotten the only Fire Emblem licensed merch we're ever going to see' in ten years. Death From Above
Still playing Hammerwatch. The Temple of the Sun campaign is way, way harder than the first game campaign. Whoever designed it is an evil, evil man that played a lot of classic games. Tough but still fun, big step up in challenge. Having said that this Frost Sorcerer boss is damn near impossible solo. This is some NES Ghosts N Goblins stuff.
Shane
Picked up Steamworld Dig for $3 on Steam. Between that and Binding of Isaac, I've bought two games for under five bucks combined in the past few weeks and have put in 15 or so hours of gameplay so far. I like that math. Isaac might be the best gaming deal I've ever gotten. 11 hours (so far) for less than $
twiztor
stopped at 4 different stores to get the new Amiibos that supposedly came out today. two of said stores had them in stock, but couldn't sell them to me. one store said that there weren't any coming out. the two that had them gave me two different release dates (tuesday and wednesday), and the fourth store said they hadn't received any yet. pain in my ass. Big Fresh
I wasn't planning on getting them all, but now I'm 3 short (from the first run) and they look so nice, I just decided to go ahead and do it. I'll have to get a display case eventually.
EVA
Damn, SHADOW OF MORDOR is addictive. I booted it up this afternoon just thinking I'd sample it for a few minutes, but I ended up playing it for almost 3 hours. Like, I'm amazed at how easily it sucks you in to that world and all the minigames and XP grinding. It's the polar opposite of UNITY. I'm gonna have some fun with this on Christmas vacation...if I can keep myself from diving in headfirst before then.
Stay Gold
I've only played about 2 hours of Mordor, but in those 2 hours I found myself just hunting Orcs. I did one story mission during all that time. Love how an orc ranks up and gets more powerful if he kills you. I went on grudge hunts about 5 times trying to take them down. It was great. Destiny gets most of my time now and I'm almost done with my second play through of Evil Within, but I figure I'll go back to Mordor in a week.
EVA
Swear to god, almost as soon as I started the game, I took a wrong turn in Albuquerque and ended up in a big battle royale with 3 or 4 war chiefs and their crews. I picked off one of them, but I was so new to the game that I really had no chance. I thought about restarting, but when I saw the board reshuffle, I was hooked. The Orc who killed me got himself a new rank and badass title, and I was like, "Uh-uh, fuck you, dude. You're not getting over at my expense."
