2014 UPCOMING MOVIES/CASTING/TERRIBLE PROJECTS...

See, I can understand remaking films that could be upgraded with today's technology...etc.  but Point Break? There's not a chance in hell this comes anywhere close to the original.

There's been new Presidents elected since the original.  Obviously, they're going to rob banks wearing George W. Bush masks now.

That's why

Jake Busey.  If it was Gary Busey it might have a shot.

The cover also makes it look like porn.  Although, if it was porn it'd be titled Rode House 2 (Chicks At The Same Time).

Just kidding, if it was porn it'd be titled Not Road House XXX The Official Parody or some such.  Porn producers have gotten just as lazy as regular Hollywood producers.

Based on the trailer it almost seems like a more serious Hitchhiker's Guide riff.  Looks interesting, but then I also liked CLOUD ATLAS

I like Cloud Atlas (mainly because I'm a cinematography whore), but it's INCREDIBLY long. The non-linear storytelling doesn't help that either.

So Legend of Hercules comes out today.  It looks to have earned the rarest of all unicorns.... a  ZERO on Rotten Tomatoes.

Congratulations to Kellen Lutz!  This is, however, how I will always remember him:

Considering even the most drizzling pieces of shit get at least 5-10 percent, just HOW bad must this movie be? Not that it is surprising after watching the previews, WOOF.

It's at 3% now.  Village Voice gave it a positive review for having lots of shirtless guys.  I'm not kidding.

I'm surprised it took this long for that marketing ploy to catch on. RT has reached the point where you can talk to anyone that has an internet connection about movies and go "They got 65%," and 9/10 they'll know what you're talking about. Unless they're really old or lame.

Tarantino's next project has been announced:

Just before the holidays, Quentin Tarantino revealed that his follow-up to Django Unchained would be another Western. Today, Tarantino is reported to be finishing his Western script titled The Hateful Eight, which he hopes to direct this summer, according to sources. (Another source said there is no timetable at this stage.) The title suggests Tarantino could be upping the ante, playing off the title of John Sturges' 1960 film The Magnificent Seven, which in turn was a remake of Akira Kurosawa's 1954 Seven Samurai.

No one has been cast yet, but Tarantino has reached out to veteran casting director Victoria Thomas, who worked on Django, to work with him on casting the movie, say several insiders. A part has been written for Christoph Waltz, who starred in Tarantino's Django and Inglourious Basterds. Deadline reports that Tarantino is also eyeing Bruce Dern in the movie.

Pilar Savone, who served as a producer on Django and acted as an associate producer on Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Death Proof after being his assistant, is producing Hateful Eight. It’s unclear who is financing and who will distribute, although the Weinstein Co. is the most likely candidate to be involved in both capacities, due to its long-standing relationship with the filmmaker.

Quentin Tarantino Eyeing Christoph Waltz and Bruce Dern for THE HATEFUL EIGHT

If the movie films this coming summer, then it'll probably be released in late 2015, which is actually right on target of how often he releases a movie at 3 years.  If the movie is about "The Hateful Eight" then I assume it'll have 8 main characters and we'll get some very interesting casting in those 8 roles, assuming that Waltz and Dern are two of those roles.  QT is attracting A List talent now with Foxx and DiCaprio in DU and Pitt in IB, wonder which big names he lands this time.
