TUESDAY IS SONG STUCK IN YOUR HEAD DAY!

Recommended Posts

With a pair of clogged nostrils

Swaying in a rhythm out of time
So I can be found
Hanging by the wall
A glassy eyed bystander
Oh you should see
These marvels passing me
There is no end to innovation
Bells and whistles everywhere
Impractical dresses throng the floor

That’s tradition
One I fully understand
It dulls my senses
Razes my barriers
Takes these shackles off of me
The daily grind
The trifling pleasures
Just celebrate
Drooling and barely awake

Someone bumps into me
Brings me back to earth
Covers me in kisses
Showers me with praise
Very charming

But please keep it to yourself

And if you’re in trouble
And don’t know where to turn
Join us in this throbbing hall
Join us
Soothe your nerves!
Better keep it to yourself

HUSH!

That’s tradition
One I truly understand
It dulls my senses
Razes my barriers
Tradition
Shyness doesn't exist
It’s blissfully forgotten
It couldn't survive here

Tradition
It alters everything
It offers new perspective
Temporary confidence
Takes these shackles off of me
The daily grind
The trifling pleasures
Just celebrate
Drooling and barely awake

Its a live version of "dead skin mask." i think its one of those rare times that i prefer a live version to the studio. The bass is more prominent and the drumming is boss as hell.

you're an actor for an actor

performing for performers
something you do, i do
you get me there i'll help you out
you call and i'll come back around
something you do, i do
and all this time resting on your laurels
will all be for naught
are you seeing him professionally

i'm an actor for an actor
performing for performers
something you do, i do
count your blessings where they see em
show em how you're living
weaponize your happiness
and all this time poaching on a new front
for trading places on the stages
posing with the famous
act as if you're one of them
and turn into the villain
this is how you become the villain

an actor for an actor
cold shapeshifter
something you do, i do
you get me there i'll help you out
you call and i'll come back around
something you do, i do
use all your time to paint yourself the victim
strengthen up your branding
in bed with your connections
broadcasting your blessings
faking all your smiles
and turn into the villain

i don't mean to make you sad but i do

One of those days for me at work. This is the last truly great Queen song for my money.

When the outside temperature rises

And the meaning is oh so clear
One thousand and one yellow daffodils
Begin to dance in front of you (oh dear)

Are they trying to tell you something?
You're missing that one final screw
You're simply not in the pink my dear
To be honest you haven't got a clue

I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened, happened
It finally happened, ooh oh
It finally happened
I'm slightly mad
Oh dear!

I'm one card short of a full deck
I'm not quite the shilling
One wave short of a shipwreck
I'm not at my usual top billing

I'm coming down with a fever
I'm really out to sea
This kettle is boiling over
I think I'm a banana tree

Oh dear

I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened, happened
It finally happened uh huh
It finally happened I'm slightly mad
oh dear!

I'm knitting with only one needle
Unraveling fast it's true
I'm driving only three wheels these days
But my dear how about you?

I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened
It finally happened oh yes
It finally happened
I'm slightly mad!
Just very slightly mad!

And there you have it!

Yes on me, it's poor me, you must take pity on poor me
I ain't got nobody, take pity on poor me
You may go, you may stay,
but she'll come back some sweet day
By and by, sweet mama, by and by
Don't the moon look pretty shinin' down through the tree?
Oh, I can see Bertha Lee,
Lord, but she can't see me
You may go, you may stay,
but she'll come back some sweet day
By and by, sweet mama,
baby won't you, by and by
You may go, you may stay,
but she'll come back some sweet day
By and by, sweet mama, by and by
Yes on me, it's poor me,
you must have pity on poor me
I ain't got nobody,
take pity on poor me
Don't the moon look pretty shinin' down through the tree?
Oh, I can see Bertha Lee,
but she can't see me
You may go, you may stay,
but she'll come back some sweet day
By and by, sweet mama,
oh baby, won't you, by and by

These kids are my new obsession.  And while "Infinity Guitars" is the bigger earworm, this is the better video.

A year in the hole had taken its toll
When I took a good look at me
And what a surprise
The scope of my eyes could only see black

And I remember someone who was taking them two by two
And lately I'd become the one who'd have laughed at you too

There was a black flag on my morning
There was a black flag on my day
There was a black flag on everything around
And I was walking backwards again

I walked in the day, my usual way, looking through a 2X4
It colored my view, I couldn't see you
Or maybe I just wouldn't

And I remember the time when the sunlight fell on my head
And lately I'd become a member of the walking dead

There was a black flag on my morning
There was a black flag on my day
There was a black flag on everything around
And I was walking backwards again

And I know that I was wrong
It was up to me if I wanted to see

And I remember the day when I saw the mask on my face
And I knew that it was time to put the thing in its place

I put the black flag on my morning
I put the black flag on my day
I put the black flag on everything around
And I was walking backwards again

And I know that I was wrong

You said you was hurtin, you almost lost your mind.

Now, the man you love, he hurt you all the time.

But, when things go wrong, oh, wrong with you,

It hurts me too.

You'll love him more when you should love him less.

Why lick up behind him and take his mess?

But, when things go wrong, whoa, wrong with you,

It hurts me too.

He love another woman, yes, I love you,

But, you love him and stick to him like glue.

When things go wrong, oh, wrong with you,

It hurts me too.

Now, he better leave you or you better put him down.

No, I won't stand to see you pushed around.

But, when things go wrong, oh, wrong with you,

It hurts me too.

I bet you never heard ol' Marshall Dillon say
"Miss Kitty, have you ever thought of runnin' away?
And settling' down, would you marry me?
If I asked you twice and begged you pretty please?"

Lord, she'd have said yes in a New York minute
They never tied the knot
His heart wasn't in it, he just stole a kiss and he rode away
He never hung his hat up at Kitty's place

This has been stuck in my head for a month now. Ugh. I hate Toby Keith.

I wouldn't mind if you took me in my sleep tonight
I wouldn't even put up a fight
I wouldn't care if you took it all away today
I'm sure I wouldn't even miss the pain

But I know I've got to live my life
And roll around on the ground and feel the strife
And realize along the way that I'm nothing more
Than a grain of salt in the salt of the eart
And everything is grace

So come on with the darkness
Come on with the fear
Cause I've got to start somewhere
And it might as well be here

When I'm finally naked and standing in the sunlight
I'll look back at all of this selfishness and foolish pride
And laugh at myself

It's been all rebel songs and love raps this last week, so here's one of each.

they'll slap you on the face with their glove
they'll dip you in the pitcher of their bloodshot love
look at 'em, standing staid in their ridiculous robes
while i stand in your moat

have you ever thought that all their distain
was just a saucer eyed child shrinking from the food chain?
all their disapproving good friday fixed grins
were effortlessly wrong about most everything

time where i'm from lumbers on
the guilty ain't got no idea that they're time will come
they're sinners, they're saints and they state which in boasts
you can stand in their moat

i can stand in your moat

they're ranting and raving, how bad can things get
man the sideshow's always louder than the main event
more ambitious than a virgin newly widowed
duty bound as a tourist in Rome

the prosecution's trebling and the padre's backpedaling
but a rest just seems more likely than a stint
while back at Free Market Mint the atom smashers warp the press
but can't confess to anyone downwind

'cause they're sleepwalking tall, rich or poor
from silk broadsheets down to tabloid floors
and they'll be up in their keep making toasts to some creep
while i'm stripping down to my smalls

i can stand in your moat

new research proves that it's fair
to see insults as nothing but snares
history has shown life is short then you die
i'm arse deep in their moat once i find the time

it's cold on the outside they say
but the cold keeps you clear while the heat leaves a haze
they should take a cool dip in the shade of their walls
with the lily pads tickling their face

bad good luck caught them unaware
there ain't no immortality there
yet i squint from my lunch to the metal screech and sun
of the street and i'm lighter than air

i can stand in your moat

nothing needs reforming more than anyone else
they'll tell you while they conjure your plight
all of them old men just line their pockets with fear
then make you greedy when your money gets tight

but if their brains were a gut it'd sound like a swamp
being so starved and bereft of a song
and when the quick fox of reason gets into their brunch
thou doth protest way too fucking much

don't let 'em abuse you, don't let 'em use you
like a saddle for their high high horse
if life means more to you than a grave with a view
then it probably means you're on course
and you know
you can stand in their moat
i can stand in your moat.

All the hits, all the time.

Including a decent remix of diesel power.

Nirvana smark aspect aside (not going to bother), this whole show is worth checking out, as it's the last one during the best era of the band (Sept. '90 to Jan. '93).
