Yeah so that's been in my head all night now. My eyes, luckily, have not turned the color of frozen meat however.

I should have been in bed asleep two hours ago. But I fell down a Haim/Paramore/Alanis/Cranberries youtube hole.

I regret nothing.

Manowar's "Dark Avenger" was in my head ALL DAY yesterday and if I was on my laptop I would torture you with it now

Dunno why this is stuck in there.  Lack of sleep maybe.

Thinking of partying days brought this one back... Not that I recommend taking various psychoactive substances, but it was what it was...

There are worse things to have stuck in your head than Guy Clark's music

This happened this past Tuesday, at least...

But they were playing the undying earworm "Red Red Wine" by UB40 at the grocery store the other day, and, after 30 years of listening to it, I finally figured out some of the lyrics! He's not saying "makes me funky" - he's saying "makes me forget"!! Maybe I'll understand the rest of the song before the world kersplodes!

You said you wanted to see Paris
So I took you to the movie
"Bon Amie" or something french like that
And then you said you were embarrassed
Because I never bought you jewelry
Televison shopping fixed all that

Funny thing
'Cause I haven't seen you lately
When I called your house
It wasn't you who told me

I heard it all
From your dad
I used up all my money on you baby
And I want it back

I want it back
I used up all my money tryin' to please ya
Now I want it back

Want it all back
Want it all back

Do you remember late last winter
You said that you had nothin' to wear
Those fake fur pajamas looked real nice
I couldn't take you to Miami
But took you to the ocean and we
Had some blue Hawaii on the beach

Let me think
If I add up all you owe me
And include my time
I might make it through the summer

And I guess that
Ain't too bad
I used up all my money on you baby
And I want it back

I want it back
I used up all my money tryin' to please ya
Now I want it back

Want it all back
Said I want it all back
Gimme my money all back
Want my money all back

Reading the "Land of Confusion" header gets Phil Collins stuck in my head, and that only seems to be successfully remedied by better Phil Collins songs (note I didn't say 'good').

Well, OK, maybe one good one. Always like "Against All Odds" too much. Hooray for playing that on repeat and brooding over my ex. Fuck my earworm-sensitive life. In the ear, no less.

Now everybody, have you heard
If you're in the game, then the stroke's the word
Don't take no rhythm, don't take no style
Gotta thirst for killin', grab your vial uh

Put your right hand out, give a firm handshake
Talk to me about that one big break
Spread your ear pollution, both far and wide
Keep your contributions by your side and

Stroke me, stroke me
Could be a winner boy you move mighty well
Stroke me, stroke me (stroke)
Stroke me, stroke me
You got your number down
Stroke me, stroke me
Say you're a winner but babe, you're just a sinner now

Put your left foot out, keep it all in place
Work your way right into my face
First you try to bet me, you make my backbone slide
When you find you've bled me, slip on by, and

Stroke me, stroke me
Give me the reason this is all night long
Stroke me, stroke me (Stroke)
Stroke me, stroke me
Get yourself together boy
Stroke me, stroke me
Say you're a winner but man you're just a sinner now
(Stroke, stroke, stroke, stroke, stroke, stroke, stroke)

Better listen now
Said it ain't no joke
Don't let your conscience fail ya'
Just do the stroke
Don't ya' take no chances
Keep your eye on top
Do your fancy dances
You can't stop you just

Stroke me, stroke me
(Stroke, stroke)
Stroke me, stroke me
(Stroke, stroke)
Stroke me, stroke me
(Stroke, stroke)
Stroke me, stroke me
(Stroke) do it
Stroke me, stroke me
(Stroke)
Stroke me, stroke me (keep on)
(Stroke)
Stroke me, stroke me
(Stroke)
Stroke me, stroke me
Say you're a winner but man you're just a sinner now

After all the FF7 talk in the game twist thread, my brain is now doing a mashup of Aeris' death music and "Falling" from Twin Peaks.

Beats Phil Collins.

Actually woke up with this playing in my head. I haven't listened to Rainbow in a while, either

EDIT: Nevermind, it was on SiriusXM on Ozzy's Boneyard in my dad's ride the other day, so that's to blame probably

This colonized my head last week and is still there. The GF has asked me to please not sing it any more.

Let's begin
Peter Pumpkinhead came to town
Spreading wisdom and cash around
Fed the starving and housed the poor
Showed the Vatican what gold's for
But he made too many enemies
Of the people who would keep us on our knees
Hooray for Peter Pumpkin
Who'll pray for Peter Pumpkinhead?
Oh my!
Peter Pumpkinhead fooled them all
Emptied churches and shopping malls
When he spoke, it would raise the roof
Peter Pumpkinhead told the truth
But he made too many enemies
Of the people who would keep us on our knees
Hooray for Peter Pumpkin
Who'll pray for Peter Pumpkinhead?
Oh my!
Peter Pumpkinhead put to shame
Governments who would slur his name
Plots and sex scandals failed outright
Peter merely said
Any kind of love is alright
But he made too many enemies
Of the people who would keep us on our knees
Hooray for Peter Pumpkin
Who'll pray for Peter Pumpkinhead?
Peter Pumpkinhead was too good
Had him nailed to a chunk of wood
He died grinning on live TV
Hanging there he looked a lot like you
And an awful lot like me!
But he made too many enemies
Of the people who would keep us on our knees
Hooray for Peter Pumpkin
Who'll pray for Peter Pumpkinhead?
Hooray for Peter Pumpkin
Who'll pray for Peter Pumpkin
Hooray for Peter Pumpkinhead
Oh my oh my oh!
Don't it make you want to cry, oh

I spent my day at work listening to Billy Joe Shaver, Guy Clark and John Prine, so it makes perfect sense that this got stuck in my head.
