TUESDAY IS SONG STUCK IN YOUR HEAD DAY!

Kind of an obvious thing to get stuck in my brain right about now.  That last line still give me chills.

I played the Red River Valley
He'd sit in the kitchen and cry
Run his fingers through seventy years of livin'
And wonder, "Lord, why has every well I've drilled gone dry?"

We were friends, me and this old man
We's like desperados waitin' for a train
Desperados waitin' for a train

He's a drifter, a driller of oil wells
He's an old school man of the world
He taught me how to drive his car when he was too drunk to
And he'd wink and give me money for the girls
And our lives was like, some old Western movie
Like desperados waitin' for a train
Like desperados waitin' for a train

From the time that I could walk he'd take me with him
To this bar called the Green Frog Cafe
There was old men with beer guts and dominos
Lying 'bout their lives while they played
I was just a kid, they all called me "Sidekick"
Just like desperados waitin' for a train
Like desperados waitin' for a train

One day I looked up and he's pushin' eighty
He's got brown tobacco stains all down his chin
Well to me he's one of the heroes of this country
So why's he all dressed up like them old men
Drinkin' beer and playin' Moon and Forty-two
Jus' like desperados waitin' for a train
Like a desperado waitin' for a train

The day 'fore he died I went to see him
I was grown and he was almost gone.
So we just closed our eyes and dreamed us up a kitchen
Wrote another verse to that old song
(spoken) Come on, Jack, that son-of-a-bitch is comin'

We're desperados waitin' for a train
Was like desperados waitin' for a train

Acintya bheda abheda Tattva
Tattva
Acintya bheda abheda Tattva
Tattva, acintya bheda abheda Tattva
Acintya bheda abheda Tattva
Tattva, acintya bheda abheda Tattva

Like the flower and the scent of summer
Like the sun and the shine
Well, the truth may come in strange disguises
Send the message to your mind

Acintya bheda abheda Tattva
Tattva, acintya bheda abheda Tattva
Acintya bheda abheda Tattva
Tattva, acintya bheda abheda Tattva

At the moment that you wake from sleeping
And you know it's all a dream
Well, the truth may come in strange disguises
Never knowing what it means

Acintya bheda bheda Tattva
Tattva, acintya bheda bheda Tattva

For you will be tomorrow
Like you have been today
If this was never ending
What more can you say?

Acintya bheda abheda Tattva
Tattva, acintya bheda abheda Tattva

Acintya bheda abheda Tattva

I watched "Bad Times at the El Royale"(really good movie btw) the other day and I've had "Can't Hurry Love" stuck in my head ever since. I've always loved the Phil Collins version, and for shoot had no idea it was a Supremes cover all these years.

One of the real negatives of working retail is that you have to listen to the SAME GODDAMNED FUCKING SONGS EVERY FOUR HOURS thanks to the in-store radio network.

I've developed an almost pathological hatred for The Pretenders' "Back on the Chain Gang," and if I ever meet Chrissie Hynde, I'm going to ask her why she was too fucking lazy to put some more lyrics into the song instead of just putting more and more "oh oh ohs" into it.

(I don't know if you can, but can you get an order for Ons, that's O-N-S,
Junior Market, the address is 1934 East Anaheim, all the windows are busted out
And it's like a free-for-all in here
And uh the owner should at least come down here,

see if he can secure his business if he wants to)

April 26th, 1992
There was a riot on the streets
Tell me where were you?
You were sittin' home watchin' your TV
While I was participating in some anarchy
First spot we hit it was my liquor store
I finally got all that alcohol I can't afford
With red lights flashin', time to retire
And then we turned that liquor store into a structure fire
Next stop we hit, it was the music shop,
It only took one brick to make that window drop
Finally we got our own P.A.
Where do you think I got this guitar that you're hearing today?

(Call fire, respond Mobil station
Alamitos & Anahiem
It's uhh flamin' up good
10-4 Alamitos & Anaheim)

Homicide, never doin' no time

When we returned to the pad to unload everything
It dawned on me that I need new home furnishings
So once again we filled the van until it was full
Since that day my livin' room's been much more comfortable
'Cause everybody in the hood has had it up to here
It's getting harder, and harder, and harder each and every year
Some kids went in a store with their mother
I saw her when she came out she was gettin' some Pampers
They said it was for the black man
They said it was for the Mexican, and not for the white man
But if you look at the streets, it wasn't about Rodney King
It's this fucked-up situation and these fucked-up police
It's about comin' up and stayin' on top
And screamin' 1-8-7 on a motherfuckin' cop
It's ain't in the paper, it's on the wall
National guard
Smoke from all around

(Units, units be advised there is an attempt 211 to arrest now at 938 Temple
938 temple, 30 subjects with bags, trying to get inside the CB's house)

(As long as I'm alive, I'mma live illegal)

Let it burn, wanna let it burn
Wanna let it burn, wanna wanna let it burn

(I'm feelin' sad and blue)

Riots on the streets of Miami
Oh, riots on the streets of Chicago
Oh, on the streets of Long Beach
Mmm, and San Francisco (Boise, Idaho)
Riots on the streets of Kansas City (Salt Lake, Hunnington Beach, CA)
Tuscaloosa, Alabama (Arcada, Clarkston, Michigan)
Cleveland, Ohio
Fountain Valley (Texas, Barstow)
Bear Mountain, Victorville
Eugene, Oregon, Eureka, California (Let it burn, let it burn)
Hesperia (Oh, ya let it burn, won't'cha won't'cha let it burn)
Santa Barbara, Cuyamca, Nevada, (Let it burn)
Phoenix, Arizona
San Diego, Lakeland Florida (Let it burn)
Fuckin, Dreadnaught punks! (Won't'cha let it burn)

(Any unit to assist Frank-74, Willow at Caspian... structure fire and numerous subjects looting)
(10-15 to get rid of this looter)

So on Friday, Boris Johnson said that the Coronavirus crisis would be over by Christmas. And ever since, I can't get this out of my head:

Because mutiny on the bounty's what we're all about
I'm gonna board your ship and turn it on out
No soft sucker with a parrot on his shoulder
'Cause I'm bad gettin' bolder, cold getting colder
Terrorizing suckers on the seven seas
And if you've got beef, you'll get capped in the knees
We got sixteen men on a dead man's chest
And I shot those suckers and I'll shoot the rest

Most illingest b-boy - I got that feeling
'Cause I am most ill and I'm rhymin' and stealin'

Snatching gold chains, vicking pieces of eight
I got your money and your honey and the fly name plate
We got wenches on the benches, and bitties with titties
Housing all girlies from city to city
One for all and all for one
Taking out M.C.'s with a big shotgun
All for one and one for all
Because the Beastie Boys have gone A.W.O.L.
Friggin' in the riggin' and cuttin' your throat
Big biting suckers getting thrown in the moat
We got maidens and wenches, man they're on the ace
Captain Bly is gonna die when we break his face

Most illingest b-boy - I got that feeling
'Cause I am most ill and I'm rhymin' and stealin'

Ali Baba and the forty thieves
Ali Baba and the forty thieves
Ali Baba and the forty thieves
Ali Baba and the forty thieves
Ali Baba and the forty thieves
Ali Baba and the forty thieves
Ali Baba and the forty thieves
Ali Baba and the forty thieves

Torching and crackin' and rhymin' and stealin'
Robbin' and raping, busting two in the ceiling
I'm wheeling', I'm dealin', I'm drinking, not thinking
Never cower, never shower, and I'm always stinking
Yo ho ho and a bottom glass boat
And when my girlie shakes her hips, she sure gets funky
Skirt chasing, free basing, killing every village
We drink and rob and rhyme and pillage

Most illingest b-boy - I got that feeling
'Cause I am most ill and I'm rhymin' and stealin'

I've been drinking my rum, a Def son of a gun
I fought the law and I cold won
Black Beard's weak - Moby Dick's on the tick
'Cause I pull out the jammy and squeeze off six
My pistol is loaded, I shot Betty Crocker
Deliver Colonel Sanders down to Davey Jones' locker
Rhymin' and stealin' in a drunken state
And I'll be rockin' my rhymes all the way to Hell's gate

Most illingest b-boy, I got that feeling
I am most ill and I'm rhymin' and stealin'
Most illingest b-boy, I got that feeling
I am most ill and I'm rhymin' and stealin'
Most illingest b-boy, I got that feeling
'Cause I am most ill and I'm rhymin' and stealin'
Most dillingest b-boy, I got that feeling
I am most ill and I'm rhymin' and stealin'
Most chillingest b-boy, I got that feeling
'Cause I am most ill and I'm rhymin' and stealin'...

Pete: You get the oddest damn songs stuck in your head... Of course I was watching some Jimmy Garvin matches earlier and now I have "Sharp Dressed Man" pounding away in my head when I'm trying to work on a Frank Belknap Long collection... If I make some weird choices I'll just blame it on Billy Gibbons.

Not the most random of songs but I've had this in my head the past week.  It started when I wanted some Black Sabbath while working out and these lyrics just stuck with me.  Looking at the comments it's crazy just how many people are interpreting this in ways that make sense for this year and I can't fault them for that.

Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of death's construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds
Oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor
Yeah!Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait 'til their judgement day comes
Yeah!

Now in darkness world stops turning
Ashes where the bodies burning
No more war pigs have the power
Hand of God has struck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees the war pig's crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan laughing spreads his wings
oh lord yeah!
