Dolfan in NYC Posted June 2 Posted June 2  I've been downhearted, baby, I've been down-I've been downhearted, baby... Ever since the day we met, ever since the day we met. Been a bit of a sad week for WWE fans. R Truth has been given his walking papers, same with Carlito. THAT'S NOT COOL!   Jan lays down and wrestles in her sleep, moonlight spills on comic books and superstars in magazines. An old friend calls and tells us where to meet... Her plane takes off from Baltimore and touches down on Bourbon Street. However, the show must go on and this week, we get two big PLEs. Worlds Collide and Money in the Bank! This sounds like a week CPA's will love!  We sit outside and argue all night long, aout a god we've never seen, but never fails to side with me. Sunday comes, and all the papers say, Ma Teresa's joined the mob, unhappy with her full-time job. BUT... there's still room for one more person in each Money in the Bank ladder match! AND maybe another match as well?  (With any luck EGA wins and Punk/Styles have a banger of a match at the PLE that Dave will begrudgingly give *** to!)  (Few lines hit harder than "...about a God we've never seen, but never fails to side with me.") Enjoy the week!  1
Cliff Hanger Posted June 2 Posted June 2 "Ma Theresa's joined the mob, and happy with her full time job/Doot-doot, doot-da-doot-da doot..." Â God damn did I love that song in high school. One of my very few singles. 1
Chaos Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Tonight could be the last time we get Punk and AJ together in a wrestling match. I hope not. I'd like to see them have a 20+ minute fun 1v1 together one last time.
odessasteps Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Couldn't help but think "the money they could have saved on that Pyro could have saved someone's contract."Â 2
Troubles Posted June 3 Posted June 3 It's wild to see the difference in philosophies with new talent between Hunter and Vince. Vince was all about the slow burn, acclimate the audience with any new faces before pulling any triggers (obviously there's exceptions) and with Hunter it seems like he believes in the burn the candle at both ends immediately with everyone until he's booked in 4 different random corners, surrounded in stupidity.

Phantom Lord Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I thought tonight was a good show. Granted the commercial breaks are driving me nuts especially when the match just starts going and they go to one. I was kinda surprised that Stephanie won the women's qualifying match. I figured Liv would win, but they definitely have that women's mitb match loaded up. I honestly can not pick a winner in that one. On the flip side I was shocked that CM Punk didn't win his match tonight. I figured Punk would be in the MITB to ensure Seth Rollins doesn't win. That's my worst case scenario with Rollins winning. I don't mind him chasing the title. I just don't want to see him win and cash in quickly and suddenly he's champion for the next year.

Enjoy the week!  I ADORE this song. I always loved the line "money to pay for all the days I lived awake but half asleep". Somehow I didn't really discover it until mid-2000-2005 when I saw it on a retro music video channel. Great choice! 1 1
Eivion Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Opening with Punk was fine as setup for the big tag with Sami/Jey taking on Bron/Bronson and the main event. Vaquer vs. Ivy vs. Liv was good fun. Its nice to see Stephanie getting the star treatment from the booking and the crowd. War Raiders vs. Finn/JD was solid. Was nice to see New Day getting hate again without trying. Hopefully that means their momentum is growing again after WWE wasted it. Dug the little backstage moment between Stephanie and Rhea before Lyra's promo. Once again Stephanie comes across as a star. Its good to see them not waiting too long on her. Lyra's confrontation with Becky tonight wasn't much new per say, but I did like Lyra winning the moment. Lyra isn't a favorite for me, but a feud like this is something she has needed for the past year. Kind of hoping she retains since I don't think Becky/Bayley necessarily needs a title. Jey/Sami vs. Bron/Bronson was solid. The DQ finish made sense here given Rollins wanting both Sami and Jey out of the way more than anything else. Still, it would be nice to see Reed given some people to murder. Kairi/Raquel was decent. Was nice to see Kairi pick up another win and Io make the save. Surprised Liv got cut though she at least didn't bleed too badly. AJ vs. Punk vs. EGA was good. Ending was as you expect with everyone from Rollins's group alo with Sami and Jey getting involved. Still, I did not expect Americano to pick up the win. Not my preference per say though it probably is best for guys like Styles and Punk to not be in ladder matches at this point of their careers. The Chad able accusations getting chanted at EGA was amusing to see. Â The wrestling was solid here though nothing was blow away good. The storytelling tonight was more the strong point with various continuing stories getting nice build along with some final bits of MITB getting set. Solid show 1
odessasteps Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I’ve not seen anyone mention any shoutout/tribute being down for Truth. I’m sure Woods would have wanted to do something, but it would likely affect their heel act.Â

Joe vs the Algorithm Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Was not expecting to drop in for a minute and see… Michael Cole’s tattoos.  Lol, I don’t think there are too many people on the planet who need to get tatt’ed up less than Michael Cole (not that anyone ever should get a tattoo). 1
Curt McGirt Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I actually turned the Netflix on last night and mostly just had it play in the background with the sound on while I did other shit. The only match I really watched was Bron/Bronson vs. An Uso (sorry, that is still funny to me)/Sami. Did Bronson really think he was gonna hit Sami from that range? We knew he wasn't gonna do it but even teasing that was stupid, especially from a man who just came back from breaking both ankles (I think that's what they said). I really enjoy Bron of course. Might tune in next week for the title match.
Casey Posted June 3 Posted June 3 2 hours ago, Chaos said: I'm aware, but I think Punk in an interview recently oddly mentioned wanting to get one with him while they could. I think what you're talking about was an IG Live where he said he wanted to wrestle him before AJ retires. Sometime last year, Styles said he expected a problem with Punk when he came back, but it "looks like he's happy to be here, he looks like a guy I want to step into the ring with and tear the house down". And then after last night, Punk said: "I've got a lot of my plate right now but I'll always make room for you. Let's not wait 21 years for the next time. You're a legend"  2
odessasteps Posted June 4 Posted June 4 First picture I saw on Twitter, I couldn’t tell if Mariah was wearing a slinky dress or underwear. God, imagine if a Vince and Kevin Dunn were still in charge.
Eivion Posted June 4 Posted June 4 (edited) Skipped around the opening. Seemed fine as a a setup. I do like the idea of Page with this Vanity Project. Chase U vs. DarkState was a slaughter of Uriah and Kale who were gungho to a fault. Myles/Charlie was solid though the finish fell a bit flat for me ending on a dropkick. Tyra/Arianna was a short but nice showcase for Tyra with Grace still managing to get in a nice bit of character. The Jacy celebration did it's job in laying out the higher players of the current women's division. Jaida and Lash stood out well among the rest until Mariah came along for that massive pop. Mariah is someone that feels a bit high for NXT due to where she was in AEW, but the division could probably use her for a bit after Vaquer, Giulia, & Roxanne moved up along with Jordynne likely not being far behind. It is interesting to see them point out Jacy being so beatable compared to the past few champs. I like her, but don't particularly want a long run from her. At the same time maybe there is a decent story in teasing it for a bit. J'Von/Laredo/Dragon/Legacy vs. Page & Vanity Project was a mostly solid showcase though that blonde in VP's group pissed me off with him being out of place for Laredo's big dive. Trick/Santana was good. Dug Trick's face run, but you can see how much he feels at home playing heel and getting the crowd to hate him. Trick and Santana had some pretty solid chemistry and damn is Santana over. The finish was KC Navarro and the former Top Dollar interfering worked well. I like the idea of Trick having a team backing him up in TNA. Must say though having only seen Santana these past few weeks in NXT damn does feel like the guy who needs to dethrone Trick whenever it happens down the line. If he is this supported by the NXT crowd I can only imagine how much the TNA crowd would explode when he wins. Â Solid show wrestling wise with Trick/Santana really standing out. Definitely want to see that run back in a bigger setting. Story wise the show was fine with it feeling more as setting up new things with Mariah and Tyra's debut and the Evolve involvement. Cliff Hanger Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I have two stupid questions: Â 1) who decided Baby Brad should do the talking for Vanity Project? Surely Drake, as the person in the 4-way with Legacy, should have gotten to speak for himself? I've seen him do it, he's no worse than Baylor is and doesn't look like he could be my grandson. 2) Are AJ Francis and KC Navarro really the right people to fuck Santana over? I dropped TNA+ after Mania weekend, but I can't imagine this put MORE heat on the heels who already often merged on go-away heat. Joining the "I wouldn't want to be" list this week: Brooks Jensen

hammerva Posted June 4 Posted June 4 While NXT needs more women stars after the exodus of Vacquer, Guilia, Roxanne, and Grace; Mariah May does not need NXT at all. At this point it seems like all former AEW stars that were never in WWE will have to go to NXT first. Surprising Penta avoided it
Dolfan in NYC Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 Everything I've ever read is that they get a few months in NXT to get used to camera positions, ring size, and learn WWE production cues. She's almost assuredly not there for character development and reps. She's Ricky Starks/Saints, not a gymnastics senior from UCF
