Elsalvajeloco Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Didn't Shayna just sign a new deal not too long ago? That's diabolical. 2
Casey Posted May 2 Posted May 2 “Cost cutting” and “we just made $40m in ticket sales two weeks ago” is insanity. Capitalism was a mistake. 7 1
Cobra Commander Posted May 2 Posted May 2 probably not fun to be the wrestler equivalent of Jesse Chavez on the Atlanta Braves 1
hammerva Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Add Gigi Dolin is on the list. DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE TATUM PAXLEY
Cobra Commander Posted May 2 Posted May 2 does TNA have enough money laying around to sign some more WWE releases and then lend them back to the WWE? 3

Pretty sure Shotzi and Austin Theory aren't being renewed based off social media posts. Edited May 2 by GodzillaPerez
Cobra Commander Posted May 2 Posted May 2 reading the Shayna Wikipedia entry, before going to the Kyle O'Reilly entry where someone on Wikipedia is insisting that KOR being billed at 6'0" is "dubious" just imagining them finding photos of KOR next to other people who are around 6'0" to tell people how O'Reilly is shorter than those guys
hammerva Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Well we know why they got rid of MetaFour because Jakara Jackson has been released. 1

Cobra Commander Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I'm closer to 6'0" than 5'11" and I'm thinking I could bill myself at 6'3" in wrestling 2
Doragon Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I think this below is the full list, there might be more maybe i dunno https://www.fightful.com/wrestling/wwe-releases-braun-strowman-dakota-kai-shayna-baszler-cora-jade-more
hammerva Posted May 3 Posted May 3 One thing from last couple months, if you are part of LGBTQ community then don't pick up the phone in the WWE any time soon. 1 1

TheVileOne Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Braun Strowman being cut right now makes no sense. He was still being used as a top star on SmackDown and was regularly on TV up until WrestleMania and feuding with Bloodline. He also made Jacob Fatu and Bronson Reed look amazing. I imagine Austin Theory and Shotzi are next, hence their comments on social media.

He's not of much use as The Monster Among Men anymore. And to be honest, even though this last run was the most I've ever liked him since he wasn't tossing over semis anymore and was more realistic, he stinks. Edited May 3 by Johnny Sorrow 1
Eivion Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) Gigi, Jakara, Cora, and Thorpe are surprises. The NXT women being released when the main roster is in need of fresh faces and has two new titles is just moronic. Felt like Thorpe was doing well with the heel change. Surprised Riley made it this long with Blair gone. Been expecting Gallus to be released for a while as they never felt like a group that would hit the main roster. NXT Europe never happening just made it feel like they were on borrowed time. Edited May 3 by Eivion

I mean, what else was there for Big Show to do after getting destroyed by Triple H, Rock, Brock Lesnar, Kane, and Undertaker? They kept him around for the better part of 20 years. There is always value to a guy like Strowman. Meanwhile, Omos, a guy they've kept signed and haven't booked on TV for a year is still there. Edited May 3 by TheVileOne 1
SovietShooter Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Its like the discussion the other day about why would AEW let Mariah May walk away... sometimes it is just time to move on. If WWE was never going to push Braun as a top guy, and he had enough losses to diminish the return on his future enhancement work, why keep him around? If they come up with something for him in six months, they can go re-sign him, and probably for less money.

username Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Austin Theory should probably hope for the release TBH. Vince McMahon becoming obsessed with him for a bit probably poisoned the well for him and probably no one else in WWE fits the Drew McIntyre "you're young, get released and rebuild yourself and still have time to make it back" mold more than him. I'm not saying he's a can't miss prospect or anything, but as-is he's stuck at the bottom of the card and he's got enough pieces that a reload is probably his best shot. 1
DreamBroken Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I don't know why they wouldn't just move half these names to TNA, as several of them already worked recent TNA shows. Real shitty way to break up Meta Four on screen by saying they're all going their separate ways, just to immediately cut two of them. Sad for Jakara as I thought she had a lot of potential and her & Lash looked great in their Impact outings. Thought Gigi was doing well in her team with Tatum, shame to break them up already. Also sad to see Kayden & Katana gone, Katana especially I always thought had star potential ever since she signed. From we don't bench people to cutting anyone near the bench I guess. 2
