Looking forward to John Cena vs. Randy Orton for the role reversal with Cena the heel and Orton the babyface. It's also in Randy's hometown.

Can't wait for Gunther to chop the shit outta Pat McAfee. Least he won't be on commentary duties.

Think Lyra Valkyria retains thanks to Bayley returning to get vengeance on Becky Lynch who in storyline injured Bayley stopping her competing at WrestleMania XLI.

Looks like Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Oh man, forgot about THE GREATEST MATCH OF ALL TIME in 2020.

For real though, Backlash 2000 is waaay up there in terms of secondary PPVs and it's as if the ends of the shows between it and Mania 2000 were switched somehow. That pop for Austin is severely underrated in WWE's flashback clips.

Just like that Light Heavyweight Championship match, amirite?

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
'Til eternity passes away
Just to watch Cena wrestle Orton again

might need some more work shopping

Good call on these two. Dean/Scotty is a hidden gem for sure. And Orton/Foley is one of the last storylines I was invested in before dropping wrestling entirely through most of college.  My family was out of town for some family reason and I was desperately trying to convince my aunt to order the ppv. It didn't work but my buddy Brian taped it and had it in my mailbox when we got home. I didn't even unpack before throwing it in.

This card has both Logan Paul and Pat McAfee in feature bouts.  Fucking hell...

I am not really worried about the Logan Paul match.   Only a moron would take the title off of Jey on his first PPV defense.   The match itself could be ugly but I don't think a competitive match is a sign of anything

The McAfee match is a much bigger sign on the direction of this company.   No way Pat should get any offense in this match except maybe one kick and a 2 count to make him feel good about himself.  Other than that if Gunther is having a competitive match with a mid carder guy who last wrestled last year then we are in for some questionable times.

You can make an argument that Becky beating Lyra for the IC title is a bad sign as well but I am not sure anyone cares enough.

I guess they didn't put the Logan Paul match on here officially after it was rumored and they had that segment.  So maybe it doesn't happen.

WWE.com is currently showing 4 matches for the card:

Cena/Orton

McAfee/Guether

Dom/Penta for the IC Title

Fatu/Drew/Knight/Priest for the US Title

Looks like they're going to push Becky/Lyra and Jey/Paul out a little further. They do like 5 match PLE cards so we're getting one more, maybe something with the Profits? Or does a Raw feud leak over to SD for a match Saturday?

It amazes me Walter with the green hair became the GUNTHER we all love today. I like McAfee, but he's going to get murdered by a chop.

Thank you. Backlash 2000 is one of the best PPVs ever. Backlash 2000 like Backlash 1999 was better than WrestleMania 2000/WrestleMania XV. Backlash 2000 is infamous in the UK as it aired on tape delay in the UK, ad breaks and digitised covered up X-Pac bleeding.

Thank you. Indeed Dean Malenko vs. Scotty 2 Hotty is a hidden gem. Mick Foley vs. Randy Orton is by far Orton's greatest match and it's one of Foley's best as well.

My top ten Mick Foley matches:

10. Mick Foley vs. Edge. WWE WrestleMania 22.

9. Cactus Jack/Raven vs. Terry Funk/Tommy Dreamer. ECW November 2 Remember, 18th November 1995.

8. Mick Foley/Edge/Lita vs. Terry Funk/Tommy Dreamer/Beulah McGillicutty. ECW One Night Stand 2006.

7. Cactus Jack/Maxx Payne vs. The Nasty Boys. WCW Spring Stampede 1994.

6. Mankind vs. The Undertaker. WWF King of the Ring 1998.

5. Cactus Jack vs. Sting. WCW Power Hour. 22nd November 1991.

4. Mick Foley vs. Randy Orton. WWE Backlash 2004. *****.

3. Dude Love vs. Steve Austin. WWF In Your House: Over the Edge 1998. *****.

2. Cactus Jack vs. Triple H. WWF Royal Rumble 2000. *****.

1. Mankind vs. Shawn Michaels. WWF In Your House 10: Mind Games 1996. *****.

He's reminding me of an indie deathmatch dude that I can't place, like somebody who worked CZW in the early days. Maybe, like, Necro Butcher when he had facepaint?

Nah. Nick I think of as just one of the skinniest wrestlers of all time. Maybe I'm just thinking he looks like somebody who belongs on that circuit, not necessarily someone who was.
