He's really well-respected in hockey circles but Red Wings fans will tell you that didn't translate to looking well-coached.

Gotta blame the GM. Can't blame the superstar with 4 goals in his last 18 playoff games, including just 1 during the 7-game series you just lost. Or the other superstar with just 3 goals in his last 20 playoff games, also including just 1 in your 7-game series loss.

It appears that TJ Oshie will officially announce his retirement this upcoming Monday as the team announced he would be making “a special announcement” at an event

Montreal's Lane Hutson won the Calder.

He's the first Hab to win it since Ken Dryden in 1972

Always surprising in hindsight Roy did not win it the year they won the Cup and he won the Conn Smythe.

So.... the Rangers are trading Chris Kreider to the Ducks (deal is basically pending Kreider his no trade)

Look - Kreider obviously isn't the player he once was but boy, I really don't see how that is gonna go over well with the fanbase

He had a Cy Young year this season - 22-8. That's... not great. He's washed.

Forsyth County, Georgia has approved documentation that will allow an investment group to propose a(nother) expansion team in Atlanta.

Third time's the charm?

Trade is official

Quote

Chris Kreider is joining the Anaheim Ducks after the winger waived his no-trade clause to allow the New York Rangers to deal him away.

The Rangers will receive prospect Carey Terrance in the trade, which both teams announced Thursday. The Rangers are also getting a third-round pick in this year's draft that originally belonged to the Toronto Maple Leafs, while the Ducks are getting back the fourth-round pick that went to New York in the Jacob Trouba trade in December.

To make the deal happen, Kreider had to waive his 15-team no-trade list, which he had recently added Anaheim to.

The Ducks are taking on the full freight of Kreider's remaining contract (2 years, $6.5 million each season)

Pittsburgh will not offer Evgeni Malkin an extension.  His contract expires at the end of next season.

See... I understand this and all, but why on earth would you announce it?  When someone comes looking at the trade deadline, now you'll be lucky to get a slightly used Chik-Fil-A gift card for him.

It's small but I actually think its an improvement. The black border around the spokes and B make it look too cluttered. The Bruins looked in the mirror and removed one accessory

The Rangers have decided to send the Penguins the 12th pick in Friday's draft to complete JT Miller deal

Basically - the pick was conditional with since it fell in the Top 13, so the Rangers could have sent their 2026 first rounder to Pittsburgh instead but decided to go with this year (which doesn't make me feel great about the upcoming season)

Pittsburgh acquired the pick from Vancouver

The Ducks have sent Trevor Zegras to Philly.

They get Ryan Poeling, a 2, and a 4 (next year).

Looking forward to Torts slitting his throat in the middle of a game in January.

For those who'd like to see the most Canadian reaction to anything ever, check out Joe Thornton finding out he's going in the Hall of Fame.

According to Awful Announcing and the Daily Faceoff(?),  there are plans for the NHL to expand to a 84 game season starting in two years.   Yeah that seems pretty stupid .   Not really working out great for the NBA
