So were Tiffany and Charlotte (Though they seemed to be ordering way... Cliff Hanger Posted April 8 Posted April 8 It always weirds me out when they use their non-kayfabe names, but in this context it worked. I was in and out of the show, didn't give some parts the attention they deserve. The blushes Liv was carrying being dinosaur chicken nuggets rather than actual dinosaurs cracked me up. So the four way is to let Dom get pinned (by Bron or Penta legit, or Finn fucking him over) or else have Dom pin Finn, right? Rey vs Gable is going to be the thing that people talk about 20 years from now but gets overshadowed on the night of, isn't it? Big night for gaffes between Pearce announcing Rhea as representing TJD and later the douche talking about Rey Fenix Jr.

Eivion Posted April 8 Posted April 8 The opening segment to officialize the triple threat was exactly what it needed to be with Io standing tall. Bayley/Lyra was good. Was nice to see the crowd into both women by the end. LWO vs. Creeds/Grande was good fun. Kind of dug the finish with the loaded mask. Its nice to see Rey and Gable getting a Wrestlemania match though it makes me wish they started the Grande gimmick even earlier ot build to this one. Won't happen, but I would love to see them to take the feud to Mexico in a mask vs. mask match. That Gunther/Jey segment was good. That was easily one of Jey's best promos. Kind of love how even Gunther was just a pinch shook by the ending realizing he may have fucked up going so far with the attack on Jimmy. War Raiders vs. New Day was nice while it lasted even with the bs ending. Still, it feels like they screwed up not havign New Day waiting too long as New Day has definitely lost a lot of the momentum they built from the Big E turn. Penta/Dom as solid with a nice post match momentum of badassery from Bron. Final segment with Heyman & Rollins was long but solid.] Too few matches but solid wrestling and solid build for Wrestlemania. 1

hammerva Posted April 8 Posted April 8 I admit that my dealing with Bert is light but he seems rather harmless. I can't imagine spending more than 5 minutes dealing with him but harmless. Tony is another story. I didn't watch RAW but I can't imagine McAfee and Tony in the same place at once for a long period of time. Given when they are scheduling that Wrestlemania Roast next weekend, if we are talking about what he or others said then either Cena vs Cody was a complete mess or some really fucked up shit was said. Which isn't good either way

Cole is a dork and bagging on him was low hanging fruit, but that whole segment was just annoying. Even though they're doing better at structuring the women's three way, it's still a lame idea especially with the other multi-person matches on WM. I thought Uso's promo was just corny and trying too hard to sound serious.
Jrag Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Rollins is basically current Chris Jericho with 5X athleticism. You can’t get out of a feud with him and he drags down just about every segment he is in. Crazy how much better this WM build would be if we were in the middle of a Punk/Reigns only feud. 4

I literally just said "fuck" when they announced the 4-way for the women's title. They're going to put a women's battle royale on SAD to go with the 4-way and the 6-way, aren't they? I don't care about Darkstate. Ricky/Ethan should be great but I am having a hard time seeing this show living up to 23-4 1

The math is a bit tricky, but I think it'll be a big tag with MetaGirls, Roxy and (Wren or a loser of next week's qualifier) against Fatal Influence and (a loser of next week's qualifier). So in summary, I liked the show, but wondering why we're getting a 4 way and what happened with Gulia that they needed to get the belt off of her for a few weeks but then I remember what happened to Roxanne for her first reign and how that was weird any maybe it's a really bad HBK booking crutch? Can't remember if Trick mixed it up with Darkstate or not and they need to refine that powerbomb finisher before someone gets hurt.

My dumbass headcanon is that he has one and the "NF" logo is red-on-black and printed backwards, but he couldn't wear it because Wade actually compared him to the Flash on SD and made it a Problem.
Eivion Posted April 9 Posted April 9 (edited) Aside from that suicide dive fail Jordynne/Jaida was going quite well up until the non-finish. Giulia coming out for the save and then subsequent attack on Vaquer was unexpected. While I'm happy that whatever was wrong with Giulia was seemingly a false alarm this honestly annoyed me. This in no way, shape, or form needed to be a multi-woman match. They need to realize and accept again that not every star can make it to the big show. Jaida does not need to be in this match, and Giulia's return could have waited until after Stand & Deliver. Fraxiom vs. Swipe Right was damn good while it lasted and great showcase for Swipe Right. Sol/Nyx was solid. It was good to see Nyx get this match both for a little character movement and general way to show off. Feels like she hasn't really had many opportunities this year. Hank & Tank vs. Jensen/Niko ws fine while it lasted. The setup for for a NA contender's match for the NA title was unexpected and feels a bit unnecessary with the build already there for Page/Saints. This could have waited until after Stand & Deliver though the segment itself was decent. I did like it leading into Wes/Inamura which was another nice showcase for Inamura. Curious to see if there is an actual endgame plan for his excursion. Would love to see him get a shot at the NA Title and/or Heritage Cup at some point. Wren/Izzi was going fine until that completely botched finish. I'm glad Izzi got the shot, but she got way too damn excited and fucked up bad. That was just embarrassing. It as weird seeing Wren make it into this match given the lack of tv time and wrestling she has had the past few months. Still as over as she is they really need to start pushing her more after S&D. I assume the tag being set up for the final two ladder match spots leads to Roxanne teaming up with Cora again, but I would love to see someone a bit more outside the box like Wren or Thea. Oba/Trick/Je'Von vs. Darkstate (Shugars/Cutler/Lennox) was pretty solid. Dug that Shugars and Cutler got in most of the time for the team since they were the more unknown factors. Thought both mostly looked good despite some off moments. There is definitely a bit of wildness to the group that is neat though that also sometimes slips into the more sloppy/off side execution wise. Hopefully they can get things more together with a little more time and practice. Otherwise I can easily see them hurting someone or themselves. Despite some definitely off bad moments I think this was mostly a solid night wrestling wise. If it had a proper finish then Jaide/Jordynne would have probably been MOTN for me. At this point I have to give to Fraxiom/Swipe Right or the Darkstate debut. Its good to see the build for the Stand & deliver trucking along though it feels weird to have only two matches fully set this close to the show. I get why with the WNA ladder match, but again that goes into the strangeness of how we are getting something like no. 1 contender's match for the men's belt when we already know the match. Just feels a bit pointless. Even the tag no. 1 contender's match feels like something that should have been set up to happen this episode instead of next week. Despite my complaints I did enjoy the show and thought it was a solid effort though I have seen stronger from NXT, be it wrestling or story focused. Edited April 9 by Eivion 4
