With the 2024 regular season over with, there are 18 teams already looking ahead to the 2025 NFL Draft. As in past years, here is the thread for this year's NFL Draft.

When two or more teams have the same record, the tiebreaker is a team's Strength of Schedule, with the lower SoS receiving the higher pick.

This is the first year in quite a while. . .I don't know the exact year. . .where all 32 teams currently have their first round pick before the draft. No teams have traded away their 2025 first rounder, and no teams have multiple first rounders as things stand right now.

With that, here is the order that I will update as more spots get filled.

  1. Tennessee Titans (3-14, .522) - Cam Ward, QB, Miami (FL)
  2. Jacksonville Jaguars from Cleveland Browns (3-14, .536) - Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
  3. New York Giants (3-14, .554) - Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State

  10. Chicago Bears (5-12, .554) - Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
  11. San Francisco 49ers (6-11, .564) - Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
  12. Dallas Cowboys (7-10, .522) - Tyler Booker, iOL, Alabama
  13. Miami Dolphins (8-9, .419) - Kenneth Grant, DL, Michigan

Barring a comeback of biblical proportions from Kansas City, the draft order for Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft is officially set.

Per multiple reports - the Titans are expected to trade out of #1

I now am really terrified of the Giants doing something exceptionally stupid

What can they possibly do other than give up Nabers that would qualify as stupid? And yeah if they do that I’m looking for a new team.

"Multiple 1's across years to move up 2 spots to get a guy they'd probably get at #3 anyway" leaps to mind.

This

It is the issue of basically having a lame duck coach/GM. They can easily fuck up multiple future drafts chasing someone they think will "save" their job (especially when you look at the status of the NFC East)

There are multiple ways to handle this draft where there is no consensus #1 (QB or not)

Overpaying to move up to #1 is the worst way to handle it

Per the NFL official combine invites - Travis Hunter will be listed as a CB in the combine

Abdul Carter has a stress fracture in his right foot

He could have pre-emptive surgery which will put him out 8 weeks or he can choose to wait, do his pro day and "prove he doesn't need it"

He's going to end up on the Eagles, isn't he?

So is it a safe assumption that the only quarterbacks that benefited from the combine were the ones that didn't compete in it.    There were a few that looked okay but at least based on highlights and online guys like Dillon Gabriel and Will Howard really fucked themselves

We'll just see about that.  The Titans are apparently talking to BOTH New York teams about #1 overall.

Currently the Jets are supposedly offering the better package, this AND next year's 1, AND three 2's.

If they move up, the Jets are expected to take Cam Ward.

It always amazes me how teams use these reports to fuck with other teams

It would be funnier if this year my team wasn't one of the teams that will totally fucking fall for it

Jaxon Dart has changed his mind and will no longer attend the NFL Draft

Read into that whatever you will

Is McAfee attending, and Dart is doing the smart thing by avoiding the urge to break his throwing hand on Pat's face? Fully understand if so.

I don't know what is happening behind the scenes and what (I'm sure) Deion is saying to these teams, but I've now seen multiple drafts where Sherdur Sanders drops out of the 1st round.

While possible that's part of it, the bigger concern is likely that Sanders isn't a great athlete, doesn't have a great arm, has a history of throwing his Offensive Line under the bus in interviews, and there are heavy reports many teams thought he interviewed like crap at hte combine.

Still possible he ends up going high if one team falls in love, of course. But a lot of the public opinion is low on him.

Per Schefter (and I am sure there is more) - supposedly there are only three teams linked to drafting Sanders in the first round

Giants at #3

Saints at #9

Steelers at #21

From behind the paywall

Quote

What makes the Sanders situation so unique
Here's a point that some personnel people in the league made about Shedeur Sanders: He is the rare player whose NFL experience will be a reversal of his college experience. He has played for his father Deion Sanders throughout college; he didn't have the chance to be on his own.

Now, at the NFL level, he will be without his father's presence in football for the first time, and he will have to adapt to his new life the way some players do when they go from high school to college. This, in the eyes of some, will be an opportunity for Sanders to grow, continue to learn and take his game to an even higher level.

And then there's this: Short of Pittsburgh's Mike Tomlin, any other coach who drafts Sanders better be comfortable with his standing within the organization. Because if that team struggles and the fan base is calling for a coaching change, speculation will start to swirl about Sanders' father taking over.

Though Deion recently finalized a five-year, $54M contract extension, his buyout is not overly restrictive. It starts at $12 million if he leaves before Dec. 31, 2025, then drops to $10 million if he leaves in 2026, $6 million in 2027, $4 million in 2028 and $3 million in 2029.

Tangential - the expectation from many is that the top of Round 2 is gonna be wild with teams trying to get the "2nd Tier QBs"

It's gonna be hilarious to watch Pittsburgh trade way the fuck up to 2 or 3 when they can clearly get Sanders at 21.

I doubt the Steelers move up that high, but if they do its for either Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter. If they do move up it'll be a few spots for the Bama QB or Jaxson. My biggest nightmare as a Steeler fan besides signing Rodgers, is waiting until next year to draft a QB and that QB being Drew Allar from Penn State.

So, best case scenario is sign Rodgers and draft Sanders.

All problems solved.

And you're welcome.

Yes. Please give me a quarterback room with Rodgers, Shedeur, and Deion hanging around.

Seriously, though, if anybody can quiet the nonsense that the Sanders family brings, it's Tomlin.
