Kevin Wilson Posted January 6 Posted January 6 15 minutes ago, dogwelder said: Jaguars fired HC Doug Pederson He was the most obvious one, right? I mean there are always a surprise or two (one way or the other) but Pederson seemed like a dead man walking most of the season. Three seasons is enough of a sample size, I mostly just feel bad for coaches fired after a year or two that had terrible teams no one could win with but the Jags seemed to be on the cusp at times of breaking through.
RIPPA Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 Eh - there were reports that Pederson might keep his job because the Khans are really loyal I think the one everyone expected was Daboll and somehow he kept his fucking job
NoFistsJustFlips Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I feel like I'm the only Giants fan that wanted Daboll back. The Giants need stability. All of these 2 and done 3 and done coaches aren't working. Coughin had how many rough seasons before it started clicking? Daboll did take them to the playoffs and won a game. Give him a season or two with some QB stability before we're tossing out a coach of the year. Just how I feel about it all.

He took over play calling duties and the offense noticeably got worse And per all the local reporters - Daboll and Schoen have been told they have to make the playoffs to keep their jobs which means they are just getting fired next season so that is ANOTHER lost season Which also means the next GM/HC are already set up for failure since they will have to fix all the drunken sailor moves that are gonna happen next year due to both trying to keep their jobs

RIPPA Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 The tin foil hat types definitely think they are gonna tank again to get Arch Manning

I still have that mental image of the hard ass walking into the building in a swank suit smoking a cigar at his first press conference. Then they went out and made the playoffs and won a game. Not like this is Joe Judge or anything. Frustrating tho because they've been bad for so many seasons now. I don't even need a Super Bowl. Just become a consistant contender and I'll be happy.
Gonzo Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) The Jets have requested permission from the Vikings to interview Brian Flores for their head coaching job. Not sure how that's going to go seeing that he's still actively suing the NFL and stuff. Also he can't interview this week because the Vikings have a game. The Jets have also asked for permission to interview Vikings QB coach Josh McCown. Edited January 6 by Gonzo
Gonzo Posted January 6 Posted January 6 During the Lions' bye week, Ben Johnson will be doing virtual interviews with both the Bears and the Patriots, per reports.
RIPPA Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 Oh and there is this And that isn’t factoring in that the Giants play the NFC West last place team who was the fucking Niners but sure give the GM and HC a playoff mandate 2

Yeah, I guess someone finally trapped Woody in a closet and are interviewing actual candidates and not Friends of the Pod. To wit... they've also asked Pittsburgh if they can interview OC Arthur Smith. 1

Gonzo Posted January 6 Posted January 6 The Bears have also now threatened. . .er, requested. . .to interview Brian Flores and Arthur Smith.
RIPPA Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 The Bears want to interview Giants OC Mike Kafka Brian Daboll might drive him there personally 1
Kevin Wilson Posted January 7 Posted January 7 If I can't enjoy Rodgers being bad with the Jets next year, I'll accept as a replacement Rex Ryan being their coach. 1 2
