Adam Cole should be put in a tag team and told to do his best Ricky Morton.

They had a main event level tag team with Cole & MJF. They then went and fucked it up.

Super cool to see Zoey Skye on my TV this weekend even though she got about 70 seconds of ring time combined between the two nights. lol

Make that about 130 seconds in three nights. lol

^ Thought of that as well, 3rd straight loss in under a minute!

Deonna and Taya are now going by "The Vendetta", loving them together so far.

I liked how the rest of Rampage was Top Flight Night with each match flowing into the next. Leila up first with Top Flight coming out as she's leaving, then Lio coming out as they're leaving. Nice submissions from Aminata in her victory.

Really glad the AEW World Tag Team Championship are off the Young Bucks and now on Private Party. The reign sucked. Hopefully the tag team division can be brought back to what it once was.

All they have to do is build the division around more than just one or two teams. I gave up a long time ago on both AEW and WWE doing it. Even a Vinceless WWE. When AEW started, I thought it would be more of a tag team division friendly promotion but it’s no different than WWE.

The Trios belts hurt this I think.   As did the pandemic talent influx.  2019 AEW Tag division was really good.  It feels like what would have been tag depth now revolves around Trios belt.

Snagged tickets for my daughter and I to go to Collision in Philly Saturday night off of gametime.  70 bucks for 2 incluing the fees, i couldn't pass that up, especially when she gets to see a womans title match.

Thank you.  Her first and only wrestling show was Sting's retirement match, so i will have tolet her know to temper expectations because you can't compare any show to an atmosphere like that.  It absolutely helps we get a woman's title match and I just saw that Thunder Rosa is wrestling, which will blow her mind because TR is one of her favorites.

My wife and I might go too, or just me if she’s not feeling up to it. I’ve never been to a Collision and the idea of seeing ROH matches is appealing, as are the three announced Collision matches (and probably Outrunners).

Enjoy!

That’s not too different than what I said about the match itself. On their overall case, there are both pros and cons to their influence case in the way that they used irony and postmodernism in order to get over when they couldn’t get over any other way.

It certainly opened certain doors for certain wrestlers to succeed in certain ways that would’ve been impossible 10 years earlier. Personally, I think the cost is way too high. They busted down doors and glass ceilings that just happened to be load-bearing.

Getting irony and postmodernism over created an environment where Orange Cassidy can exist, slowly be revealed as a superworker, and have years-long character development.

Can't really fault him for looking out of shape right now. That injury was pretty nuts.

I agree to an extent but he’s had 15 months and his upper body is about as soft as mine

Leila Grey and Queen Aminata did a good job of covering over for their little follicular malfunction. Early on, Leila tried to get up, while Aminata was still lying on her hair, and it caused her wig to fall off. So AEW cut around it, and Leila went from having long straight hair to having curly hair in a bun (that came loose).

I haven't watched Dragon Gate in over 15 years but it would be almost impossible for them to have a weak tag team division or Trios because of company being built around units. For the past 4 years both major American promotions been mostly built around factions.

To me if I was Triple H one of the first things I would want to do to set myself apart from Vince would be to feature real tag teams more.  Same with AEW.  Ring of Honor was able to have a decent 6-man division and tag team before the buyout

COLLISION

Spoiler

- The Dia de los Muertos match was terrible. The work was bad and the gimmicks were papier-mache and styrofoam. They're lucky the table didn't break when Rosa ran up it for the finish. Pee-yoo.

- Fletcher now looks like the ultimate jock prick with the bald head, and AxB in the Discord brought up that he is basically looking and working like Randy Orton now, which I think is pretty cool considering nobody else in the promotion does that. He also brought up that the match developed into Komander finally becoming competitive, and he really did bring all his coolest stuff. The attempt at the poison rana, Fletcher carrying him to the apron then to the floor, and him busting out there was really cool. Komander should have won due to seniority alone (or in tribute to Rey/Psicosis in the ECW Arena) but they're trying to heat up Fletcher, so no. Fletcher's brainbuster in the middle of the ring is good enough to keep as a finisher instead of the buckle one. Just call it "World's Best Brainbuster" or something, it's been done.

- Andretti's work is so choreographed and pre-arranged. PAC is a psycho though, just look at his eyes when he has him in the Brutalizer. They need to be doing something crazier with the BCC stuff, "crippling" people isn't enough, this is the promotion where people are threatened with being set on fire. Start bringing out lighttube cabins and throw Dark Order guys through them or something. It needs to take flight a little higher than where it's at now.

- I kinda feel bad about Lio Rush; he just has this TNA stink on him that I can't stop from smelling, like he's a guy that everybody pushes and I just can't see it and he feels minor league to me for no reason. Guys like the Rascalz and Taven + Bennett, they have that on them for me and it doesn't seem to wash off no matter where they go. I'm sure he's a nice guy, and a decent worker, but I just want to skip his matches every time. MEANWHILE, MxM and Johnny Flatscreen have the funniest fucking TNA/WWE backstage comedy segment ever where I just died, I was laughing so hard no sound was coming out. It was so broad and so goofy and shouldn't have been funny at all but it so so was. MxM dropping out of frame was the cherry on top.

- Man! Roddy/Shane Taylor was great until the botched finish. I don't think I've ever seen a match where Roddy worked from underneath, it's always been an even-steven 50/50 match or him being a superior opponent, when he looks like a small vanilla guy who can throw a stiff chop and that's it. Here he worked from under against a monster and it really worked. There was an elbow where Shane clearly did not slap the leg and it sounded like a hit to back centerfield. He also yelled "YOU WANNA CHOP RODDY?!" which was beautiful. Nigel calling the Tower of London was wonderfully obnoxious too.

*sigh* And then. I went back and watched it immediately, and this is what I discerned. Roddy hit the knee. Shane was supposed to kick out, and he didn't. I think this because the ref paused on the three, but Shane's shoulder was still down, so he hit the three real quick and called for the bell. It looked like a fuckup on Shane's part really, because the ref was stopping at the right time, and you could see the confusion flash on his face before slapping the hand the final time. It didn't seem to be a "he tried to fuck on me" situation, just, you know, shit happens. Still was a good match.

- The crowd was really good tonight but they loved that and especially the closer. Anna worked really hard and I would have been fine with her winning the strap, she might have some rust still, but the crowd was so hot for her it would have blew them up so hard if she got the sub there.

Fine show... a lot of ads for a certain vile fuckhead though.

Collision felt like a response to all the talk about the tag division lately by making sure it was the focus, having every tag team out there for Private Party's opening with various tag angles throughout the show, I loved it. Private Party and FTR almost getting into it, Dissension within the Acclaimed, Undisputed Kingdom interrupted by Cage & Archer, Johnny Television joining MxM, etc.  I popped for Cage giving a "Tell em (murder)Hawk!".  And now we've got the tag team contenders series with tag matches over the next few weeks setting up a 4 way title match at Full Gear.

I love over the top Harley Cameron and Thunder Rosa, so thought the Dia de los Muertos was just a fun ten minutes.  Komander/Fletcher ruled as expected.  I feel like the almost botched 3 count has happened a time or two before in Strong matches, like sometimes the refs just aren't quite sure if the jumping knee is the finish or not.  Enjoyed Orange's promo segment with BCC.

Really liked the main event and thought Anna looked great. They only got around 10 minutes and figured Anna never had a real chance coming off already pinning Mariah, but there was some good tension in the Queenslayer and near falls.

Felt like a stacked show getting in 7 matches and some good segments. Dynamite is looking similarly good coming up next.

That was great. It looks like Cage has cycled down and going black trunks and normal hair is way less gaudy for a change. This also had the 'holy shit' assisted chokeslam on one of the jobbers that was just ridiculous. I thought "well they are in the ECW Arena, might as well do one for Big Al".

Between that insane Hologram match a few weeks ago, his Lio Rush match last night and tonight against Australian Seth Rollins, Komander is the best TV wrestler alive right now.

Ill have some more thoughts in a bit, but my daughter had an absolute blast.  She was tuckered out so we didn't make it to see the ROH tapings afterwards, but it was well worth the price of admission.

One thing I'm curious about is if they showed Eddie Kingston on TV at all?  He was sitting in the crowd normally right above the entryway Mox came out of.  It was so nonchalant that I'm honestly sitting here questioning if it was him or not, but other people had the same idea as me because a lot were snapping random cell pictures.  He was super engaged with the show going on and it was sort of awesome seeing just how much of a fan he is.  If it wasn't Kingston, someone created a clone of him lol.

I laughed, I groaned, I ffwd, I engaged - it was a B show in Philly. First, this was a good audience ready to enjoy the actual Wrestling. I liked the sentiment of the Private Party/Tag Teams segment, but it felt a bit too goofy. Quen/Zay spoke in cliches, but were somewhat fine. I liked the Outrunners getting some mic time, but the 'let's be friendly' thing compounded the goofiness. Speaking of which, Thunder v Harley in a sloppy Plunder match (the worst!) and an Acclaimed promo made for a quick skip of the second quarter. The excellent Fletcher v Komander match followed and completely brought me back into this show. Fletcher is learning how to put it all together and Komander is killing it every time out. Mark Davis suddenly feels incredibly underrated. The Jack Perry/Daniel Garcia segment needed to be a little tighter. Some of the dialogue was a bit weak, but it was a good go. Perry's Raven cosplay was heavier than ever there. Garcia looked a bit silly being talked down to by Jack in the way he was. It did enough to further the story tho. I ffwd the Cage/Archer squash. I guess combining microwavable Cage and Archer 'In Actions' into one segment is good. I'll get interested in this team when they score an actual competitive win (if it ever happens). Kingdom v Cage/Archer, okay, sure! Wait, what, an AR Fox promo!?! Where's MVP, Foxy needs his card. Nick Wayne showed some nice confidence there. Good simple set-up. The staging of these backstage spots is a production improvement that badly needs to happen. Any High School photographer could be consulted quite cheaply for this. The Stat promo further showcased how much better she is with a mouthpiece. Stat's the first person I think I'd actually like to see disappear for awhile. I love her, but she's been drained by this illogical creative. The Mox/Yuta/Shafir promo was good. Top guys furthering feuds in mic segments on Collison should be a consistent thing. Andretti interrupting felt a bit like top guys slumming, but Action was firey and did okay. Good 'Throw hands' line. I did not at all like the illogic of Pac jumping Andretti, and directly going into the Pac v Andretti match. Why does security break up every other brawl? The in ring was fine here, but would have benefitted greatly from a step in between the attack and start of the match. I suppose I should be happy we weren't subjected to the hammy Interim EVP. The Schiavone 'I've just gotten word from Tony Khan' mic thing would have been fine. Also, where was Lio/Top Flight while Andretti is getting smashed after the match? I know they're suggesting dissension, but they haven't split. The Orange Cassidy promo that followed was good enough. I liked the stuff with Wheeler. Mox caught on camera, and by everybody on that side of the arena paying attention, pulling Shafir back out to pretend she wants At OC was a botchamania highlight to be sure. I like Marina in this role a lot, but she still seems completely unaware at times. The Malakai Black promo was coherent(!) and solid. Not that I expect it, but curious to see if Black v Cole helps ticket sales. The Fletcher/Takeshita promo was solid. Ricochet and Davis? I ffwd Lio v Davari. The MxM/Johnny TV promo wasn't without some hiccups, but I loved the crowd eating up the comedy to close. Roddy v Shane Taylor was a nice showcase until the unfortunate finish. I loathe 4 Way matches, especially tag matches, but I guess that's the play when the Tag Champions aren't a draw. Mariah May v Anna Jay was solid. I like Anna, but her in a 'Main Event' is silly. Mariah was her usual awesome, and Jay worked hard. Considering the general talent pool for Collision, and it's B show status, this show would benefit from closing with a taped or live top guys in top feuds promo. Especially on weeks where, no disrepect, non-draws like Jay are featured in the Main Event. Same goes for Rampage. There was plenty here I skipped, but what I narrowed it down to I mostly enjoyed. Fletcher v Komander being the obvious highlight. Thank you to @StuntmanCrowley, his daughter, and all the vocal Philly crowd! Did you make it @JLowe? If yes, very much looking forward to the road report(s).

Yeah that match with Lio was so crisp and fast-paced. I wasn’t overly impressed with LBO Lio a few years back but he’s been fantastic in this iteration. I know people don’t like weight classes so much these days and AEW has too many belts but maybe having a title for the smaller lucha guys could be fun.

Re: Rampage
Nice Beef/JD/Butcher v LFI opener. I get the feeling Beef's gonna be a player one day. He connects instantly any crowd. Great name do that, and the dude's got some strut. I'd love to see them run this back with an additional 5-10 minutes. Let these 6 go wild. I skimmed passed the Taya squash to the poorly edited post match Stokely segment. I liked the idea of Stoke steering shit up. Unfortunately the edit made it look incredibly silly. The attack was strong tho. Putting heat on Taya seems odd. Deona's clearly the player here. Aminata v Leila was nicely contested. The wig slip distracted me, but also kinda pulled me in seeing the ladies fight thru it. As per usual both were impressive. Dug the slide into the 'perfectly fine' Top Flight v Dark Order match. Evil Uno's presentation is so much better than ever before. Love the tie. I miss the Stu/Uno team. Andretti not being an idiot and going after Reynold's injured ribs felt more like a babyface move. The Lio v Komander match nicely closed out the show. I wish AEW ran rematches for the better Rampage bouts. I bet these two could have an even better match on a Dynamite. I'd take a Collision. I'm gonna try and WILL the opening 6 man, Komander/Rush and Grey/Aminata bouts be booked as rematches for the next Collision. Meka Leka Hi Meka Hiney Ho!
