Curt McGirt Posted October 8 Posted October 8 So did they blade in the cage or was it "accidental"? Or actually hardway? I guess that 'as long as you get permission' rule is actually real. And can somebody post some pics either here or in the blood thread? For god's sake it's better than fighting over a friendship bracelet.

For god's sake it's better than fighting over a friendship bracelet. It looks like Punk was a (good) blade, and Drew caught the corner of the toolbox hardway across the scalp. I'm hoping they bought each other some beers after that because both came out looking like a bloody million dollars. 2
Curt McGirt Posted October 8 Posted October 8 (edited) Pic isn't showing at all. Anyway I found the DIGEST VERSION~! of the match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOBsIFZn1gA&ab_channel=WWE And then there's this... and it may be too gnarly for even the blood thread. The squeamish need not click. Spoiler Jesus fuck. The crack about the Muta Scale I thought wasn't quite on point until I saw that closeup of his scalp just starting to bleed again, and looking at this, I won't argue at all. EDIT: Well shit NOW your pic showed up after I refreshed... and you didn't spoiler it! Edited October 8 by Curt McGirt 2
blitzkrieg Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Possibly my favorite thing about NXT moving to CW? Not catching the last few minutes of SVU. Dug The Factory setup as it definitely gave off some Full Sail Vibes. The crowd also seemed really loud all night with them at times seeming to drown out the Vic and Book. Nice to see Wes being moved into the NXT Title picture. The few minutes of interaction between Wes and Trick were good before Jey interrupted. I'm not sure if Wes was actually suppose to get something in after that but the crowd was super into Jey and Trick and that pretty much took things over. Bianca and Jade felt like the right kind of rub for Kelani whose NA Title reign hasn't really gotten to that next level. I really dig the Fatal Influence entrance and think all three have developed good chemistry in the ring. LOUD "We want Jade" chant during the match. Thought overall it was a step up from last week's women tag match, though it made me want to see Jacy/Fallon vs. Bianca/Jade more than Kelani/Fatal Influence. The Daughters of Punk~! Think Roxanne is really starting to get comfortable in her character, Cora on the other hand felt a little stiff and long winded. I probably should have been thinking that Vaquer was the tease but I was thinking Iyo or Kairi. Assume this sets up a tag match for Halloween Havoc and Giulia/Vaquer fighting over who gets Roxanne later. Looking forward to Wren/Vaquer next time, between this and Wren facing Guilia on the Coconut Loop, I think it really shows the faith in Wren. Also like the multi-week building of the next Lexis/Oro match. Suppose it shows how stacked these last two weeks have been that Oba/Tony is starting in the first hour of the show. Loved h ow much the crowd was into it and the reaction that Tony got with the backdrop out of the powerbomb. Tony beating Oba got a legit "Holy shit" out of me as I really wasn't expecting that. That's what he gets for setting the record. I saw that cooler heads prevailed and they realized that the CWC crowd wouldn't be able to handle Jaida/Nikita and went with Lola/Nikita instead. Booker is still going need his heart medication. Cool seeing the interaction between Metafour and Jade/Bianca and a nice twist to have the tag title match on Smackdown. A-Town Down Under/Fraxiom started a little slow but built to a pretty good finish. Like that Frazer and Axiom's friction is being kept to a minimal level so that it doesn't necessarily feel like they're just setting up a break up. I know the promos point to MCMG being a main brand team but MCMG/Fraxiom would be such a great match. The Chase U recap leading to Riley jumping Ridge was a good way to bring the situation back to the spotlight with limited time. Wasn't crazy about the Sexy Red concert but it was a good way to bring Ethan into the show and have a bit of continuity with Raw. Still figure that we get a Punk/Page program eventually but probably not for a bit. Liked the post-apocalyptic promo for Delta. Liked the story of Randy being one step ahead of Je'Von and doing a bit of treating him like a "young boy." Je'Von got to show off his athleticism in spots while Randy got to dominate and hit all of his signature spots. Je'Von's top rope OsCutter always looks great but it was a bummer that they couldn't connect on the twisting splash into the RKO as that would have easily lived forever in the RKO reel. Wes/Page/Evans next week sounds great even if I'm guessing that probably means that we get Wes/Evans at Halloween Havoc instead of Wes/Trick. Also one of these weeks they're going get the timing right and not cut Vic off. 2
Eivion Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Opening with Trick and Wes was decent though the Jey appearance was so random and served no real purpose. Still, I did kind of love seeing the crowd becoming somehow even more unglued when he popped up. Say what you will about his ring work, but Jey has definitely earned his spot as a singles Bianca/Jade/Kelani vs. Fallon/Jacy/Jazmyn was good. Nice action all around with everyone working relatively well together. Was happy to see Lash & Jakara lay the challenge out for the belts later backstage. Roxanne and Cora's segment was decent and firmly established the two as together again before Giulia and Vaquer came down to beat their asses. Oba/Tony II was so damn good. Loved the action. Loved the story and character bits. And I loved the finish which still gave Oba a good amount of protection despite the loss. These two are so damn good, and I can't wait to see how much more they grow in the coming years. Both could easily hit the main roster now and be more than fine ring wise at the very least. FrAxiom vs. A-Town Down Under was another good match. Impressive chemistry and the finishing stretch is another nice bit added to the fire of the eventual Waller/Theory breakup. Orton/Evans was a fine rookie vs. vet match with Evans looking good outside of the finish not quite going right. This was a damn good episode of NXT. Every match was at least good with Oba/Tony being arguably great and easily MOTN. The segments were decent or better while giving further build to various ongoing stories including starting the build to Halloween Havoc's main event. Despite last week having bigger matches this week was a much stronger start to NXT's CW run. 3
hammerva Posted October 9 Posted October 9 (edited) I guess last night is the true test of how Randy Orton has matured as a man because holy shit can you imagine his reaction to that finish about 10 to 15 years ago Edited October 9 by hammerva 3

For Great Justice Posted October 9 Posted October 9 This “beloved legend” run for Orton is so much fun. its going to be a great story in a few years when the next cocky legend killing kid comes along and puts a target on his back 3
Curt McGirt Posted October 9 Posted October 9 All I saw of this was a minute of Orton vs. Je'Von and I swear if you squinted (and when I turned it on I really thought it was him) Je'Von turns into Kofi.
blitzkrieg Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Didn't expect myself to want more Randy Orton interacting with Sexy Red but I do.
DragonZombie Posted October 9 Posted October 9 NXT did good again for TV ratings. From Meltzer's X account, "NXT did 874K/0.24, AEW did 329K/0.10 last night".
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted October 10 Posted October 10 I really liked the main event. Orton was perfect as the vet who wasn't impressed right up until Evans turned it on him. Shame the ending didn't go right but it happens. I really like Fallon's cow print fur coat. Tony beating Oba was a good moment. Hell, even I got pissed when Rizzo got pushed down. I really liked the Delta promo. Interested to see her debut. The video made her look huge. 4

Old, mellow, pothead, family man, Randy Orton has been the best Randy Orton who's ever Randy Ortoned. It's wild how you can watch someone perform for years who you know is good, but you aren't a fan of...and then it changes. I always thought Orton was good and even great at times. I get what all his peers say about him in ring. But he was never someone I got excited for until the last couple of years, and right now he's become one of my favorite active wrestlers. 9
Curt McGirt Posted October 10 Posted October 10 (edited) It happened to me too. Who knows how. You know it (on my part) might be because guys that are vets just seem to slide into a certain role and somehow... solidify their work? You start to enjoy the greatest hits? You know how old and beat up they are and they become more sympathetic for that reason? This happened with broken-ass Tanahashi with me too. Or I could just have a thing for old wrestlers... well, I KNOW I have a thing for older wrestlers. Not like that but you know. (That Fujiwara though... 70+ and Still Sexy) Edited October 10 by Curt McGirt 1

(That Fujiwara though... 70+ and Still Sexy) With Orton, it's a mix of him still being smooth, but having old, slow gravitas in the ring. Mix that with the fact that he's the most comfortable and great on the mic he's ever been, and that his "character " is older, family man who loves weed, and is now a legend. I love the guy now. Matt Riddle is a fucking dumb peice of shit, but RK-Bro was when Randy started becoming one of my favs. Edited October 11 by Johnny Sorrow 3

Glad I got to see Randy Orton at a house show as he doesn't do much European house show tours. Only thing we didn't see was the RKO :(.

Iron Moose Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Really fun but bizarre Sol v Tatum on Main Event this week, where they both step right up to the line of comically overselling dizziness.
HumanChessgame Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Was that a Motor City Machineguns coming soon promo? 1
blitzkrieg Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Thought the opening segment didn't overstay its welcome. Jimmy's character work post-Uso split felt like it was underrated and he did a good job riding the positive reaction of the crowd. Like the more humanized Roman and Jimmy being his reality check. Really enjoyed Carmelo/Knight. Do wish more of 'Melo's control segment wasn't in PIP because I would have liked to hear the crowd reaction. The handstand counter to the BFT and the final BFT sequence were nice. Liked keeping Andrade in both Knight and Melo's orbits and later on setting up match 7 for Melo/Andrade. Continue to love the handling of Kevin/Cody. The best heels are faces in their own mind. Orton/Owens is going to be a really good appetizer on the road to Kevin/Cody. The MetaGirls looked good in their brief control section against Jade/Bianca. Would have liked this to be a bit more than setting up Piper/Chelsea as the next Smackdown challengers. Love the dedication to the old school selling of Chelsea losing the dumpster match. The crowd reaction when Tiffy cashes in grows every week. Crowd seemed a bit disinterested in Nia but they seemed to get into it when Naomi came out. Does feel like they need to work on Liv getting some heat on her own because it feels like Dom and Rhea were the heat generators for that fued. Naomi/Nia wasn't the cleanest or smoothest at times but I enjoyed it. Naomi standing on a bent over Nia and stomping on her was a creative spot. Raquel and Liv costing Nia the match was kinda obvious but it adds some heat to the Crown Jewel match and sets up a Naomi/Nia match for the belt. Rhea showing up on the other hand was completely unexpected. Sign me up for Los Garzas/MCMG next week. Also for a future Street Profits/DIY match. Kenta could have told Cody and Randy to avoid Kevin Owens in parking lots. Was it just me or was Corey doing the Seinfeld "Jimmy" thing before the match? I know Fatu is getting most of the attention these days but Solo has become such a great heel. Match was okay as I don't think Jimmy has ever found his solo match legs. The match and the post-match were effective in setting up the fact that Roman needs to get the band Bloodline back together. 4
