Dolfan in NYC Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 Former O's pitcher Brian Matusz has died. He was 37. 3
Dolfan in NYC Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 You can't spell CLASS without A-S-S... I wouldn't wish my favorite team on my least favorite player.
Tabe Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Is Samson feuding with the team? That seems like him setting up Burnett for a grievance claim.

He's been in an unending war against them since they fired him after Loria sold. The part he always forgets is he a) was there because he was Loria's lapdog, and b) sucked at his job. 1

The later part is why it is so frustrating that media bring him in to discuss... well anything MLB related The local sports station here in DC LOVES to have him on the morning show. So ridiculous
Cobra Commander Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I think Samson gets booked because he simply always answers his phone, sort of the sports radio equivalent of the 24/7 cable news people who practically live in the Green Room

SirFozzie Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Apparently Soto has asked the Mets for permission to play in 10 Dominican Winter League games as part of getting ready for spring training, and rumor has it the Mets are going to allow him. It would be the ultimate LOLMETS moment if he got hurt on a bad field in the DR and never was the same afterwards. 1 2

Crank that Motorhead and rule with an Iron Fist, Steve.

Davis saga from last year)
RIPPA Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Roki Sasaki is close to making his decisions Teams have been told the are out of the running. So far the Giants, Yanks and Mets are all out It seems like the choice is between the Padres and Dodgers (I am sure you are all shocked)
Dolfan in NYC Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 Jeff Hoffman is going to Toronto for 3/30. It's notable because he was going to sign with Atlanta, and then Baltimore (both at 3/40), but failed physicals with both teams.

If you don't know who Salas is... he's a 16 year old from Venezuela.
RIPPA Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Aww.... it's cute you want to count that as spending Speaking of international signings - both the Padres and Dodgers are looking to acquire more international bonus pool funds so they can bump up their offers to Roki Sasaki

Bob Uecker on the best way to catch a knuckleball pitcher: "Usually, waiting for the ball to roll to a stop after hitting the backstop is the best strategy" Bob Uecker on signing bonuses: "There was a $3,000 signing bonus in my first contract with the Brewers, and it took my Dad a long time to come up with the money" Bob Uecker on hitting a grand slam: "I was rounding second, and the manager was coming out to get the pitcher.. and he had brought the pitcher's luggage with him." 2

supremebve Posted January 16 Posted January 16 RIP to Bob Ueker. I don't know if there is a better story of how great of a guy you are than Bob Gibson, who may be the meanest motherfucker of all time, got fined for holding your hand and laughing during team photos. If you can make Bob Gibson a total goofball, at the very least, you have to be a good hang. Plenty of people try to be funny around sports, but I don't know if any have been better than Ueker.
