Casey
Yeah the toolbox busted Drew open hardway. Punk’s color was impressive too, but I get the feeling the idea for the match was for only Punk to be bleeding, barely get by with the victory + all that post-match medical stuff would be another layer in Punk’s overall comeback story thus far. He got mauled by Drew, and still won, but look at the damage done, etc. Punk was having trouble standing up and needed oxygen, meanwhile Drew was already standing up in the ring. Still works despite Drew’s hardway blood, but still. Seth/Punk will be fun, and that matches will bang, but as a biased Punk fan I want a final run on top. But it won’t happen with Cody & Gunther having strangleholds on the title, and in Cody’s case, with people like Roman and Rock lurking around for his not-so-distant future. I expect KO/Cody to last until the Rumble or something, being his stop-gap feud before the gear up to ‘Mania.
StuntmanCrowley
I'm definitely a low voter on Punk as a whole, but goddamn, that was a phenomenal fn match with him and Drew and is on the short list for my WWE MOTY's. Superbly done and my daughter, she normally isn't about blood in wrestling(WWE being her prefernce), but she loved that. The rest of the show was alright, pinning Balor clean was certainly a choice that I don't personally agree with but I'm willing to see where it goes. Anytime something involves Goldberg, it automatically lowers my overall enjoyment of something, but if this leads to Gunther chopping Goldbergs ribcage through his back, I'm absolutely okay with it.
hammerva
Please tell me Gunther vs Goldberg was just Bill trying to get spotlight again and isnt happening. That match is going to be completely terrible. No way Bill ego will allow him to get constantly chopped and forearmed by a much stronger person. At least it will only be less than 5 minutes

The Saudi’s love them some Goldberg and with the new Crown Jewel title I’m thinking it’s Cody vs Sami at Crown Jewel. Plus it makes The Bloodline story going into War Games even more fun if Roman and Sami’s roles are reversed and Roman needs Sami more than Sami needs Roman. Plus the whole idea of Sami having a world title while Roman doesn’t.

Orton/Cena is right behind Triple H/Shawn for being a good sleep inducing match for me. Plus your number one has to be in the top 10 worst WWE PPV matches ever not just HIAC. Yes, #10 is the no contest. #1 is so bad. Felt for Seth Rollins and The Fiend Bray Wyatt there.

Matt D
Other thoughts: Drew really looks like 99 Bradshaw from behind. Punk's kind of going grey in weird ways but maybe Drew should let it happen? Obviously some of the WWE-isms are a lot better than they once were, but hearing Michael Cole say "structure" over and over again just kills the soul. I also saw the opening segment with Cody and that was pretty terrible. At least the meeting with Roman one had a purpose to it. This was just celebratory skit drivel. And I'm someone that thinks they should do KOTR in WWE HQ every year like during the pandemic with that sort of Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World vibe. No major qualms with the match itself. Things mattered and resonated to me for the most part. I had no real idea who was a face and a heel and you wouldn't know it from the crowd. They just wanted to count along with Drew and shout this is awesome and were just happy to be there. That's one thing if it's Ricochet vs Ospreay or even Danielson vs Ospreay but its another if there's the biggest blood feud to enter a HITC in years and years that tried to live up to that hype. I figured they were just both assholes.

RazorbladeKiss87
So Drew lost every match in this feud and won the title and then was cost the title by Punk.....how does this make him look? Maybe I'm being too negative but this feud kinda became a drawn out fart to me. I was in a mental zone at work today and listed what I enjoy about WWE currently and I think that the company is not what I'm looking for in wrestling anymore. From a isolated match standpoint, that was pretty great, outside the cheesy beads bit. Is this the most "in the moment" WWE has been since maybe Rock and Wrestling? It's refreshing to hear something other than tired jaw rock, even if the songs aren't the most high energy.

He was absolutely considered the heel.

It popped me huge. As soon as I saw the velvet bag, I groaned. Tack spots are played out, and in 2024? They stink. When the bracelet parts dropped, and when Punk was shoving them down a Bloody McIntyre's throat, we were losing our shit here.
