Mike Campbell Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 As loathe as I am to be pulling for the Cowboys, it gives me great pleasure to see The Browns getting a big old heap of smack laid down on them. 2
Log Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 So, Tom Brady’s not bad? Just kind of dull. I guess that’s what I should have expected. He’s going to work hard to go in there informed and up-to-speed on everything, but he’s too cautious to let loose with anything too interesting.
hammerva Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 If this was college then the Commanders back up would have been busy because it feels like Jayden lost his helmet in the double digit range
NoFistsJustFlips Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 It's kind of nice to already not have to mentally and emotionally invest in this season. The Giants stink and are going to have a really high draft pick. I can just sit back and spectate the whole season without the ups and downs of following a team, hoping for / expecting success. Hopefully Saquon can get a ring this year. I hate Philly but I always pull for former Giants. Although not a 1 to 1 comparison it's a little like a 'what if' for Barry Sanders leaving The Lions and getting a ring somewhere else.

The Rams were extremely popular here during their title run a few years ago. We were all very happy for Matt Less so tonight.
Mike Campbell Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I thought about doing something else after halftime, and then the Rams started making things interesting.
Contentious C Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Where was this Detroit O line for the entire second half? 1
supremebve Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 That has to be one of the most, "We're more manly than you," drives in a long ass time. They just lined up and ran the ball down the throat of the defense over and over, and the Rams had no chance of stopping them. 1
Cobra Commander Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 The offensive coordinators of 1970s Big 8 teams would be proud of the Lions for that drive

Where is David Montgomery? I want someone to ask him some questions, and for him to look in the camera and growl and bark like DMX. 3
cubbymark Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I miss Montgomery with the Bears. The Lions really tapped into his potential. They aren't scared to give him the damn ball in short yardage situations instead of running shotgun QB read options in goal line situations that failed miserably.

Then he was praising Pittsburgh OC Arthur Smith for getting a big win over the team that fired him, ummm they didn’t score any TD’s, Boz kicked three 50 yard+ field goals and his team has one of the best D’s in the league going against mediocre white QB Kirk Cousins. I was just RedZoning, but I'm pretty sure someone confidently prnounced that the Steelers were going to go for a 4th down early on because of a conservative third down play and out came Boswell for the first time.
hammerva Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 The only issue I saw with Olsen was there was a period where he realized that he was talking for a good minute or so with his mic off Because I was mostly RedZoning as well and the Cowboys vs Browns game was so easy, I didn't get much of Tom Brady debut. From what I have gathered from the little I heard, it was fine but kind of boring.
RIPPA Posted September 9, 2024 Author Posted September 9, 2024 We are already at the point in the Giants season were people are arguing over when its appropriate to boo (Context - Dexter Lawrence gave a post game interview where he was cranky the team was booed AND then, apparently, some fans waited in the parking lot after the game and harassed Daniel Jones as he was getting to his car)

paragon11 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Going back to the talk about Washington's kicker situation. Why didn't they attempt to bring back Joey Slye? Stats show he kicked fairly well for them (81.5% on FGs, 88.9% of XPs, 79.1% touchbacks). I know, the answer is that it's the Commanders, but I'm happy with him so far as a Patriot. He beat out Belichick pick Chad Ryland in camp. Speaking of, maybe he's getting a call or 2 today?

I believe (although I'd have to dig up the whole timeline to be sure) that once they saw that McManus was going to be a free agent, they decided to sign him and not Slye. Of course, no one outside of Jacksonville apparently knew that McManus was a sexual predator...
RIPPA Posted September 9, 2024 Author Posted September 9, 2024 Haason Reddick will officially forfeit a game check for holding out from tonight's game Amount is almost $800K. He has already ranked up $5 million in NFL mandated fines
Travis Sheldon Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I watched the majority of the Raiders vs Chargers game, and the only positive I got from watching is that Boomer Esiason and Phil Simms are history. Actually, Minshew looked fine. Running game was less than desirable. Looks like OC is my biggest gripe. So, just another Raiders game. 1
Tabe Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 The little bit I heard of Brady, thought he was fine. Good for a debut. Had a great interaction yelling "Let's Go Lions" to a guy at a red light yesterday here in Spokane. He had a Lions license plate frame and sticker. He's from Ecorse. It was awesome. Yesterday, we got the Detroit version of Stafford in that game. Running for his life on every down, no run game, one healthy receiver, playing out of his mind. And losing to a playoff team. Love Stafford, wish him all the success. Glad he lost. 2
RIPPA Posted September 9, 2024 Author Posted September 9, 2024 HA! That didn't take long Washington released Kicker Cade York EDIT - Okay, apparently the reason they did it now was because they only owed Cleveland a 7th round pick if he played in two games
