WWE TV - 7/15 - 7/21/2024 - Hey! It's A Party In the Judgement Day!

Recommended Posts

So in the span of about 5 months we went from two characters who were proud of their Native American culture and embraced it to one being gone from the company and another now pretending to be the NXT version of DJZ in Impact Wrestling

Its not all Bray related. Its more about being forgotten and left behind for the other 3. I mostly think they should stop at Bo & Rowan's vids because they started off way too damn strong. I think the other three could probably bring something solid to the table, but they won't resonate anywhere near the same level as Bo's and Rowan's vids. They probably should have saved those two for last.

Totally agree.  Start with a teaser with Bo, then go with the rest and build to Rowan and finally Bo's full story.

I'm calling it now, when Joe Hendry enters Rumble '25 and is going to get an Austin-level titanic pop.

It's going to have to be early, because I'll give the crowd until number 6 before the end of every countdown is going to be "3....2.......1.. JOE HENDRY!" until his music hits.

Well they can't really do one for Dexter because I think the only words he has ever said in the 2 or 3 years of WWE was "I do" during the Indi Hartwell wedding

Have the interviewer ask questions and he just stares at them, until they say something that hits a nerve like "do you still talk to Indi" and he flips out and destroys them.

Two thoughts!

Have Joe Hendry at #2 against one heel to start the rumble and have your cusp heel eliminate him.

DIY is right up there with the new day for hilarious stuff for me.  I expect Ciampa to miss every time.. but how he misses sends me

NXT was another good show. Hendry is way over and the gimmick can easily lean into being a heel. He's also a natural for broadcasting with the voice over package highlighting the events of last week.

Not super into Wendy Chu's direction because it seems like they don't really have one planned for her. We've had no real explanation for what's going on, that I can remember.

Roxanne on the mic is...well, not great. Her dragging words out to sound sarcastic drives me nuts. I'd like Thea to win. Love that goofball.

Opening segment with Cody, Waller, and Theory was a decent set up for the main event.

Andrade/Hayes was pretty solid and a good showcase for both guys. I only wish both had some real direction.

Bianca/Chelsea was sadly super short. What little they did was fun so its disappointing they didn't get a real match, but I loved Chelsea's reaction to losing. Also digging how all the announcers are saying Chelsea's name in the style Samantha Irving does.

Tiffany/Mia was pretty nice until the shenanigans ending with Bayley. Said shenanigans worked well enough, and it was good to see Mia get a victory. Curious to see how Summerslam goes down with Stratton holding the the briefcase. I assume Bayley destroying it here mean we get a nice makeover for it in the coming weeks.

The Paul/Knight segment was mostly good. Also dug the backstage segment setting up Knight/Santos for next week.

Cody/KO vs. Theory/Waller was mostly simple but pretty solid with Waller and Theory getting some good heat on themselves throughout the match, especially Waller. The post match beatdown on Cody and Owens by the Bloodline was good. Loved Owens getting vicious with Tanga Loa withthat eye dig. Jacob Fatu continues to looks like a beast each week. Dug Tama getting the chair spot with Owens to continue looking like vicious bastard as well.

Nothing special match wise though Andrade/Hayes & the main event were both worth a catch. The segments were mostly decent with solid building for Summerslam. Solid show.

That crowd was so hot for the main event tag match. Cody rules as a babyface and hot tag. KO is an incredible Ricky Morton. They made A Town Down Under look fantastic. The end Bloodline stuff was so good. Good catch by Elvion with KO gouging eyes to make the brawl look nastier than usual and showing hate and resorting to something purely violent to combat these thugs. Jacob Fatu is the absolute best henchman. Bloodline should get all the gold.

I remember the nerdy music message board I was posting on obsessing over the song, speculating on what Miley's favorite Jay-Z song actually was then completely turning on her/the song when Miley's Jay-Z ignorance was revealed. People are strange.

I remember this quote from her and some music heads being incensed about it, but looking at her age, when the song was written (probably 07,08) and what Jay-Z had released at the time (that was the "unretirement" Kingdom Come and American Gangster years) which were a down point for him creatively) so I could see her not knowing any songs by him. His big hits would have been when she was not even in middle school.

I just chose to believe that Billy Ray was constantly bumping In My Lifetime as she grew up.

NOAH's Naomichi Marufuji will appear at SummerSlam next month.  He's currently slated as a "special guest."

LVL UP was good this week.

Too busy / moody to do a full write-up, but we had Rizzo over Lainey Reed (Rizzo has some fun bits, including a spinning kip-up; they're both still figuring a lot of things out) Jakara Jackson over Kendal Grey (followed by a vignette with Carlie and Kendal, sounding mostly like humans, about the struggle to adapt to professional wrestling) and Lexis King getting his throne entrance to do commentary on a Thorpe match.

Also, someone used generative algorithms to put Booker T in Joe Hendry's entrance video:
