As a guy who spent 20 years on forklifts.  There was so much wrong with how they worked their way into making that stunt happen.  Like… the guy who was operating the lift prior to them coming around the corner probably has a meeting in the bosses office this morning.

Ugh.  I could smell the propane from the exhaust on the forklift through my tv.

Two things I said about that spot:

(Before) "I don't think Jericho is forklift certified."
(After) "Well, he did a better job at driving a forklift then Wardlow."

People are going crazy praising the Mariah turn on Toni, and rightly so. Look at it side by side with the MJF turn on Garcia the week before, and they're not in the same galaxy (and I say that as a big fan of MJF). But, I can't help but worry that Coach TK is going to wind up cooling her down huge over the next six weeks as they build toward the PPV. Plus, unless the Timeless Toni gimmick is a huge thing over in the UK, Mariah is going to be the 'home team' anyway and get cheered.

We need a Muta scale ranking here. Kudos to Toni Storm for this one. The build from here on in can be really epic.

Not bad, low-average. 0.25 on a 1.00 muta scale (the reason, is that by the end, the volume of plasma is about the same, but Muta's covered their whole face, this one is limited in area covered.

Real-time Rampage! (I'll try to get through Dynamite in full tomorrow. Been another rough week.)

The Kings of the Black Throne is a sick name (and that mask is too!) but I was just listening to the Necromantia/Varathron split so of course I am susceptible to these things. They are way over, but if you put them in against Tony Nese and Fake Ricochet that will happen. Josh Woods also has a horrible haircut now so that's an easy boo. I have NEVER seen anyone lariat someone in the legs, good job Brody. Nese is surprisingly high flying tonight (and the other Tony calls a tope con hiro!). This was really fun, just competitive enough. Good heat and the crowd loved it.

"We're, uh, gonna conglomerate now." 😄

Hey there's Angelico. Feels like it's been awhile. "Don't think Angelico can't fly high as well", yeah cue the Lucha Underground dive gif. Lucha Underground : Shocking Dive from Angelico on Make a GIF

Seeing that as it aired was the coolest shit ever. In fact, this match is kind of an LU reunion. It's too bad Komander wasn't in the fed because he would have smoked almost anyone. Vikingo too. I guess Angelico and Fenix had a bet as to who could pull off the most tricked out submission on poor AR Fox. The Angelico one was killer but the crucifix thing Fenix did felt more old-school, like something Blue Panther would win a fall with. Angelico's was like frickin' Volk Han level.

I don't think I can recall seeing a Rachel Ellering match. Guess she's been hiding in ROH. She's a big gal, looks like she'd make a cool tag team with Deonna. That spinning European uppercut was cool. Unfortunately it feels like she just kind of stops to let Rosa get her shit in and win. And there right on cue is Deonna; I guess the chance of that tag isn't happening. Still think Rosa needs to be a heel sometime.

Tommy Billington vs. Takeshita made me look and see if there was ever a match between Jumbo and Dynamite and apparently they did a few tags, are they any good? Some aren't even broken-down Dynamite either but back in '85. I didn't see a bunch of the main here but damn does that punch to finish rule. In Jericho's first book he said he had to work in WAR for awhile before he finally ended up winning a match with a punch, and that sounds really funny considering it's Jericho (I'm imagining it was either Damien 666 or a completely unknown young boy who has now been wrestling in indies for 30 years), but Shane Taylor? Yeah dude, THAT is a finish.

Good show. Memphis still loves wrestling.

Max Caster is a 34 year old man who grew up wealthy. He's not going to be 100% up to date with contemporary music, is he?

Didn't realize Caster's dad also played in the NFL. Yeah, a guy around that age who grew up in the Long Island burbs (hell most of America) is very likely going to have an affinity for that sub genre of rap. I'd be shocked if he didn't perk up if you mentioned Rhymesayers or something similar.

Will Smith is way older than backpack rap. But, as a 40 year old man, I lived through both, and the whole Eyedea/Atmosphere/Aesop Rock/even Doom contingent might be right in his wheelhouse, being younger than me.

I feel so out of date now. I don't know any of these trap guys at all.

His tights at Forbidden Door were a tribute to De la Soul’s Three Feet High and Rising album. He’s definitely more of an old-school/underground inspired  flow than Swerve’s theme style.

Rampage happened, took a time warp back to Memphis which I didn’t even realize until halfway through…did they combine two tapings?

The lucha 4-way started really bad, then got really interesting when it was any pareja not involving Angelico, who seemed mostly there as a base but apparently not as the guy to eat the fall. I like Fenix, this just felt like a match win no stakes and an outcome that didn’t really change anything.

Varsity Athletes, meh. Was almost interesting when they creamed Malakai with the clipboard (hardway) and hit a top rope move, but Malakai kicked out. Not as egregious as Nese kicking out of a sheer drop brainbuster. I don’t know, I half paid attention. I guess my monkeys paw of wanting more House of Black as a tag team rather than trios is this?

Roddy Strong squashes a very tall dude. Highlight was Orange Cassidy saying something like “well, guess it’s time to go do a staredown” and then O’Reilly saying “staredowns are rad!”. Because of injuries, the Undisputed Kingdom angle and faction was practically DOA, but now they’re so cold they need to be measured on the Kelvin scale.

Deonna vignette was great, really got across the character and the motivation.

I was good with the Learning Tree for a while, but I’m way done with it now. Joke has been run into the ground.

Rosa looked like she was gonna squash Ellering, then it turned into a decent match with a nice submission finish, followed by a nice run-in from Deonna.

Main event just felt like something we’ve seen a lot of these past 3 months, although I think I’m imagining that. I guess they’re trying to give Ogogo a little rub to get on the card at Wembley, but I’m not even sure why they’ve kept him around. Darius and Lee have the best parts of the match. STP winning was a bit of a surprise, I’ll give them that.

Speaking of which... why does Swerve's theme boast about his poor driving skills?

I’ve assumed it’s a reference to the lane switching/swerving aspect of southern rap car culture.

Danielson vs. Hangman was great, of course. There isn't much to say on this end. The look on Jarrett's face when he had to walk away from Hangman was priceless. It just made me think "THAT is a pro move", he looked like he was gonna cry and then the regret washed over him, that my friends is how you do it.

Didn't watch all of the Joe/Jericho brawl but the horseshoes was a good Calgary nod and the announcer using the Owen Voice to end the match was *chef's kiss* even if a little tasteless. As a rib he might've actually liked it.

Sure there's a lot of good in this but I'm skipping the talking and the four-way (or is it five?).

Hey, they are letting the ladies end things! Both a long promo and a main event. Things sure have gotten better on the women's front after too long. Willow has the Attitude-era Owen gear on! Man, that's even better. Of course the two of them had a great match, there were a shitload of reversals. Mariah could have maybe been stiffer, but she was working face... until the end. Which was about the best thing ever. Howcome nobody said anything about Luther? He totally deserved his paycheck because Mariah was PASTING him before he went through the tables. Aubrey even took a bump! This is gonna be an insane blood feud and we are going to love it.

Thank you! I mean, I have no idea what that is, but I'm willing accept its being a reference to a subculture I know nothing about as an answer.

Because his name is Swerve? 😀

Well, yes, that too, but I had always assumed the name was meant to be less literal than that.:)

I'm watching now, and actually hit rewind during Deonna's (f'n great) promo to make sure I wasnt having some kind of DVR problem. I think it's scheduled this way because they taped Collision after Dynamite this week instead? I'm not 100 percent certain on this and could totally be misremembering so don't quote me, but I seem to recall that when Ex was doing the on sale ad reads for the Canadian dates, the graphic said Dynamite/Collision as opposed to Dynamite/Rampage or ROH/Collision.

ETA: Not just saying this because I'm an Angelico guy and AR Fox homer, but this tag match is awesome so far btw

Edit 2: lol Renee is all of us "What the hell, Chris" I couldn't tell if Bill was breaking at that or just mugging

Rachael Ellering... whew. Not to draw the ire of Rocco but settle me gently, friends.

Look up the Andrew Callahan Channel 5 doc on the Kia Boyz, it's a thing people do when they steal cars

😄 I don't feel exactly the same but I almost pulled a DEAN and wrote something about "big mean wimmens" and the Knockouts division.

They needed to sub Brian Cage for Kommander in that four way, or shit, bring in Rey Horus for one night, and put Knox in as the ref, to get that full Lucha Underground reunion vibe.

Dude I just realized this but did I not just read here within the day that supposedly none of the AAA guys were gonna be working AEW anymore?? I know part of the show was from MS but that was still taped a week after FD

I think Rachel was on the show (and will hopefully be on more) because of the Chris Hero connection.
