This is a real conspiracy theory of mine:

Hansen didn't actually break Bruno's neck.  Bruno wanted some time off, so they worked this angle, and the idea was to give the rub to a young Hansen for the injury.

Plausible. How does Vince Sr. seeing Bruno in the hospital begging him to return earlier for the Shea Stadium card (because the Ali-Inoki main event was going to bomb) fit in there…?

Bruno breaking his neck was legitimate, at that point even though Bruno was champion he was working a reduced schedule and if it was an angle they would have done an angle on tv, not the retcon of The Lariat breaking it at MSG with no footage.

Also, Stan Hansen had perfect eyesight.

I'm not familiar with that story.  But after the April match at MSG with Hansen, Bruno worked a match in May against Ivan Koloff, and then the Shea Match in June.

My explanation for this is just that Bruno was probably legitimately injured in some way, and was tired of working thru it, and pretty much walked out.

Camp Crystal Lake from the 1980 horror film Friday the 13th is located at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in Hardwick Township, New Jersey.

But not near Voorhees Township. However, Haddonfield, New Jersey is near there, which is where Haddonfield, Illinois in the Halloween series got its name.

Bruno talked about all the issues he had with the McMahon’s and the times he walked away from them, he never said anything about bailing or needing to take time off during that timeframe. He was doing huge business in that 2nd title run and was getting a bigger percentage of the gates compared to the first, Hansen botched a body slam and broke Bruno’s neck, no conspiracy just a shit happens moment. Also, there’s multiple interviews out there where both of them talk about what happened.

The only one that I've ever heard, that I've actually given serious clout to was that the producers of Beyond The Mat paid Colette Foley to purposely make the children more upset during filming to generate more interest/controversy/drama.

That is not true.   Bruno did not work a match in May 1976 against Koloff or anyone else.

Thankfully, Gen X, or millennials, I forget which, is the first generation where this hasn't happened.

I may be wrong, but millennials were the first generation not to have better standard of living than their parents when reaching adulthood. Gen X was still teetering on the edge of that one, but not quite falling over. So there's really no reason for millennials to automatically become more conservative after growing up, since they don't necessarily have so much to "conserve" as of yet.

This is probably more of an urban legend but the idea that WCW was finally going to bring in Lanny Poffo with the Gorgeous George gimmick in 99

i could be misremembering, since it's been YEARS AND YEARS since i listened to it, but i think in one of Lanny's shoot interviews, he confirms that he was notified about coming in. I remember him talking about getting back into ring shape.

Or not perfect, but only just requiring glasses for seeing far away. He knew exactly where you were in the ring when he chose to blast you full force with those lariats.

More likely that Johnny and Taya are cyborgs. Taya is clearly some kind of robotic creation.

Johnny is actually from the the same production line as me, only slightly advanced version, since he is newer model. Taya is in fact the most popular robotic creation the company has at this point. That one sells A LOT!

There is not going to be anything left for anyone to conserve.

When I was a kid at the roller rink I saw someone who both my dad and I swear looked exactly like the Undertaker (this was within the first year of his arrival) and while in retrospect I don't think he was quite tall enough to be him part of me likes to believe that he was secretly a roller skating enthusiast and it was possible to catch him at random rinks if you showed up when WWF was in town.

A friend of mine conflated the very real death of Kerry von Erich (He Said "Texas Tornado") with a beatdown angle from Taker. He was convinced Taker had killed Kerry, putting him in a bodybag etc.

In hindsight this sounds horrible, but nobody over here knew it was a suicide. Also, the timelines probably never added up, but he was convinced. I still found it odd since Wrestling "was a show and they didn't Hurt each other for real", so this never made sense to me.

Maybe Brian "Killdozer" Lee was?
