Okay, so I just made it to the end of this taping cycle a couple weeks ago with the last show airing the same day as King of the Ring 1995. Yeah, having listened to the STW episode for KotR and also reading bits and pieces from the Observer, it's hard to believe Benoit didn't make it in due to height and size. Maybe Benoit didn't want to give up his Japanese commitments or something. The WWF roster in June 1995 was probably the worst it's been post going national. It needs a few more workhorses to carry the load. They had just starting cooling on Hakushi a bit by this time, but they also had Rad Radford and Candido just started as Skip. 1-2-3 Kid had just come back from one of his many injuries. The super push for babyface Shawn Michaels had just started. Those guys are around the same size as Benoit. If he was working Owen, they could have botched 50% of their offense and still had a better match than 75% of the roster. Hell, Spivey just started as Waylon Mercy. He's barely mobile. How do you come away from what's been going on the last several months (late 94 to the end of the first half of 95) and not sign Benoit? I believe Dustin Rhodes is about to come in shortly and get a big push. Rightly so cause this roster is terrible.

According to the book I just read on ECW this is what happened, was offered a contract but opted to stick with splitting ECW and Japan dates

She had the match of the night when I saw her wrestle for NJPW in Ontario, CA. She's a hell of a get for the HBK/HHH regime. Is this their first big free agent signing? If so I'm sure how she fairs will influence other FA's down the road

That's great for her!  Hope they take good care of her and don't give her a stupid name, make her talk like a moron and change all her moveset etc.

Giulia would count, right?

The Tongans and Giulia are all bigger names and probably cost more to bring in, but Vaquer probably has the most buzz with people really taking notice of her form her performances this year in Stardom, NJPW, and AEW.

since the topic of dark matches came up.. I thought up an idea for an angle that may not have been done, or not done often

Babyface A is in a dark match before the show with someone, either someone being tried out or maybe just someone who isn't on TV match. Babyface wins the match, then gets jumped postmatch by the person they're feuding with.

Then on the actual TV show, the footage is aired of the attack that happened "before our show started"

So basically it's the "jumped in the back" angle that has been done over and over, only it's after a dark match. I'm sure there's an appropriate "on-screen" explanation for dark matches too. ("This guy wasn't on the card and wanted to get some action so we put him in a match with a prospective wrestler before our show started"). It would make more sense than having this angle during a house show where the presence of cameras would be a real "ANGLE ALERT" to fans. Meanwhile if anybody wanted to know why the dark matches were being filmed... it's to get the camera crews ready to film the show. Yeah that's the ticket.

I know there's a balance between being too predictable and being unpredictable without reason, but in the scheme of things, it's more fun to kinda keep the fans on the toes that anything could happen, even if it doesn't always happen.

As I said before, the NXT name generator is so preposterous.

I would just like to remind people that Bron Breakker totally chose his own name, and no one has any idea why he went with that one.

It’s not a bad wrestler name (could be Braun Breaker, but they’ve already got a Braun). Do we know it has his decision to not be named Steiner?

Bronson Steiner would be a great name, but most of your audience likely doesn’t know who Charles Bronson was to get the bad assfactor over.

The Deathwish feels like it should be the name of a move that Scott Steiner invented to drop someone on their head
