Cliff Hanger Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Logan Paul has filed a defamation LOLsuit against Youtuber Coffeezilla over the latter's comments and videos about Paul's failed NFT game (scam.) As is often the case, there's a lengthy list of accomplishments there to establish what an incredible reputation he has and thus how awful it is to be called a scammer. He lists himself as "reigning" WWE US Champ in this section; I asked Mike Dunford of Questionable Aufhority if this means he has to amend after Summerslam but he didn't pick my question. (It isn't likely to survive a motion to dismiss, per Mike, as Paul's case is basically "I hired people to make a great game based on my three sentence idea and instead they scammed my fans, so it's unfair for this asshole to say *I* scammed my fans and 'lent my name' to the project!")

For those who have strong feelings and a PM just won't do, here ya go. https://discord.gg/kyBKaHE It also has all the other usual topics like wrestling, music and other things so it's not all just for politics. I mean everyone knows which side of the fence Hogan was on this issue since the beginning, but still... the wildest part of the whole BATB commentary is how it seemed like none of the other commentators actually wanted to acknowledge anything Bobby said after awhile, like the commentary was just a bunch of despairing people on their own wavelengths Tony's line closing the PPV was an all-timer though Edited July 19 by Cobra Commander 5
Leonidas Posted July 19 Posted July 19 I want a Batista fashion watch about his hairpiece in his My Spy film sequel that's coming out soon or is already, I wasn't paying attention to anything except the wig. Simon Cowell! That's who it makes him look like. 1 3

Raziel Posted July 20 Posted July 20 I mean, he's 55, and he doesn't have whatever Dwayne has in his head that he has to be huge and all over the place every minute. He wants to not live in the gym anymore, he's earned it. 3
zendragon Posted July 20 Posted July 20 He's still bigger than your average human (especially considering many actors are on the shorter side). I wonder if its a conscious decision to aim for more character driven in hollywood (as opposed to Dwayne going for larger than life action star)

Heenan really put Cornette over huge and I think he was great asset to WWF especially at that time but Yokozuna was the biggest heel but I don't know what other top heel would be a good fit for Cornette to manage. Maybe if they put him with Jarrett and gave him a major push as a top heel? I think I brought this up about a year or so ago: The problem with Jim coming in as the mouthpiece is eventually it became too obvious he was a mouthpiece, and he's carrying too much of the load especially as time goes on. The difference between his previous work pre WWF and then WWF is you wanted to see Jim get his ass whooped as the smarmy heel in the case of the former. Outside of like the match with Lothario to start writing him off WWF TV and getting punched by Shawn Michaels, there wasn't much in the way of physical involvement or interaction outside what a heel manager would typically do cause they didn't do the southern heel heat shit in WWF. That and by like 1995/1996, Cornette was in terrible physical shape. So he probably couldn't do much anyway. So if you have a top babyface like a Diesel or Undertaker or eventually Shawn Michaels, the feud is the top heels vs. them, not Cornette vs. those guys. Go back and watch like the Yoko vs. Taker feud several months in where Cornette is cutting a different promo every week either on Raw or syndicated TV. There all good to great promos, but unfortunately, they don't really get you pumped to see those matches. You can literally replace those heels with anyone mean mugging behind Cornette. It's the same template and you can change guys out without noticing. You almost start tuning it out. It became a big issue with Camp Cornette as well. At some point, those guys need to be able to cut if not a strong promo, a passable promo that makes you believe. Those guys need to be able to show authority with OR without a manager speaking for them. Unfortunately, what Cornette was extremely gifted at became an impediment for the guys he was to suppose benefit. 2
Cobra Commander Posted July 20 Posted July 20 it's possible Yokozuna turned face a year too late, although it made sense to turn him when Vader showed up.. Yokozuna 1995 was just sorta a large guy who mostly worked tag team matches

The Natural Posted July 20 Posted July 20 (edited) Speaking of Bobby Heenan, this is probably my favourite by Heenan about Fk Hulk Hogan: Eric Bischoff: When Flair walked by he held up 4 fingers. That was the sign of the 4 Horsemen. Bobby Heenan: When Hogan walked by I held up one finger. WCW Halloween Havoc 1994. Edited July 20 by The Natural 2 3
Sex Machine Gun Posted July 20 Posted July 20 I can't get back to the page and quote someone because I'm on a phone and when I read pages of threads they're lost forever unless it's one of the first pages or the very last page buuuuuut: God does that old Raw is War intro still rule. It isn't just nostalgia, it's the whole thing. They have that ramping up WWF Attitude bumbumbumbumbumbum bit with the flashes of sound. Thorn in Your Eye goes HARD with synchronized clips of dudes getting pasted with weapons. Then you get the We're All Together Now guitar loop while rockets come screaming in and exploding around the entrance with the camera set at the bottom of the line where the rockets fly down and make impact. The arena is sold OUT and probably did in like a couple of hours at most. Signs are EVERYWHERE and the crowd is batshit. JR comes in and tells us where we are and says the arena is sold out before some major heel or face's music hits and just about EVERYONE is over with the crowd. You were lucky if you got to experience that every single week. God, it was so hype. A perfect opening. 7
Cobra Commander Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Looking at pics I pulled off an old hard drive and remembering watching the 2010 Royal Rumble through means only to have it freeze on me in this spot:
