Dolfan in NYC Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I've got the brains, you've got the looks... Let's make lots of money! We're back from Scotland and that dastardly evil CM Punk cost Drew McIntyre the title when the spur in his shoulder acted up. Oh well! We turn the page to Money in the Bank! I've had enough of scheming and messing around with jerks... ask yourself this question, do you want to be rich? So, we've got MitB qualifiers tonight, along with a sure to be furiously angry Drew, a furiously horny Dominick, and to top it all off.... time to say Howdy to a new friend! Oh, there's a lot of opportunities... if you know when to take them, you know? Enjoy the week! 4
odessasteps Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Didn’t see this posted yet. Asuka had her knee surgery, Based on seeing the sign for the Birmingham VA center, I’m guessing Dr James Andrews or his crew did it.
Raziel Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Good thing Drew "quit" else he'd have been murdered by Uncle Howdy and co.

Raziel Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I'm wondering who the 5th is, because there's no way Blonde Dread Mask was Lumis. But the other 3 are definitely Cross, Rowan, and Gacy.
username Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Man it look like they blew that one backstage guy's brains out all over that back wall; TBF if I were booked like they generally were during their earlier runs I'd have done the same thing. I maintain that I don't think it is gonna work but I'm open to giving it a shot and I hope it has meaning/provides some closure to Bo and Rowan. 1
TheVileOne Posted June 18 Posted June 18 The Wyatt Six (Sicks?) looked like a lot of schlocky garbage, and I'm not sure how you make this work on TV. Like how do you put these guys over and make them look legitimate and then make credible workers want to work with them? So they literally murdered everyone backstage? Now what? After Wyatt came back to WWE, it was cool and everyone got excited, but they had no idea what to do with him after that. I see nothing good coming from this. This felt like rehashed, reheated nonsense. 1

Bo was Howdy.(h/t to @ChesterCopperpot for correction.) Edited June 18 by Ace

hammerva Posted June 18 Posted June 18 It is nice to know that even with Triple H under the reign that the draft doesn't mean shit. Punk showing up at Smackdown only because it is in Chicago. although I assume they will do something about Punk and Wade Barrett since Wade said he should have been fired It is funny that Joe Gacy who in CZW was originally called "Sloppy Joe" by the marks because of his in ring look and is now debuting on the main roster as a pig with serious weight problem. 1
Cliff Hanger Posted June 18 Posted June 18 The Wyatts thing didn't really do anything for me beyond "god damn that's a lot of fake blood, and Gable and Jey aren't even getting shelved for a week?" I have a pretty high tolerance for spooky shit and "high gimmick" characters but I was left just thinking "well that's gonna be a lot" 1
hammerva Posted June 18 Posted June 18 (edited) Again the problem with this is going to be the same issue Bray Wyatt had. I know we are supposed to not speak ill of the dead but when the bell rang for the most part the matches weren't very good. At least during the end of his run as his WM match against Cena and Taker were good and his matches with Bryan were very good. But after that not so much as it was mostly bells and whistles. Is Bo Dallas better in the ring than Bray? I don't think so. right now the best wrestler in this faction is Nikki Cross and they will probably make her a manager only. Someone needs to be the Luke Harper of the group and not sure who that is Edited June 18 by hammerva 3

My recollection is that Michael Cole declared CM Punk a free agent during the draft. But the whole free agent aspect is a murky, nebulous thing anyway. The brand split's problem has always been it erodes after a while, the drafts make no sense, and they ignore it often.

Punk was the round 2 pick for RAW on the second night of the draft (RAW edition).
Raziel Posted June 18 Posted June 18 So, anyone able to pick out anyone that was murked besides Gable and Road Dogg?
hammerva Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Speaking of Gable, I thought he re-signed with the company. He was definitely booked as someone who isn't. 2 1

Lawful Metal Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Well, at least Alexa didn’t get sucked into this mess. I don’t think anyone really missed Bo, Nikki, Lumis, Redbeard, or whoever the other guy is. this reminds me of whatever that Antifa gang with the masks was with Dijak and Mia Yim and all that wow 1 1
The Comedian Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I would think Gunther is too protected right now to be Wyatt Family 2.0 fodder... And I agree with hammerva, the way they're booking Gable right now just screams, "Bryan Danielson vs. Charles Betts, next week on Dynamite!"...
NikoBaltimore Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I thought the ending was good if a bit overdone for my liking. I'm hoping Gacy has a chance to shine since he seems like somebody that will dive completely into this whole thing. I also wonder if they knew Nikki was gonna be part of this when they had her standing there doing nothing before she disappeared. If so then that's some long-term stuff that didn't connect the dots for me until last night. I'm interested to see where things go but Hammerva did make some solid points about the actual matches. But far and away my favorite stuff on Raw continues to be the Dom/Liv stuff. Between what they're doing and Pat's telestrator breakdowns it's the one thing I willfully show my wife who is getting a kick out of it all. 1
Greggulator Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Gable has been awesome. He has had more screen time than pretty much everyone since WrestleMania. The story has a lot of depth and has helped get Otis and Maxine and Tozawa very over. Sooner or later it’s going to end with Gable with The Creeds and Ivy Nile and it’s going to be awesome. Well-paced getting there for SummerSlam or etc. I can easily see Gable stealing the match next week and ending up with the briefcase at the PPV while aligned with the new Team Angle. All of the Bron/Sheamus/Kaiser/Sami stuff was great. Bron vs. Sami is going to be awesome. Bron is a PPV banger away from being the next big thing and who better to guide him to a MOTYC than Sami? The Wyatt’s stuff was awesome. It reminded me a lot of The Nexus debut from way back when. It took place around the same time to set up a giant SummerSlam angle. It was some awesome just seeing a cult like massacre without seeing what happened. They laid out everyone without care. I am the biggest Bray Wyatt and Wyatt Family mark here and this was so cool. 3

For Great Justice Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I can’t think of an Existential Threat storyline that’s worked since the NWO. There’s that one, there’s Stop The Matsunaga, and that’s the list of good ones? It’s the sort of thing that plays well in comics but just doesn’t translate to the wrestling medium. Nexus, Retribution, … The O.G. Yokozuna push was kind of like this and that was awesome, so there’s another. I do agree the group needs a workhorse. Is Ciampa hurt? He’s a fit. 1
