Dolfan in NYC Posted June 3 Posted June 3 The gimmick was to do a Clash song each week until we got to the PLE, but, AJ decided otherwise on Friday: What will the fallout of THIS be? Let's find out this week!
Curt McGirt Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Can we just have Bron spear all of them and throw them through things then get ran off by security? 1
Eivion Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Opening segment with Liv, Dom, and Finn was enjoyable. I like how they are selling this as Liv openly trying to seduce and manipulate Dom to her side. Finn having that get away fro my son energy was amusing. Sheamus/Kaiser was damn good and nice proving match for Kaiser even if the finish could have been a bit stronger. Dragon/Finn was good and nice showcase for Lee even with the loss. The Alpha Academy/Sami segment was good and another great heel moment for Gable. Loved Gable being so happy and proud of how it all went down backstage. They have made him such a tremendous psychopath. Bron/Ricochet was good. Dug the finish a good bit and the post match was nice build and setup for Bron/Ilja next week. Nattie/Kiana was a solid showcase, but it also showed a lack of decent building for characters for both women. Neither is terribly charismatic so a crowd this large was largely sitting on their hands. The later backstage segment with Sonya talking to Nattie before Shayna and Zoey at least hints something might be on the horizon for Nattie. She is still someone I think would be better off in NXT or out of WWE entirely at this point. Bron/Carlito was a alright squash. The post match beatdown by Judgement Day including a rescue of Dom by Liv was where the real story was. Bianca/Jade vs. Shayna/Zoey was solid up until the on-finish with Unholy Union coming down and beating Jade and Bianca. I disliked the non-finish, but I assume this is to give Shayna and Zoey some protection as Shayna ha sPLE singles in NXT coming this weekend and the story with Sonya is still building. I am pleased to see Fyre and Dawn finally getting some build. They are one of the better tag teams among the women and have good chemistry in and out of the ring. Its been a shame how little they have been used the past year. Hopefully they don't just disappear once the obvious triple threat at Clash occurs. New Day vs. AOP was a surprising squash with Kross's interference ending things sooner than later. Was disappointed with this as New Day vs. AOP is something that deserves proper time to build. I also just find this story with Kross attempting to corrupt Woods to unbelievable. There just is no chemistry there. Priest/Rey built into something good despite some off slower moments for a couple of big moves. Dug the post match with LWO taking a beating and Drew coming down to attack Priest only to once again end up on his back due to his focus on CM Punk. Some solid-good wrestling with Bron/Ricochet & Sheamus/Kaiser being the standouts and well worth catching. There was a lot of moving parts here as well with tons of solid segments and nothing wearing out its welcome time wise. Good show overall. Only weird thing I have to mention is how heel success heavy it was. Not sure even one face came out successful though to be fair with how the crowds reacts people like Bron and Liv could be argued to be tweeners. 2
odessasteps Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Woods has talked for so long about wanting to be a heel. I just wonder if the company would worry a heel turn would affect UUDD in a negative way. Would viewership/ad stuff drop if he was a heel and/or would it turn people off if he was a heel on RAW but the old nice guy on UUDD?

It is kind of weird to see Big Bad Guy Adam Cole on AEW TV then happy go lucky, kind of goofy Chugs on Twitch and a company stream. 1

Good for her! 1
Curt McGirt Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Swear for a second I thought Paul was Kross when they panned by all the members AOP vs. Gates of Agony is kind of a dream match that needs to happen someday. Kaiser needed the win, and Sheamus actually got bloody? Don't recall GUNTHER even doing it to him to that extent.

If it was just about getting Dawn and Fyre on Clash they could have easily waited until the match was over for the attack. The fact that they went for a non-finish feels like an attempt to protect Shayna and Zoey as well.
StuntmanCrowley Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Gable/Zayn/Alpha Academy Liv/Dom Are easily two of my favorite things in WWE right now. 1

It really just kinda served to further interject Dawn and Fyre into the mix without hurting any of the other teams since they didn't really even lay out Bianca and Jade. 1
odessasteps Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Wonder if Dom is hoping this is one of the wrestling things where the angle becomes a shoot.

NikoBaltimore Posted June 5 Posted June 5 So the opening segment was wonderful and all but Pat's breakdown took it to another level. 1 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted June 5 Author Posted June 5 You know, Ethan Page made it sound like there were two stips on his contract. But both seem to be "I get a title shot"? 1
Eivion Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Grace/Turner was a fun squash. Turner got in just enough personality, and Grace had a nice showcase showing tons of power and presence. The NA Women's title summit was the usual everyone eventually harping at each other but served well as a build in for the 6-woman tag later in the show. Dug the later backstage stuff with Mia, Grace, Arianna, Sol, Tatum, and Jaida all interacting. The Inside Look for Shayna/Lola was neat. Was fun to see Barnett backing Shayna. Thea/Jazmyn was a mixed bag. Thea looked good for most of it, but there were times where she and Nyx just seemed off with each other. Its a pity since it started out well. Kind of dug the finish though I don't think Nyx should have won. The Spears/Evans brawl was good and I dug the build up to it. Tony/Damon was solid though a bit disappointing after Tony and Charlie had such a nice match for the Cup previously. Still, I actually dug the finish a decent bit. Nattie/Izzi was decent. The Gallus/Ob/Wes segment was fine. Dug Lash/Fallon/Kelani vs. Mia/Jaida/Sol a good deal. I liked them mixing the faces and heels together to change up dynamics and build off earlier encounters during in the show. Made the growing animosity and eventual break down make all the more sense at the end. Led a good finish in front of a returning Jacy Jayne who watched on the outside with Nyx. The final segment with Page signing his contract to NXT and a shot at Trick and the title was solid if a few minutes too long. Match wise this was a weaker show than usual. It was down to 5 compared to the usual 6-8, and one of those was squash. Even saying that I thought the squash was one of the more entertaining bits from tonight though the 6-woman tag was easily MOTN and worth catching. There was a lot of forward moving segments though the quality varied. Still more on the decent-solid side than not. Not the best NXT episode but still decent enjoyable. I'm digging the focus on women. The division feels like it has the most momentum right now with so many characters involved and regular build. Feels weird we are going into a PLE with neither Thea or Tatum having anything to do though there was at least a hint Tatum could get further involved with Jordynne Grace though I'm no sure that will be for NXT specifically. 1
Log Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Is Gunther on Smackdown? Taking the boy to see it live Friday and hoping to get to see him.
Just Adam Bay Bay Posted June 5 Posted June 5 5 minutes ago, Log said: Is Gunther on Smackdown? Taking the boy to see it live Friday and hoping to get to see him. He’s on Raw unfortunately. Smackdown has Cody, AJ, Bayley, Tiffany Stratton, LA Knight, The Bloodline, and possibly Logan Paul (if he’s booked this week)
GodzillaPerez Posted June 5 Posted June 5 He's on Raw but sometimes they bring people from other rosters for dark matches.
