Stefanie Sparkleface
Just saw Saran was booked for Stardom's next New Blood show, so the Stardom/Ice Ribbon relationship seems to be growing. Saran seems a lot more confident in the last couple of months, so it'll be good for her to get this experience. She's only 15 so she has plenty of time to learn. Strange choice to go 15, even stranger because it's now Saran's longest singles match ever by a significant margin (she went 12 twice, against Ibuki Hoshi and Makoto). HANAKO's come a long way since I first saw her as Risa Fera, but neither are really experienced enough to do 15 yet. Still, decent enough for the experience level.
Ace
Considering the end of the show, Saran should've won. She's senior to HANAKO, and wanted a shot at the New Blood Tag titles. HANAKO's about to get a reboot as a tag partner when QQ loses tonight.

Yeah the match was not bad at all, but both need someone with more experience on the other side to be going 15 right now. Does Hanako regularly hold back like she did here? You could tell at times stuff as simple as her stomps were not really connecting at all.

If so, yes, she's still very tentative. I tend to cut her slack since she's only 15, and people have always taken it easy on her in terms of physicality (and thank goodness for that, poor kid). She's actually burst into tears during matches before because she thought she hurt someone. Tsukasa Fujimoto has been working with her a lot since she came back, and it's done her a world of good; she's more confident than she's ever been, but she's still a kid and she hesitates a lot. That said, she wrestles Arisa Nakajima on Sunday, so... trial by fire.

Still its interesting to hear Saran has these types of issues. Glad she is building up confidence though hearing Arisa is her next opponent kind of scares me for her. Hope it goes well. I don't watch enough Stardom to give a full report on HANAKO, but when she was Risa Fera, she was ROUGH. But then again, she was basically a backyarder doing a Risa Sera parody gimmick and is actually getting trained now via Stardom. She's kinda like MICHIKO, the former Cassandra Miyagi, in that she is blessed with size but doesn't really seem comfortable using it yet. MICHIKO has grown into it and I think HANAKO will too, she just needs experience. EDIT TO ADD BECAUSE I POSTED TOO FAST LIKE A DOOFUS: With regard to Saran, she can be inconsistent, but again, she's a kid. I don't think it's really an issue insomuch as she's just young. Ice Ribbon's a perfect place for her right now, because it's a good low-pressure environment (impending Arisa Nakajima match notwithstanding). Ace
Stardom The Convergence Spoilers Spoiler FWC vs Wing*Gori was phenomenal and is on the Youtube preshow, As is SLK vs Mei Seira. Â Syuri (as Kagetsu) & Ami Sorei vs Mayu Iwatani & Momo Kohgo (dressed as Fuka) with Anna Hirai as "Mayu Iwatani" was fun as hell. Including a portion where Syuri couldn't tell which Mayu was which and started wrestling Hirai. Starlight Kid has chosen to create a stable with Suzu Suzuki and Mei Seira. Saya Kamitani is the only remaining member of Queen's Quest. Momo first turned on Tora, and then turned again on Saya. SLK requested that AZM and Miyu Amasaki join them. God's Eye also came out to consider taking one of the ex-QQ members. Mika Iwata (Sendai Girls) defeated Saori Anou to win the Wonder of Stardom title. Saori walked away afterwards, completely shattered. Maika retained the title against Xena, giving her the best match she's ever had. Tora and Ruaka came in afterwards. They teased Xena joining OT, but Xena ended up chopping the hell out of Tora. Tora and Ruaka started stomping until Tomoka Inaba ran in, as she's facing Maika in July in JTO. Stefanie Sparkleface
Ice Ribbon's show is in intermission. Spoiler Mayu Iwatani retained the IWGP Women's Title over Tsukasa Fujimoto by a referee stoppage when Tsukka dislocated her elbow doing the Venus Shoot. Tsukka attempted to keep going, but the referee stopped the match. Yuji Nagata did not end up reffing, but read the proclamation instead. Until the injury, the match was phenomenal, and hopefully when Tsukka heals up we get a rematch. Â
Stefanie Sparkleface
More Ice Ribbon details in spoilers. Spoiler YuuRI won the ICExInfinity title over Hamuko Hoshi, needing three swantons overall and two consecutive in the finish to put her away. Hamuko strapped the belt on YuuRI to congratulate her on becoming champion. YuuRI is now a two-time champion, and her first challenger will be Tsukina Umino, who beat her in a tag match at the Dojo yesterday. Tsukina also beat Totoro Satsuki in an undercard trios match, partnered with Nanae Furukawa and Ancham (Totoro teamed with Yuna Manase and Asuka Fujitaki), so Tsukina can stake a claim to challenge for Totoro and Yuna's International Ribbon Tag Titles too. Yuki Mashiro successfully defended the Triangle Ribbon against Unagi Sayaka and Mio Shirai, pinning Mio. Mio said afterward that she will be wrestling more, while also still refereeing. Unagi encouraged Mashiro to challenge for the top line, saying that "be happy with pro wrestling" was nonsense, and to be successful in wrestling you have to be a little more stupid. Mashiro said she would indeed be more stupid. (I swear I'm not making that up.) Unagi will be at Ice Ribbon's Yokohama show in July to check in on her. Arisa Nakajima and Makoto brutalized Saran and Yoshiko Hasegawa in a fantastic match, and both Saran and Yoppy brought a lot of fight to the veterans, with Makoto having to choke Saran out to keep her down. Easily Saran's best match, and worth tracking down. Misa Kagura and Arisa Shinose won the opener over Yappy and Miria Kouga, with Arisa using the Shining Wizard given to her by Keiji Mutoh to put down Miria. Yappy and Miria didn't get along all that well, with Miria wrecking the momentum for her team by insisting on being tagged in when Yappy was about to put Arisa away with the Kentucky Bomb and then immediately squandering the advantage. Re: Tsukka's injury, she definitely dislocated the elbow on the Venus Shoot, but appears to have popped it back in moments later. Referee Barb Sasaki wisely called the match off anyway, even though Tsukka insisted on continuing. Attendance was very healthy. I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the 900-1,000 range. The Mayu/Tsukka match and the presence of Unagi Sayaka had a lot to do with that. Fans stuck around for the whole show, though. Hopefully they had fun! Stefanie Sparkleface
Ice Ribbon's attendance for today's Korakuen show was announced as 1,088! That's the largest attendance for Ice Ribbon at Korakuen since Ribbonmania 2019. Fans voted the Mayu/Tsukka match as best match, in spite of the injury. Mayu was voted MVP of the day, with Tsukka winning second place by just one vote. Referee Barb Sasaki is being almost universally praised for his handling of the end of the match. Hassy reported that Mayu had kind words to say about Tsukka, as well as Ice Ribbon's environment, after the match. https://x.com/Hassy0924/status/1804732581021360544 It was really wonderful to see Mayu in an Ice Ribbon ring. I hope the cooperation continues! Something to look forward to and I missed because it was nearly 2:30 in the morning for me when the show ended (read: WAY past my bedtime), but Ice Ribbon will have a new trainee debut at their Shin-Kiba show on July 14. This appears to have been one of the students at the Pro Wrestling Circle show a few months back.

Disappointing how it ended and you never want to see that happen, but it's the right thing to do.

Tsukka trying to hold her arm up and screaming that she was okay while Arisa spraying her arm with cold spray and telling her that she wasn't was such a moment. And yeah, Barb calling the match off was 100% the right move. I'd much rather a ref be cautious and stop a match rather than risk much worse injury. I was actually thinking about what would have happened if Yuji Nagata had been the ref as announced instead of Barb, and whether Yuji might have let it go or not (wrestler instinct being what it is and not wanting to stop things when adrenaline is flowing). Thank goodness Barb was the ref instead, and Tsukka got the medical attention she needed.
lostinube
From what I gathered about Stardom from the internet: Before the Conversion: Wtf is Stardom doing these days? They're done. The future is Marigold. After the Conversion: This is the most interesting thing Stardom has done recently and the future is bright. So I guess people were...converted.
Stefanie Sparkleface
Unagi Sayaka's intent of pep talking Yuki Mashiro was to get her to challenge to be the face of Ice Ribbon, and Mashiro interpreted the mission in her own way. She challenged YuuRI... not for YuuRI's ICExInfinity title, but for Mashiro's Triangle Ribbon. YuuRI said that she's wanted the Triangle Ribbon for a while because it would make her the first non-affiliated wrestler to have held all of Ice Ribbon's active titles, so she accepted. Triangle Ribbon defenses are required to be three-way matches, so another challenger will need to be chosen, but at the very least a defense has been set for Shin-Kiba on July 14, with YuuRI as one of the challengers. Tsukina Umino will be YuuRI's first challenger for the Infinity's title, but the date is currently undecided. During YuuRI's first reign as champion, she made her first (and only successful) defense at Ganbare, so it's possible that it may be held there. Tsukasa Fujimoto had successful surgery on her elbow, but has no estimated timetable on her return. She had mentioned that she would return to hiatus after Arisa Nakajima retires on August 23, so it's possible that she may just resume her hiatus instead of return to the ring. With regard to the injury, she thanked Barb Sasaki for stopping the match. Ibuki Hoshi, who was working backstage and accompanied Tsukka to the hospital, said that Tsukka felt that the labor in delivering her child was more painful than the elbow injury, so the elbow wasn't that bad. (As an aside, that may be the most badass thing I've seen someone say about an injury.) Also, Barb Sasaki confirmed that it was Arisa Nakajima who got his attention about Tsukka's arm being injured, as he was checking on Mayu Iwatani's condition after she was hit by Tsukka's Venus Shoot, and Arisa insisted that the match be called off, so there might have been something to that theory mentioned earlier in the thread about Arisa being behind the stoppage...
Stefanie Sparkleface
Ice Ribbon's soon-to-debut trainee, Kirari, had her first public exhibition match today. She's drawing some rave reviews already, with long-time fans saying that she reminds them of where wrestlers like Tsukushi, Kaho Matsushita, and Suzu Suzuki were at their debuts. That's some lofty praise to throw around. Her official ring name and debut opponent have not been decided yet, but already there's a lot of interest in seeing what she can do. Shin-Kiba's card is starting to fill out as well, as the required third wrestler for the Triangle Ribbon has been decided (Saran, who challenged after holding Yuki Mashiro to a draw today). The International Ribbon Tag Titles will also be up, as Mukomako will challenge BIG DEKAI after Hamuko Hoshi (partnered with Pure-J's Chie Ozora) beat Totoro Satsuki (partnered with Asuka Fujitaki) today. Hamuko and Makoto will be going for their third reign as champions, and this will be their first chance at the belts they didn't actually lose, as they were unseated in a three-way match when 1111 (Sumika Yanagawa & Misa Kagura) beat BLACK FIRE (Yappy & AKARI). Eivion
Manami getting involved is random. Someone like Dash would make more sense though she is likely eating a lot of losses in a block like that. Figured Tomoka would show up in one of these eventually. Still suspect in a year or two down the line after her sister hits 18 both will join Stardom. Guessing one of the Xs is an AEW wrestler. Mina not being in lends further to theories that she is joining AEW though she could just also already be booked for dates during the GP timeframe and they thought it better to not include her. Hope Ruaka and C get the play in spots though I suspect it will only go to one of them at best.

Mr. Monday Morning
Alright so this is a little random but I figured someone here might have an idea - I'm trying to track down the Natsuki Taiyo vs Kaori Yoneyama 30 minute time limit draw for the high speed title from back in 2013. Specifically March 3rd 2013, if that helps at all. It looks like it was included as part of a commercial release (Stardom Season 11 Grow Up Stars 2013) but finding it online somewhere has proved a bit of a challenge - it's not on Stardom World, as a lot of the older stuff is missing. I'm doing a bit of a high speed retrospective so would like to see it if I can, but short of shelling out something ridiculous for the DVD it seems a little unlikely at this point. If anyone has any ideas they would be gratefully received
