The "respected pro" or whatever he said doesn't sound like her. That makes me think Chris Hero or something.

He said one of the best wrestlers in the world, a pro that is known and respected by virtually every AEW fan.

Chris Hero isn’t one of the best wrestlers in the world and on the biggest platform he’s ever been on, he was just a jobber to the stars and under a different name.

That would fit the pattern of Tony Khan over grossly hyping his signings, so it could be.

If it is though at some point Tony Khan has to realize he’s doing a huge disservice to the debuting wrestler by hyping them up to such an extent that fans are expecting bigger name wrestlers than the debuting wrestler.

I don’t think the super special signing is Hero, but a Kings of Wrestling AEW tag run would be really special to see (vs FTR, Dralistico & Rush, Kings of the Black Throne, Best Friends, etc).

Philosophy-wise, how hot do you make a Dynamite coming off of Full Gear when it’s taking place on the night before Thanksgiving?

(there’s two other threads where that question could have fit)

At least they have a sample size for “hey what happens to our ratings on this day of the year”

You lean on the Continental Classic.

Wonder if the ratings would be worse than if they moved it to a different night this week .?

Out of their 3 shows, Dynamite probably has the least problems this week compared to running Colli-page on Saturday Night head to head with the Survivor Series.

Is there a unique to November/fall thing going on with the Collision/Rampage pairings or are they testing the concept of pairing the show tapings more consistently?

I think it's just a scheduling thing with TNT having a hockey double-header on Friday

Not sure if this is serious or not.

It’s a parody of Snoop Dogg’s tweet from a few days ago about giving up smoking weed.

A bit off topic, but the cynic in me says there's zero way that doesn't end as an advertisement for a vape or edible

It turned out to be an ad for a smokeless fire pit of all things.

gonna time travel back to 1993 and tell people how mainstream Snoop Doggy Dogg is in 2023

"Dr Dre sold his headphones company to Apple and is a billionaire, Ice Cube made a bunch of family movies until he started saying weird anti-Semitic shit on the internet, Ice T has been a cop on TV for like 20 years, and some A&R guy from Uptown had Tupac murdered. And oh yeah: watch out for 9/11."

"Who's Tupac again" - people not following the Digital Underground in 1993

As for MJF and his hip. Without knowing any sort of timeframe, that would be a good opening for the concept of having MJF work less on TV going into Nassau. You already have a worked injury to lean on here and if you're a stickler for 30 day defense clauses, he'd only have to work once between Full Gear and World's End to cover that requirement.

Unless he physically broke something, his hip injury would be a big painful bruise, wouldn't it?

Re: Ice Cube

"But I got a whip for ya, Toby Used to be my homie, now you act like you don't know me. It's a case of divide-and-conquer 'Cause you let a Jew break up my crew" - No Vaseline, Death Certificate, 1991

yeah in the case of Ice Cube, the only thing that changed with him being anti-semitic online is that he was doing it while online instead of doing it on his albums

Like, "Friday" by Ice Cube would be a good Friday night theme for Collision if they're not on Saturday for a week (so you're not using "Saturday Night's Alright" outside of Saturdays).. but anybody with Google and a brain can tell you why using an Ice Cube song would be a bad idea.

Hey now, 2Pacalypse Now came out in '91 and he'd already co-starred in Juice in '92.

Look out for 9/11 has a much different connotation in 1993. There is some giant ratty looking dude in a bingo hall near you chokeslamming people.

Tupac’s first solo record was out in late 1991, I would regularly play If My Homie Calls on my college radio show and Brenda’s Got a Baby was on MTV rotation. Very different from his later stuff though.
