The term for these types of teams used to be "blowjobs."  I wish I could remember the particulars, but I remember a story where two groups of promoters were discussing one of their territories and one said, "your territory is decent, but where are the blowjobs?"  The other promoter was embarrassed, thinking he meant that oral favors were supposed to have been arranged for the visit.

It’s Jerry Jarrett saying it to Bill Watts. That makes it funnier.

BTW, booking a finish where someone applies the figure four and then taps out without his opponent reversing the move because he’s accidentally hurting himself

That's the type of stuff you see frequently on lower level MMA shows in Brazil. This particular promotion (Fight Music Show) is just a tier or two above that, but if you somehow trap your own leg while attempting a kneebar, then yeah you're pretty bottom barrel.

so it's the MMA equivalent to the wrestling federation that didn't exactly exist where all the TV jobguys are beating up on guys so shitty that they can't get on TV?

At least there's MMA for people who can't get a black belt in a martial art

It's the equivalent of the stuff that you see uploaded on Armstrong Alley that's super obscure and featured guys who had like one match on WCW or WWF syndicated TV. Think the guy who tried to shoot on (you can probably also say legit murder) Mike Rotunda that one time in early WCW and then followed him to the back.

“The Revolutionary Force in Sports Entertainment” is a tag line waiting for some heel to use it.

J.A.S. used it in their intro video for a week or two in AEW, before changing up the wording slightly. IIRC, they even replaced the "For over 50 years..." with "For nearly two weeks..." which was brilliant

OK, can someone point me to the video of this as it's something I never knew about until now.

Death Row in that Rotunda match... I think that was a Malenko trainee that worked on Boris' florida indy

James

Between this and the guy trying to show off for his family in the Skyscrapers match (only to get his ass kicked thoroughly), did the enhancement talent just not respect WCW at all or was Sullivan just telling people to pack up as many guys as possible in a van and everyone would get a ham sandwich and 60 bucks?

I remember once my dad rented "I Like To Hurt People" which was so wild to watch when I was such a young kid.

I rented this when I was probably 8 or 9 years old, and the final scene of the movie is Sheik cutting the promo about having the match on top of Cobo Hall or something, right? Well they didn't show whatever match Sheik was promoting and I was super pissed about not getting the payoff.
