DECEMBER WRESTLING CHIT CHAT

RIPPA

Recommended Posts

I like the tag team of Curtis Axel & Ryback. I wasn't super high on either solo but as a team, they feel very old school to me. Like a tag team that would have fit right in during the WWF in the 1980s. Give 'em a mouth piece, a tag finish & some wins & I think they could get over.

They should have done an angle where Punk beats Heyman so badly he gets amnesia and thinks it still early 90s WCW. Heyman would have been the perfect manager for those two stiffs if he was still hitting people with giant phones and generally being Jim Cornette: Eastern Seaboard edition.

Then he could call one of the divas a hooker.

The best part of the network is where Triple H, similar to when Ted Turner ran TNT in the '90s and wanted then-unknown film The Shawshank Redemption to get shown as often as possible, insists on airing The Chaperone and Inside Out every week until they can finally grow a large fanbase and be recognizied as modern day classics.

Thank you, I was thinking the same thing too.

In general, I'm greatly looking forward to the network's movie schedule. I imagine it will be mainly WWE Studios, with some Steven Seagal flicks (the ones where he is really fat) thrown in.

I also wonder how long before they get so desperate for ratings they ignore the PG thing and start showing soft porn movies with Shannon Tweed.

Does anyone remember a Raw segment where Val Venus gave a promo on another wrestler about that guy marrying his sister? I remember it happened and then was never mentioned again.

It was Edge after facing Val, and it was goofy because Edge was like "You were the better man, but you won't be the best man... because that will be Christian". And it was because Edge married Val's sister IRL.

Does anyone know what Davey Richards said in the European magazine to piss of ROH so much he didn't get his ROH goodbye?

Here are the quotes:

Do you think changing the tag titles on three separate shows helped the ROH tag team division in any way?

“Nah. Those belts don’t mean nothing anymore, anyway.”

What do you think of the iPPV issues that ROH has been experiencing (which we look at in depth elsewhere in this issue)?

“I don’t care. It doesn?t bother me. If they can’t get their crap together that’s their problem. I just worry about showing up, doing my job in the ring and they can do whatever they want with that stuff. It’s their deal.”

You’ve been ROH Champion yourself ? what are your thoughts on what it means to be at the top of the tree and the responsibility that comes with it?

“In my opinion that title has been devalued vastly for the last few years. The booking of it has been really substandard and screwy. It helps guys get bookings when they’re holding it, but it’s kind of a death touch because you work hard to get it and then it’s like you realize how screwy things become. And now the booking is so screwy with it, it’s just like a piece of metal, unfortunately. It has a rich history: I mean, look at the guys who have held it. Most of them have been very deserving in my opinion.”

I am not up on Davey's business practices, but I would imagine if he is how this board and other think he is, that him getting signed to WWE is might make him think he was right in all he has done. I keep feeling like i'm not explaining myself right in regards to this.

Either way. I had a dream him and Edwards were made to grow out there hair in Sami Callhian Style but dye it blonde and be vapid emo kids. I met them (in the dream) at a Tampa NXT show.

Yup!

Thanks. They never mentioned it again, did they?
