Looking to get back into indy wrestling

PWG has been the best of the indies for the last few years. Check out Mystery Vortex, BOLA 2013 Night 2, Threemendous III, Steen Wolf. All four are their best shows the last few years.

ROH has a free show on their website every week. Most of the biggest indy guys work for them so you can get an idea of what is out there with them. Their overall quality is okay this year, Delirious is booker and he has done a mediocre job.

Chikara is... weird right now. Maybe dead, maybe coming back. You figure it out.

Don't watch Evolve/DGUSA but hear they have some quality shows, probably the most similar to the ROH of 2006-2007 of all the indies out there.

I haven't watched much in several years, but the fed I see hyped up the most is PWG. I hear AIW, AAW are really good as well. There's also niche stuff like ISW, Hoodslam and C*4 that I've seen mentioned. I'm not sure what Beyond Wrestling is, but I've seen that mentioned as well.

SHIMMER and SHINE are also still out there I believe as far as women's wrestling as well, but I couldn't tell you much about either. CZW is also out there as well and people seem to enjoy it more than they were a few years ago. There also wXw which still uses a lot of US and Japanese guys.

Everyone should be watching ICW out of Scotland - the standard of wrestling is good, they've some decent characters, and the crowds are great, in terms of loudness and numbers - they had about 1200 at a recent show. They've got so much stuff on youtube, full matches, shows and other stuff. I'd probably recommend the ICW Worldwide series or the Square Go event as good starting points. I'm pretty much addicted.

I guess I'll be a bit of a homer, but you should check out CWF Mid-Atlantic. Obviously, myself and Stuttsy work there, but we legit feel like the pr0duct compares, and even exceeds in some cases, anyone else. The style is mostly a modernized Southern style, if I had to describe it.

I don't mind CWF so much and Chikara is just a wonderful thing on its own, but most every indy show I watch inevitably turns into superkick hour. Theoretically, there is plenty of perfectly decent rasslin' from the good old days to keep you busy for the rest of your life.

Wow! Thanks for all the great feedback. Ive been watching a ton of old Georgia and Memphis stuff over the last few years and ive been loving it. I just hate how im so disconnected with anything present day.

Im going to try to get back into czw and i would like to try nwa-sm and aaw. Where can i watch their shows. Do they have internet tv type deals or is it ippv and dvds only?

Also what is tcw, is that traditonal championship wrestling. I dont care about not knowing who the roster is i would just like somethiny with an old school feel to it.

Yeah it is. Mainly out of the Arkansas/Mississippi area.

Here's their YouTube channel where they post their weekly TV

NWA Smoky Mountain also posts their weekly TV online, though they've been preempted a lot the last few weeks bc of college football.

Most Indies do pretty cheap iPPV's so you can probably check out almost any indie fed and get a taste for cheap.

PWG is my current favorite again. Lots of SUPER MOVES but I enjoy and the crowd is just fun enough and not overly annoying.

Shimmer does shows here in Tampa, which i've yet to see (going this month) but from people i've talked to at FIP shows (which play the same place) they say it's really good.

I realize i've contributed nothing to this thread, but I was looking for more indy threads and came across this.

Still looking for people in Tampa who go to local indy shows and post here..
