DragonZombie Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 All over the net but there will be layoffs tomorrow. Employees will be let go remotely, they're told to go home and to see if they will be let go or not. https://www.wrestlinginc.com/1394893/report-nick-khan-notifies-wwe-employees-post-endeavor-sale-layoffs-begin-friday/
DragonZombie Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 PWinsider wrote about which people are gone from WWE. And about 50 plus are gone. https://wrestlingheadlines.com/multiple-significant-wwe-hq-departures-revealed/
DragonZombie Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Lot more layoffs but no website lists them in one post. Lazy journalists. Seens the UFC staff and employees get to stay over their WWE counterparts.

DragonZombie Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Too late for that. Nice to see the Rock back.
Eivion Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 The opening segment with Pat, Theory, and the Rock was good and a nice surprise. Despite getting punked out I thought this was probably the best segment Theory has had on the main roster. He obviously wasn't on the Rock's level, but he didn't feel nearly as out of place as he did when Cena eviscerated him on the mic. Theory actually carried himself well here. AJ/Finn was nice while it lasted. Story wise it made sense with Jimmy getting involved with the finish. LWO vs. Street Profits ende dup a bit of nothing with the majority of the match happening during commercial break. In the end it was more about the pre and post match segments showing us the meaner/more heelish side of Lashley and co. Miz/Knight was good, way better than their Payback match with no special ref to distract. Good win for Knight and a nice post match speech with Knight setting his sights on gold. Asuka/Bayley was pretty good, probably the best I can recall the two ever meshing. The finish with Shotzi worked well. The final segment was solid. I kind of dug Cena never getting to speak and having to just react to Walker, Jimmy, and Solo until the action went down. 1
Curt McGirt Posted September 16, 2023 Author Posted September 16, 2023 Shotzi was like a Ring-style wraith mere fingertips away. Bayley putting the pedal to the floor on the ramp because she turned around and Shotzi was right there was great. It's like she was afraid to get poked by her liberty spikes or something. Match itself was real smooth and I could watch them wrestle an hour. The Uso Tron still looks like it says JIMMY OSO and I just quote Colors again: "Ain't that a fuckin' bear, Oso?"
Johnny Sorrow Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 (edited) I've gone to every WWE and AEW show in Denver or close to Denver for years, and have brought my nephew and his pals to every WWE show here for the last three years . THIS was the one I skipped because I spent ALL my entertainment money for three days at the Dead shows in Boulder this Summer. I couldn't afford to get tickets to the Wrestling. I don't regret that... but right now I'm pissed. I would have loved having the kids be part of that crowd. The Denver wrestling crowd rules and is awesome and I'm so happy to be part of it. For Great Justice Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Big thanks to Deion Sanders for a very fun Smackdown
Octopus Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Sad for likely losing the Finish the Story story (I don’t know this, but I’m a Vikings fan so I’m conditioned to express the worst after having hope), but a Rock return makes me happy. I will watch WWE stuff again. Which I guess is the goal of bringing him in. Good work! I like what I’m seeing. Maybe I’m a WWE-guy again?!

Wait Me, what if we get Rock vs Roman Night 1 & Cody vs Roman Night 2?!?!?! Are you telling me there’s a chance, Me? Vikes winning the Super Bowl!!!!! Edited September 16, 2023 by Octopus
EVA Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 I’ll believe Rock/Roman is happening when the match is in the ring. Mania season is going to be right around the time Hollywood really starts ramping up production after the strike is over. Dwayne is going to have a lot of options to make a lot of money without needing to work a wrestling match. 1
Octopus Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Can you do the match on a non-Wrestlemania? Like counter program a big AEW PPV. Maybe even debut Punk or Jade there.

Everything on his slate right now is a step away from development hell or desperation moves like the Fast return and the live action Moana. One of those will probably help him course correct, but if there was ever a point since his last match where he would need the media attention of a Wrestlemania run it’s now.

I think you’re underestimating how boned Hollywood is right now. I think the strike has helped Rock’s career prospects immensely. As soon as they fire the starting gun post-strike, Hollywood is going to be greenlighting and fast-tracking everything with a pulse. A charming dealmaker with a big name like Dwayne will absolutely get stuff made. I think what we’ve seen over the last couple of days is Dwayne wisely positioning himself for a nice payday if the strike is still lingering into the spring. But I don’t think it will. 2
Iron Moose Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Meanwhile, on LVL UP Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson d Dani Palmer & Tatum Paxley after Paxley refuses a tag. Lash and Jakara are putting the pieces together; Lash's control segment had a really nice bit of blocking Palmer from tagging; Paxley showed some fun face charisma midway through. some other tag with Nima and Price Tyler Bate d Charlie Dempsey in a great back-and-forth match in the heritage cup tournament. Worth seeking out! 2
Curt McGirt Posted September 16, 2023 Author Posted September 16, 2023 Where can LVL UP be found? I have never heard of this show anywhere but here.
EVA Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 It’s also fun to remember how, last time Rock’s roided ass wrestled a proper match, he ripped his body in half at the pelvis. And that was 10 years ago.
