Rev Ray Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Chris Kanyon as Mortis: *click to enlarge* *click to enlarge* *click to enlarge* PWG's Brian Cage as Mortis: After mentioning on Twitter how much I enjoyed hearing Brian Cage tell Kanyon stories on Colt's Art of Wrestling, Cage tweeted me the photo of himself wrestling as Mortis. Apparently, he only did a handful of shows as the character starting in the summer of 2007... Pretty neat. I just learned recently about Kanyon bringing Mortis back to work WWE house shows in 2003, so it was cool to see that the grape-flavored Mortis lived on past the WWE. I hadn't noticed it before, but was Kanyon wearing black contacts? I had always assumed he just had a see through black mesh over the eye holes.
The Green Meanie Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Man I'm not sure why I'm just now finding out about this - WWE + Lego knockoffs = profit! WWE Stackdown: 4
mco543 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Holy shit the Miami Vice Dolph Ziggler playset is amazing. God, I wish they had those when I was a kid.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 That's super illegal. But I love Kane/Taker's house. 1
Hoarr Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Personally, I think it's horseshit that they didn't go with LEGO for these. That could've easily lead to an open-world sandbox LEGO WWE game for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii, Wii U, 3DS, 2DS and the PC! 1
The Green Meanie Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Personally, I think it's horseshit that they didn't go with LEGO for these. It's not like Lego doesn't license everything these days.
Valcourt Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Luke dressing like a late 90's skate punk is funny to me.
Tromatagon Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Those Stack Down sets are fucking cool.http://www.amazon.com/Universe-Damien-Sandows-School-Construction/dp/B00GU13SES/ref=sr_sp-btf_image_1_4?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1386406765&sr=1-4&keywords=Stack+down
Bustronaut Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Man, Sin Cara looks good in red. I wonder if they stuck Hunico in the suit just because of licensing deals they already had going?
Phantom Lord Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Bray Wyatt does look like the kinda guy you would run into at a WaWa at 1 in the morning.
Curt McGirt Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Copied from Purotopia. Damn it's dusty in here... 6
cool arrow Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 So that leaves Akiyama as the last link to AJ's glory days. I feel old and in the way. 2
The Z Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I honestly didn't even know, this was today, but this occasion clearly deserves some more pics: 10
Ligerbusa Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Pretty neat. I just learned recently about Kanyon bringing Mortis back to work WWE house shows in 2003, so it was cool to see that the grape-flavored Mortis lived on past the WWE. I remember him wrestling before a Smackdown taping. His message board had pics and someone had found the production theme they used.
dok Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 If only Colin Olsen could have done the same.
cool arrow Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Billy looks like he's about to piss himself out of sheer terror. Still, props for the little baby fanny pack.
Roman Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Pretty neat. He's not from 'parts unknown'; he's from 'the mists of the arcane and macabre'. They say so in the first sentence! As for 'what thoughts lurk behind that hideous mask'? 3
Bustronaut Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 That first Kanyon gif is amazing. I hope he actually ran into the shot without anyone in the truck knowing about it.
Jerry Hattrick Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Kanyon should have continued his Kanyon Kutter spots in the WWE. In fact, introduce him doing that backstage to one of the wrestlers to start his first feud.

In fact, introduce him doing that backstage to one of the wrestlers to start his first feud. Yeah but that probably would've gotten him over and Vince wasn't about to allow that.

He wrestled Austin Aries before a St. Louis Smackdown taping I was at.
