The 2nd one in many ways a better match even though it was kinda thrown together at the last minute and it's now face vs. face. I think they realized that card was gonna suck if the top two matches were just Taker vs. Kama and Diesel vs. Mabel. The only issue is you can tell we're in full Shawn is a clear and utter asshole mode. Either it's that or he was just so much of a perfectionist that he was a bundle of nerves going into that match. Between showing up the referee before the match for hanging the belt up wrong (not absolving the ref cause you should know the correct way and it's not with the main plate facing up or down for that matter) and losing his cool over the botched finish (that WAS Shawn's fault), it's evident what path Shawn was headed down over the next 2 and 1/2 years from that point.

I've always liked the 2nd ladder match more than the first, even with the slightly botched ending and other problems you mentioned. Then again, I like the SummerSlam'92 match with Warrior and Savage way more than I do the Wrestlemania VII, only difference being the post-match angle being awesome at WM VII and quite shitty at SS'92. I'm sure there are other similar instances, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I wonder if I’ve read more wrestling than actually watched. I know that is likely the case recently.

Probably true for me as well. I mean I took 6 months off from watching wrestling all together in 2007 when that one slightly uncomfortable thing that has happened in the business happened, but even then I was reading about wrestling pretty much every day. Also, these days my chances of watching wrestling are severely limited even though the available material exceeds my wildest dreams. Still, there's always enough time to read through the Discussion threads.

I took Japanese in college(i failed) but i know enough to infer.  Same with high school Spanish and lucha commentary.

My brain turns off any English when I try to speak Spanish. However when I don't know the Spanish word my brain substitutes Japanese verbs in the Spanish sentence.

I bought a mask from Violento Jack when I went to Japan last month. Our conversation was a mix of Japanese, Spanish and English. It kind of just flowed that way. I also went to one of the Fantasctica Mania shows. Being in Japan but trying to understand all of the videos and announcing in Spanish messed me up in my head.

From Kurt's podcast

Kurt Angle had successful back surgery work done. He no longer feels pain down his legs and has no more problems with his legs. The back pain hasn't went away yet.

My college roommate majored in, among other things, Japanese and he told me that I didn't have the discipline to try and learn it.

For about two years I lived the language. I was tired of my History major, and always loved Japanese, so I found a school nearby that offered it, dropped out of History, and went for Japanese. Was planning on studying abroad for my degree but my anxiety caused me to not go and to drop out of the program. I lived that shit. I spent the entire winter break of 2010 studying only to drop out the next year. It's hard to master as the Kanji screws with people. I barely remember any of it now.

Fast forward to 2019, and I ended up finishing my History degree at the school I started, lol. Got my MA after that, and now I'm going for another MA in Education. My life is a mess!

Shouldn't be a shock because it's XPW, but there was apparently a spot that really jumped the shark last night.  Spoilers

I've got a messed up back and had a bunch of treatments done. Back still hurts but the lack of leg pain is wonderful. I can only imagine the shape Angle's body is in but I'm happy that he's finally feeling some relief.

I can only stand the Dallas crowd and their idol worship of the Von Erichs for so long, so that's the territory I've seen the least of, actually. You guys can see me fill in other gaps in real time elsewhere.

The amount of Brody there prob doesn’t help.

I’ve seen very little of Lawlers pre WWF stuff same with mid south

Most of the Mid South I've seen has been in one of two contexts:

1) Cherry picking matches/angles of various guys who came through over the years (Terry, Flair, Hogan, etc)

2) I was a very weird little kid, and was obsessed with Andy Kaufman (still am) so I watched I'm From Hollywood on Comedy Central probably hundreds of times

Dude, that I'm From Hollywood special messed with my mind when I first saw it.  I only knew of him from Taxi and I sat at the kitchen table completely glued to the TV.  It really showed me something I never knew Kaufman did and it's funny reading/hearing bits and pieces about it over the years.  Dude was just ahead of his time and knowing it's on Youtube means I'll need to find the time to watch it.

We just got out of the WWE Sunday Slammer Road To WrestleMania show in Denver tonight. Holy shit, it was great. The place was basically sold out and Denver lived up to its reputation as a hot wrestling town. We were on fire all night. My nephew and his pals had an amazing time and so did I. And, I had looked up what matches were being done on this tour and was expecting the same card. They gave us a different show than the rest of the tour.
From memory the card was:

1. Bianca BelAir beat Chelsea Green

2. The Brawling Brutes beat Imperium

3. Bronson Reed beat Johnny Gargano

4. Charlotte Flair beat Liv Morgan and Sonya Deville

5. Asuka and Mia Yim beat Damage Control

6. Miz TV with Denver's own Bobby Lashley led to a three way match where Austin Theory beat Lashley and Miz when Theory pinned Miz.

7. Cody Rhodes, Ricochet, and Strowman beat the Usos and Solo Sikoa.

The crowd went NUTS for Lashley. It was awesome.
Oh, and they turned down the crowd lights for the Main Event. It looked great.

Incredibly Strange Wrestling had either an HIV Needle or HIV razor on a pole match in the 90s.

I'm not sure what people are angrier about, the dick spot or the fact that XPW brought back admitted abuser G-Raver.

Rob Black sees XPW getting any kind of publicity as a win

He recently pulled XPW off FITE in favor of XPW's own streaming service because he didn't want to deal with blowback on content - now we know why

No, come on. Rob Black is not promoting wrestling again. Shut up.

Since late 2021, actually. He ran a non-deathmatch show in Rochester, NY (he also runs a restaurant in Rochester) back then with Brian Cage winning a world title tournament, but since NY can't have blood he's been running bi-monthly shows in Los Angeles since 2022. And in recent months, he also took over ICW's venue in New Jersey and stole a bunch of their talent. So he's running monthly XPW shows in either Los Angeles or New Jersey.

And occasionally he runs no-ring shows called "Theater of Brutality" out of his restaurant in Rochester and streams them for free

I heard it drew 9,000 people. That's really good.
