Was really good but I wish she did more than two songs from her first two albums, although she did finish with rainbow which I love and was hoping to hear. Also the audience was about 80-90 percent female which was unusual for me! I'm more used to the slayer audience which is like 80-90 percent beefy dudes with beards I like the stuff I've heard off the newest album she put out but it's kinda low energy at points. How did those tracks play?
zendragon Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 She played 8 tracks off it (and 8 off her previous album) seemed like tons of people where singing along 1
zendragon Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Got to see Joey Belladonna sing an hour of Dio Karaoke tonight 1
Curt McGirt Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 I have nothing but disdain for Anthrax but Joey could probably belt 'em out doing that. 1
zendragon Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 I'm sure he sounded better than Vince Neil will sound tonight
zendragon Posted October 13, 2024 Posted October 13, 2024 Went to see Eric Clapton last night, sounded good, played good, great backing band. But setlist left something to be desired opened with Sunshine, Key to the Highway, Badge but with the exceptions of Tears in Heaven and Cocaine he went into his catalogue of blues standards which to me are not his strong suit. No White Room, Layla, Bell Bottom Blues, Wonderful Tonight or anything off Blind Faith but he made space for Change the World However on a positive note opening act Jimmy Vaughn played Texas Floods

zendragon Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 I really like the Greater of Two Evils album where they rerecorded the earlier material John Bush. The John and Rob era was the first time I saw anthrax and they would do a lot of old material 1
zendragon Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 Went to see Jeff Lynn's ELO last night as part of my see them while they are still playing campaign, so many great songs I remember from classic rock radio when I first got a car
zendragon Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Went to see Orville Peck tonight, brought out Beck for Death Valley High and did a county version of Pink Pony Club for first encore. Second time in as many months I've heard a country artist do that one. Also got a lot of complements on my Anxious Millennial Cowboy shirt 2
zendragon Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Went to see The Master of Sparks himself, ZZ Top! Played all the hits and some early stuff like waiting for the bus, brown sugar, and jesus just left chicago 2
zendragon Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Went to see David Gilmour at the Hollywood Bowl tonight. Played a good bit of stuff off he last two solo records and some later era Pink Floyd, which I like I wish he had played Learning to Fly and On The Turning Away. Played Time which surprised me as I've always considered it more of a Roger Waters song, finished with Laser light show set to Comfortably Numb
Curt McGirt Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 (edited) Man ZZ would be one to knock off the list. Since I never caught Motorhead, it would be great to see Lemmy's favorite band instead. (Not for that reason alone, of course. Their first what, four or so? records are incredible. Not just essential rock'n'roll, but essential American music period.) Chaos Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 I'm on concert ticket probation because of everything we have planned in 2025, so of course Pearl Jam announces a rare southeast run in the spring and Dead & Co officially announce another 18 night Sphere run. I'll end up caving and doing something for my birthday, but that's more likely to be Umphrey's or Billy Strings or something random like Matt Nathanson.

zendragon Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Funny thought saw "Pantera" (minus the abbot brothers) open for Metallica earlier this year, and tonight saw "Van Hagar" (Sammy, Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani on guitar) open for Metallica at the Youtube theatre. Pricy ticket but really cool to see Metallica play a theatre 1
